You may have already seen them, but if not, recommended by me. 1. Raised by Wolves. Amazon Prime. 2. For All Mankind. Apple TV. 3. Man In The High Castle. Amazon Prime. 4. The Expanse. Amazon Prime. Feel free to add suggestions but remember, if its not science fiction, or nearly science fiction, it's illegal and not allowed. Aliens, space ships, other dimensions, other realities... all allowed.

I was looking up (dreaming about) some TBMs currently for sale and ran across this pic. I believe I've heard this "before landing" acronym mentioned before but wanted to get clarification from any actual TBM pilots out there. My best guess is below. LI GFFY p L - Lights I - Inertial Sep G - Gear F - Flaps To F - Flaps Full Y - Yaw Damp p - Pressurization??

I would not object to some historical WWII Tiger shark liveries for many warbirds which did in fact use them in the war (most always in the China theater). So, were not just for the Curtis P40 family! Osprey Aircam Aviation Series magazines are each 52 pages, you can see which livery was used with which military unit and lots and lots of performance and military use and location data. This eBay seller does not have all of the original set. He does add a few of the 'S' (special series); I'm not sure what they are. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254788807886?hash=item3b5298acce:g:zcYAAOSwAchd6t4O The regular series (his eBay listing …

One of my favorite military movies was on TCM last night. It's not a war movie but takes place in a Scottish town with a Scottish battalion that has been there for 200 years. Alec Guiness is the commander, an easy going acting colonel who rose through the ranks and got a battle field commission during WW2 in Africa against Rommel. He is replaced by John Mills, a Sandhurst colonel who spent WW2 in a POW camp. He's a strict spit and polish officer who disdains the former commander's easy going style even to scheduling dance lessons three mornings a week to replace the raucous dancing the officers are used to in the mess. It is a clash of leadership styles…

Photographing marsh and shore birds when there are reflections on the water make for nice pictures. I prefer rippley water to give the reflections a more surreal look. But glassy water mirror images are nice too. Also group picture reflections look nice too. If you can catch a bird just after takeoff or just before landing you can get an in flight reflection. 1 - American Avocet 2 - American White Pelicans 3 - Black-necked stilt 4 - Cormorants 5 -Eared Grebe 6 - Greater Yellowleg 7 - Snowy Egret 8 - Stilt Sandpiper 9 - Wilson's Phalarope Noel

So the Russians say they are pulling out of the ISS and building their own space station. Something tells me that given the state of the Russian economy, they won't be able to build much of a space station. Especially when they're building a Moon base jointly with China. But anyway, with private companies competing with each other, the US government, China and Russia, seems the new space race is on. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/apr/22/russia-well-leave-international-space-station-and-build-our-own

For those who can see the (UK) BBC website, it seems that we are not only destroying our earthbound environment but reaching further out with our litter. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/science-environment-56845104

Artists could draw and paint images that looked like images of birds, not like the birds themselves. Today photographers and lenses can make it look like the real thing, but not back then. Charles Wilson Peale opened an wonders emporium in Philadelphia. He was quite an artist too. At 82 years old he painted this self portrait in 1820 at the entrance of his establishment. Unlike PT Barnum there were no fakes, just pure science. At his feet on the left is his own taxidermist kit and a turkey ready to process. On the far wall was a golden row of famous portraits of America's founding fathers. On the right was the real wonder, proof that the mastodon was…

Hi everyone. I had a lot of people suggest I share this with you, so hopefully this is ok to post here I created a Boeing 747 cockpit out of LEGO and submitted it to the LEGO Ideas program (which can use your support). Features include: Detailed cockpit. Linked yokes (joysticks) with pitch movement (both with rotating handles). 4 independent throttle controls as well as flaps and spoiler levers. Instrument panels including main display, center console and overhead console. Sliding seats and moving armrests (seats slide via a hidden channel after using the drop away floor lever - pretty cool). Sheepskin covers too. External fuselag…

This is awesome, but the scary feeling I get is wondering about the lack of visibility caused by the clouds. Is there such a thing as IFR for people in wingsuits, filing a flightplan, personal transponders, etc.? 🤣😱😆😧🤔💀

Hi, I was involved in the flight sim scene some 20 years ago with Falcon 4.0 and took a break for more than a decade to focus on racing sims. Well I have just got back into flight sims and am blown away by the latest visual offerings in DCS World. A new cloud rendering engine has been implemented into this military sim - changing the whole feel of the experience. This is a 4k60 video starting in a rain squall before emerging into clear skies. Hope you enjoy it! https://youtu.be/QUXpdhHmyvg

We space fans are all very excited about Elon's Spaceship landing on the Moon and Mars but there's something else to get excited about thats barely mentioned... its the Lunar Gateway that will be in orbit around the Moon. A space station that we will build to aid astronauts visiting the Moon. This guy will be smaller than the ISS but more sophisticated and with the latest tech. But there's something else... it will be equipped with an observatory to watch out for asteroids. Orbiting the Moon, free of all the junk orbiting the Earth, it will stand a much better chance of spotting those nasty chunks of rock threatening our existance. https://en.m.wikipedia.o…
