I know dynamic weather didn't quite hit the heights that we all wanted but just a few graphical effects and it could all change! Check the the work done by Pete Beeby and his team as reported on FSDevelopers forums. This is quite old now - the post was on the 5th of February but I couldn't find it on here and just thought it wasn't to be missed. Whats nice about this is that from the runway it links the key technologies with trueSKY and PBR cockpit rendering nicely so you get a much better effect for the sim. The plane itself no longer stands alone. The developer was at pains to mention this is custom wet surfaces so it's not a global environmental change but somethi…

  6. Hello, I realize that no one likes to have people complaining on the forums, but for us customers, this is one of the few ways we can get our voices heard! If it wasn't for us paying customers, then the whole industry would fall apart, which would suck for everyone, since we would get fewer new releases, updates, etc. It's not like I am complaining about a free product, or some free livery not working right. This is a purchase I made with hard earned cash. In fact it's multiple purchases. The seller agreed to let me download the purchases whenever I need to, from his site, after I bought it from there. You cannot just take someone's money and then call him impat…

Last night some of us were talking about marches and military music. Some of my favorites are the 7th Cavalry marching song The Gary Owen, The British Grenadiers and Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever. And while not exactly martial music Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. One Fourth of July when I live in Denver the Denver Symphony Orchestra played it with real church bells from chapel at the Araria Campus and a battery of 75mm howitzers from Fort Carson in a parking lot a block away chiming in at the appropriate times. I was great! Now I am Norseman by heritage and I don't know how that Scottish gene got mixed up in my DNA unless one of those Norsemen brought S…

  8. Hello, This is a heads up to not shop on flightsimstore.com at the moment. Even though the store end of their website *seems* functional, you cannot download any of your purchases! Even worse, this problem has persisted for a whole week now! I emailed them on Sunday and they haven't even bothered to respond, even though I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of products from their store over the past couple of months. Before this week, I thought of these guys as my second favorite store, after justflight.com, but now...wow. This is unacceptable for any site wishing to do business in the gaming DLC industry. Can you imagine if Steam just went down for a week and…

I purchased this early access for P3Dv4 and noticed that it has presets for installing in FSW which have not been fully implemented yet. Anybody hear if this will be fully implemented? Would at least extend the life for me of this sim some more.

Hi all, I've been eyeing the CRJ700 as my first true airliner, simply because that is what flies into the local airports around here. I've seen so many mixed reviews all varying widely in dates since release. Mostly, I am seeing CRJ's and Embraer series of jets fly in. Usually around an hour or so flight time. I haven't seen any Embraer addons that jump out at me as extraordinary high quality but I haven't looked into it that much. I'm puzzled by the Aerosoft CRJ, it looks decent but so many mixed reviews...I would opt for the Dash-8, but those aircraft do not fly anywhere near my region of the country. What do you guys think? What would you recommend to me as …

I see just flight are close to releasing Traffic Global for fsx and p3d. It features real, up to date, liveries and schedules. The models look pretty good too, I’m hoping they will do a version for fsw too. This is a development page with some shots of it. Looks pretty good. It will be nice to have an up to date, actively support cross platform ai solution. The existing ones are a bit problematic to get up and running, poorly supported or have bugs in them. https://www.justflight.com/product/traffic-global?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Just Flight Just Trains Newsletter - September 2017&utm_content=Just Flight Just Trains Newsletter - September 2017+CID…

  17. This is interesting! Live streaming of everywhere on Earth in HD. Airbus and Bill Gates are a couple of supporters. Will be used to monitor illegal fishing and golfers relieving themselves by trees and bushes (my attempt at humor...). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-5634953/Bill-Gates-backs-1-billion-plan-cover-Earth-Big-Brother-satellites.html Perhaps soon, we can simulate flying over Earth with real time HD streaming. You'll now be able to see if your friends or family members are having a BBQ on the other side of town and you were not invited! I hope I can live long enough to see this happen!

  19. I watched Froogle's video last evening on the demise of FSW and the possible impact it might have on Lockheed-Martin's P3D. You can watch the video below but the pertinent bit starts at 16m where he suggests Dovetail could sue LM for damage to their product by offering the Academic licence of P3D at a similar price to FSW. One result of this could be LM either withdrawing the Academic licence or hiking its price. Froogle has never supported the Academic licence and believes serious simmers should buy the Pro Licence. What's your take on how things might pan out? Would Dovetail have a reasonable case against LM? Should we be concerned about which licenc…

Hi there. I have a2a c182 for a long time, and got really comfortable with this aircraft, but now I`d like to have something a bit more advanced.I would go with Majestic dash 8-400 ( love this plane a lot!!), but watching youtube videos makes me feel it`s too complicated for me at the moment. What aircraft would suit me the best as a transition between c182 and dash 8?Something in between with real engine startup, navigation ect?If I put c182 on difficulty scale as 1, so Dash 8 would be 10. I need something like 5)))) Would like to have autopilot similar to c182- all other a2a aircrafts like Piper 250 don`t have that.. I like a lot Manfred Jahn C-47, but I think it`s…

  25. As far as I can tell, there are a lot of pretty unsuccessful/low-selling games on Steam. They aren't removed though. Maybe someone can correct me about Steam's policies, but I haven't heard of indie developers removing their games from Steam because of hosting fees or anything like that. Having played FSW, I think it was functional. I know they were testing career mode, but even that could have been stripped and they could have tidied up a few bugs. FSX still takes tons of tweaking/adjustments (i.e., it has bugs). IMO, the following are possiblities: They want to retain the rights to FSX and don't want to confuse consumers or undermine FSX sales. The…
