Does anyone have a recommendation for an ATC Simulator i.e. where you are the air traffic controller? There are a few out there but just wanted to see if there were some known good ones (or bad ones). Thanks, Alistair

Last week I said this one would be for you Fr Bill. I forgot why but here it is. Eating Possum Once I got over the blood lust stage with my new gun, shooting everything that moved, Uncle Bob told me that I should never shoot anything unless you are gong to eat it, or if it is a pest. Pests included gophers, blackbirds, and anything raiding Aunty Mit's garden. Edible game included quail and rabbits. One day I shot a possum. Now possums are not regarded as pests, at least in Salinas. But I had read in an Outdoor Life or Field and Stream magazine that people in the South ate possums. Therefore it was food, and I shot it. It was the first possum…

  5. After the release of the PMDG DC-6, it reminded me of how hard I tried to Lobby Mr. Randazzo for a PMDG Lockheed Electra. I did the same to Scott at A2A. With the Captain of the ship, I felt like the Electra would have been a perfect segue from the Connie. Same with PMDG, when I saw the detail, of the DC-6...I thought how cool would it be to have an Electra at that detail too. It was not too happen. About the only reason I could think of, is that most of the Avsim community had no interest. Yet, I recall when a while back, KPT released their Electra, folks were raving about it. Even now, Just Flight etal, released a Viscount, DC-6 . yet, they a…

  8. Fear the coming of the AI automods... (Maniacal mechanical laughter ensues) Facebook is testing AI to get you to stop fighting in its groups (CNN Business) Conversations can quickly spiral out of control online, so Facebook is hoping artificial intelligence can help keep things civil. The social network is testing the use of AI to spot fights in its many groups so group administrators can help calm things down. The announcement came in a blog post Wednesday, in which Facebook rolled out a number of new software tools to assist the more than 70 million people who run and moderate groups on its platform. Facebook, which has 2.85 billion monthly users, s…

Does anyone know anything about a usb pcb board GNS 430 from reality Xp? I just picked up a some Logitech hardware and the guy included a GNS 430 with knobs and buttons under a plastic overlay, no active screen but in the screen area it says reality Xp. I’ve scoured the internet and can’t find it anywhere. Would like to either set it up or sell it if it won’t work with msfs2020.

  11. Looking for online material on aircraft & airlines that flew Europe to Rio, roughly between 1900 & 1970. I think there was one at some stage that went from Paris to Casablanca, Casablanca to Rio. Possibly served by Flying Boats? Searching so far tends to throw up today's flights.😀 Thanks T45

I'm using Microsoft 365 with a license that is expiring next month. Another friend has shared (legally) one of his spare licenses with me, so can I just install the new download over the old install, or must I delete the current 365 install then install the new one? Thanks, in anticipation.

  15. I usually ignore the threads that seem destined to degenerate into the usual rubbish and name-calling after a few pages, but I was feeling like a bit of light relief just now and went to look at one and boom! It got closed while I was thinking about it! I guess God, or more accurately - Mod, is working in mysterious ways to preserve my better nature and stop me letting go with any (probably) regretable replies. Before I moved over here from the Orbx forum, I was frequently seeing mods comments there along the lines of "if you want to behave like that there are other forums where you can do that" (is it possible to type sniffily?) but now I'm here I quite enjoy occasi…

So my wife and I just spent a week at Watkins Glen in the upstate NY Fingerlakes. It happens to be one of my favorite places (not just because of the race track lol) so I thought I'd share... (Noel inspired me) The first picture is from the Gorge. The Gorge trail is ~ 1.5 mile long, comprised of 836 steps making a 1010 foot vertical climb in that 1.5 miles. It is comprised of 19 waterfalls along the trail with a 200 foot overlook of the gorge along the trail. First thing in the morning as the sun is rising it is a truly spectacular place. The fact it is right here in upstate NY makes us East Coasters very fortunate. You can actually see the different layers …

  22. A majority of folks around here are old enough to have heard of and possibly loved Dire Straits, a Brit group active and popular when personal computer became a mass consumer product and flight simulation took off as a hobby thanks to it. I am not very fond of covers in general but You Tube brought me this one and I was amazed to see how good the young lady is and that her generation, the dreaded millennials, know good music when they hear some. So here is Sina a drummin' Sultans of Swing (what else ?)

Hi. Well, as I was leaving our local Micro Center computer store in Houston, I looked over at a section of the magazines and there it was.....once again after quite a few years of not being there, was a bunch of the latest issue of PC Pilot. I have to take that as a good omen for the hobby and probably largely caused by MSFS. Just wanted to let you all in on that tidbit of information. I used to buy all of my copies from there and when they quit selling it, I then became a subscriber. Jeff

  25. I just... Wanted ya'll to know, if you own 3 Audi's by yourself.. You will be poor 1 day like me. Especially if 1 of them is a S4 B5. All 3 of them are broken in someway 1 has a broken upright, the other is leaking coolant badly, and the other other is a turbo blown. Any more Audi owners here? Am in the middel of fixing my 1.8 Turbo, while I want to fix my A4 B7 3.2 V6 with the broken upright, but in the meantime I daily drive my S4 which is screaming for attention by leaking coolant. Lol my life is a joke. 🥺
