  1. Hi, I know, I know these movies were ridicilous. Still, does anyone remember this movie were the protagonist is around 50-55 years old, very smart and with a kind of diplomatic based job who lands the aircraft (of course) safely on the airport. I think it's was not kidnaped, just half of the fuselage was fell apart and was still flyable ^^ I remember, that this guy had prior some flying lessions and knew the basics of flight. That's all that I remember, does anyone know the name of this movie? I guess I had seen it in the early 2000's on TV. Probably 1980's or 1990's production line.

When I play chess on the Internet, which I do most days, it's a bit embarrassing at the end when it tells you how many blunders you have made. So nice to see that even the best chess players in the world make blunders. Can't believe he just left his Bishop undefended.

I'm trying to post a pic of my MSFS Aircraft Database, but I can't figure out what URLs are acceptable to the "Insert Image" button. I tried imgur and facebook, both times the box turned red and basically said "Nope, your link is no good here" lol.... So, can someone point me to a hosting server where I can post my pic that the forum software will accept? Thank you in advance!

Hello, I am interested in purchasing an item that is only sold and shipped in Australia. It is not flightsim related. I found a cool camping chair I like. It's an Oztrail Modena Folding camping chair. I don't know anybody in Australia. Otherwise, i could probably have them order it and ship it to me. Does anyone know of any other way, I could accomplish this purchase. Seems like all the cool stuff is in Europe. Kind sucks in the US for quality made cool stuff. Any insight/help appreciated. Thank You Best, David

  8. Interesting stuff! (for me at least) Some people may also find this a bit worrying or scary, especially the interview with the AI. All of it provides quite a bit of food for thought, and harkens back to another recent post attempting to predict humanity's future. Some of those predictions may have seemed a bit far-fetched, but a look closer to home at some things that are actually happening right now, may make one think again..... This reminds me of years ago, when people were allowed (including me) to interact with the CYC artificial intelligence as it made its first forays onto the web and began to learn more about people and the wor…

In today's tumultuous world of greed an violence and gotcha politics and just plain rudeness Our Vines Have Tender Grapes is 1945 movie with Edward G Robinson in a very atypical role and Margaret O'Brien that is delightful in a feel-good movie the likes of which I don't think film makers have either the will or the capacity to make these days. It's about a Norwegian farm family in Wisconsin during WW2. Robinson is the father and O'Brien is his 'jenta mi'. If you ever get chance to see it don't miss it. I give it ten stars. It brought to mind something my father told me when I was a teenager. "Happiness," he said, "Is being satisfied with what you have…

Hello! First of all, I would like to make it clear that I am not writing this topic for any "my sim vs your sim" argument. The latest announcement from PMDG came as a surprise for the entire sim community where they announced the plans of going into MSFS 2020 with their range of aircrafts. That's indeed a great news for the sim and for the new folks coming into this hobby! However, MSFS is not a change to me and I am sure there are many of you like me who doesn't really care about where MSFS is going to be after 2-3 years. Yes of course, its a new sim and it looks promising! But P3D isn't far behind either. There's tons of work put in by Lockheed Martin to …

As per the title, Aerosoft's new World of Aircraft: Glider Simulator is now available from the Aerosoft site although you will need a Steam account to install it. I'll be posting a review of this on my youtube channel later today. It lets you fly a couple of glider types, plus a towplane. It's pretty realistic in most respects, although already there are some things I noticed which the beta testers really should have spotted, for example, see if you can tell what is wrong in this screenshot I took of the Blanik's cockpit. I'll give you a clue: last time I checked, the sky was blue and the earth was brown:

Casualties of War For kids who grew up in the forties, World War II had a great influence on our games. We seldom played cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians. We were all soldiers or Marines storming the beaches of Guadalcanal or Anzio. The empty lot at the end of Larkin street was our battleground of choice. It sloped steeply down to Polk street, and it was brushy, steep, and had lots of hiding places. Another advantage the end of Larkin Street had was it's view of the bay. Many times we would interrupt our games to watch Navy warships, mostly destroyers or cruisers, but sometimes carriers or even a battleship, sail under the Golden Gate Bridge and …

  17. All I've used so far is Shadow Play (Geforce app) or whatever it's now called and if I run MSFS by vsync to 30hz, at 3440x1440, it's not smooth, which I can see is just too much for my system to do video capture and run the sim simultaneously. Are there more efficient capture recorders that can exploit multiprocessing better?

  18. With restrictions on public gatherings in the UK being lifted over the next couple of months how confident are you that there’ll be a flight sim show at RAF Cosford this autumn? I’m going to say 90% confident maybe with the proviso you’re only admitted with proof of having had your vaccinations.

I'm currently reading a book by one of the first women to become a fighter pilot in the RAF. She flew Tornados in the no-fly zone over Iraq. When she was training she said one of the hardest parts was memorizing checklists. I always thought that was a no-no. The going down the printed checklist or having a co-pilot read them off to was the way to go. I recall an incident when I was in the Air Force. I was doing something in the hangar and on the other side a load crew was qualifying for loading a nuclear weapon on a B-57. The crew chief was reading off the check list when the load crew was having a problem getting the fin of the weapon to clear the bomb…

  22. Hello, sorry to ask but I'm looking for from the long time two people - Xavier Carré or Jacques Godfrin from France (they did free Vietnam War Project scenery about 2010 and some RTMM sceneries for FS9/FSX) and they dont react to any emails from long, long time. Maybe you have an idea how to find them, or just one person. I did many mails, FB messages (I dont know which is theirs) but till now no sucess and Im still waiting for any reply. Its very important for me. Any piece of information would be of use to me, even the city or job or another person who might know them. I really appreciate any help and idea. 😀

Greetings all, I understand this is an old thread, but since 30 Apr 2021, my purchases with PayPal on SimMarket have not been completed and are in a Pending state. According to PayPal, the issue is they are waiting on information (maybe more than just my transaction) from SimMarket and cannot (or will not) complete the transaction. I've opened ticket after ticket with SimMarket only to have them immediately closed with the response "the problem is on Paypal side. Paypal refused your transaction to us so we didn't receive your money. Please conatct Paypal to resolve your issue." Notwithstanding the issue with SimMarket, I've been using PayPal since this transaction f…
