Hi all, I just saw this post being mentioned on reddit https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/17605-19-june-2018-news-update/ And I have to say it is an excellent response. They go in depth on how they are moving forward, and in a nutshell....this makes me feel positive about the company. I have been wanting to try their products. Bottom line is we all make mistakes (even if the intention is right), it is all about perception isn't it. We all are human. FSLabs is taking big courage with this step and it is a very positive one. One of things I would suggest to FSLabs is work with PMDG, Majestic, Orbx, Flight 1, Lockheed Martin - especiall…

  3. I know we all spend more money than we intend to on our flightsims and I've often wondered what it cost me on average per fligthsim session based on everything I've spent over the last 4 years. So I calculated it and then worked out an average monthly cost based on that - and ultimately a cost per sim session. Avg monthly software budget (addons) - £50...£2400 (per 4 years) New PC once per 4 years ................................£2200 P3D version cost per 4 years ............................£400 Hardware peripherals per 4 years..................... £1000 TOTAL COST per 4 years...................................£6000 COST PER YEAR ...…

  4. Hi all! I started this hobby project a while ago and put in a several months of time to build an airline management simulation game. This is my first stab at writing a game (I am a software developer but my job has nothing to do with games at all...) I want to write an airline simulation game that has good depth in simulation, and focus on things that are fun and challenging. The game is close to a playable stage and I plan to release it as a free-game. (it's my hobby project anyway). But the problem is I would need to start putting in money to get at least an online cloud server and the SSL certificate. So I wish to gauge interest from this forum and see i…

Hi I'm training myself to fly the built-in Beech Baron. I'm flying entirely manually, but I programmed the system to show me the runway glide path. It works, but in that glass cockpit, there's some data I can't see, such as how far I am from the runway, and in which direction the runway is.! I'm sorry if this is obvious, but if appreciate it if someone can point out where I can get this data,I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Gaz

  9. All: As a user of Flight 1's GTN650 (whose AIRAC is currently locked in at AIRAC 1611, at least until Garmin updates the database in their GTN trainer, which could be a while, if ever), I was wondering if anyone had a PDF copy of the FAA's Digital Terminal Procedures Publication (d-TPP), volume SE-3 (covering Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) that was in effect at the time AIRAC 1611 went into effect (on October 13, 2016)? I contacted the FAA directly thinking it'd be an easy matter for them to retrieve a out-of-date,digital publication (under the assumption that they would simply move old publications into an different folder for archival purposes), …

Deadstick Bush Flight Simulator has its own page on Steam now, including a discussion forum! And they also released a new (alpha) preview (see video below)! After no news about at all it since last December this is great new to me! Been waiting for this one and I will definitely get it! Release to be expected 'late 2018'. Information from the Steam page "Bush Flight Simulator, coming later in 2018, aims to replicate the challenges of surviving as a light aircraft bush pilot tasked with delivering cargo in remote, inhospitable terrain. Deadstick captures the thrill of being a bush pilot, braving the elements in an attempt to keep both yourself and aircraft intact…

  11. Hey guys, Mentioned the other day that I was quite new to flight simming and i'd like to find some reputable and highly regarded reviewers/youtubers/public figures within flight simulation, as recently i've found myself watching and reading stuff about flight simulation almost as much as i've actually spent playing it! Watching quite a lot of the Matt Davies/Squirrel/Froogle vids that are out there but it'd be cool to get some suggestions from the experts (you guys) about who else is worth checking out Thanks in advance 😄

However I just cant help but think it'll be like 100% of their other airlines....looks good, sounds good but lacks depth and realism. The 747 Classic family is what we all want, and so I hope they do it the justice she deserves!!! https://www.facebook.com/justflight/

Although the news has featured on the AVSIM main page, many of us may not have known that Eric Ernst died in April at the tragically early age of 51. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/northjersey/obituary.aspx?n=eric-william-ernst&pid=188725403&fhid=17155 As the developer of the 767 Pilot in Command, his work was the forerunner of the 'study level' aircraft that we see today with PMDG and FSLabs, amongst others. A sad loss for our community.

I have been looking into possibly purchasing a chart service to add to my Navigraph data subscription. I see that the Navigraph charts are about $90 a year, and I am told that smaller airports have been eliminated from their service. I found another product called Simplate X which has about 70,000 charts from all over the world, and it is a one time purchase of around $40. My question is , if anyone is using Simplate X, how useful is it? I understand that the plates are not updated frequently, but on their website they claim that much of the actual plates are not updated that often either. I get much of my nav0aid infor from Skyvector in the US, but I was thinking this C…

I've relatively recently come into flight simulation and spent a while scouring through a number of recommendations as to what platform is best for the full experience, but the replies have been varied. Ended up going with X-Plane 11 which I've been enjoying immensely, but the responses did get me thinking; If the flight sim community could make the perfect modern day flight simulator, what would it include? What features are essential? What is missing from the current offerings that you guys feel could take the genre forward?

https://mettarsim.com/2018/06/12/dev-update-4/ So I'm on my way to work on the tube this morning reading Matt's Dev update and I thought to myself, there is more drama in this community than there is in the Royal Shakespeare Company. Make if it what you will. It's in the public domain, so it will get spoken about I'm sure. Drama aside, I am looking forward to both products and I will support both products. It's a win-win for all of us - it's just unfortunate that these things do happen and that feelings have to get hurt in the process.

  20. Greetings, I'm planning on attending the event with my wife. Like most significant others, she is coming to witness, in-person, that I'm not the only crazy person who lives and breathes flight simulation, LoL! I was not sure if you plan to offer a different pricing structure for those who could not tell you the difference between a PMDG and Abacus product and are attending with someone who does? EDIT: As a side note, she bought the attendance to this expo for me as a Christmas present...I feel just for that she should at least get a 50% discount or at least a discount on a spa treatment at the Flamingo's spa center, hehe

  23. I'm using Just Flight's BAe 146 as my chosen aircraft for the home built cockpit I've made. It's a great aircraft, but the one thing that is really bugging me is the cockpit voice that screams at me when I get too low or below the glide slope, my height and so on. I've asked Just Flight if there is a way of turning off this voice, but they have basically said they are too busy to be able to help or respond......Does anyone know if there is a way this voice can be turned off? I'm happy to edit a config file or even edit the program, but just need to be steered in the right direction......Thanks :-)

I did not know where to place this post, it's not a video I made and I did not think it appropriate to place it there. These aircraft are the wave of the future. Unlike, the Moller Aircar, the Ehang 184 looks like it might fill a practical need, especially with the coming breakthru that Samsung has made on Lithium batteries. Brushless electric motors, which evolved out of the RC hobby, are very powerful. The electric motor on my old Radian RC glider was so powerful it could do two things--get the glider to over 500 feet high in less than a minute, and when run in my living room, the prop blast blew the curtains off the curtain rods, a prop of only six inches, actually …
