The title leaves the door open for the several naughty individuals we have on the forum. Joking aside, an entire rocket including engines in 60 days.

Was waiting to push out a Loganair Embraer 145 at around 9.30 this morning, when I saw a bunch of fire engines heading for the runway and parking up waiting for something coming in. Chatting to the Embraer crew and listening to ATC - since ATC had stopped all pushes and starts - we learned that the fire crews were waiting for a Jet2 B737 which was making a landing with a problem. Specifically it had taken off from I think Dublin, en route for Palma, but had a hydraulic failure in the left engine over the English Channel, and so diverted to Manchester because Jet2 had a replacement aeroplane available at EGCC (loads actually, there's still many of them parked up). The aero…

Awesome to see the original 1982 Flight Simulator inducted. It's absolutely changed my life for the past 40 years! I remember my first FS experience on my Commodore 64. Can't believe how large a part of my life FS has actually been. Great to see it get the accolades it deserves! https://www.engadget.com/world-video-game-hall-of-fame-2021-inductees-193936184.html

NASA willhave spent $1 billion on suits that won`t be ready for 2024. Of course, the colours and style will be all wrong when the suits are finally ready... I mean, who would want to go to the Moon dressed inappropriately, eh? read about it here: https://oig.nasa.gov/docs/IG-21-025.pdf

I've started simming in Flordia because of the interesting weather. There are a lot of airports compared to other regions. Why? Especially if the weather can be so dangerous.

Thanks Charlie, I almost forgot... Yo-Yo Season It was a beautiful Spring day. Much too nice to have been cooped in school all day. We were sitting at our desks looking at the clock. Two minutes to go. The minute hand slowly inched its way to the 12 and the last bell of the day rang. 3:00 o'clock! Schools out! We jumped from our desks and began to race out of the room. "Slow down there," said Sister Mary Catherine, "and keep the noise down." "Yes Sister," we replied, and continued racing out the door and down the stairs to the front door. They were right there on the sidewalk in front of the school. The yo-yo guys. Two of them. They had a yo-…

Any of you that get Sporty's catalog will notice an MSFS2020 screenshot on the cover of an aircraft over Jackson Lake with the Tetons in the background. Sporty's is big on flight simulation the first 21 pages of the catalog is devoted t flight simming. I think they are selling almost all of low to moderately priced yokes, sticks, and throttles. The cover screenshot is a magnificent rendition of Jackson Hole. But P3Dv5 ain't that bad either. And for me the difference isn't worth the price of MSFS2020 and a new computer to run it. This morning I took the following screen shot of my Kodiak in roughly the same area over Jackson Lake. The only scenery enhancement is…

Wow... Talk about violating just about every safety practice and the FO has his iphone out filming the whole thing. Thank goodness someone called for power just before they slammed down, probably the only thing that kept the fuselage alive! I mean I know it's Paro which is one of the most difficult approaches in the world but this was so far from a controlled approach compared to other videos like the one below. That was just a horrible approach and decision not to Go-Around https://www.airlineratings.com/news/incredible-video-insane-landing-indonesian-airline/ What it should look like... https://youtu.be/ZBNhwOeOf4Q

I just found out my driver license has been suspended due to something that happened over 37 years ago. I had a learner's permit and wanted to practice a bit so I went to the deserted parking lot of the nearby shopping center at 8am. I came around the corner at the end and saw a cop eating breakfast in the movie theater parking lot. I got scared and took off. Next thing I know I've got three cops all with guns drawn pointed at me. had to go to court. had to pay a fine. had to go to traffic school and I did all of that. I then moved to another state (still a young teen) and never thought much of it because I got a new learners permit and then driver lice…

I really hope this makes it past the moderators. It's not meant to be political, just comments and memories. I just watched the video of Jesse Callahan's funeral service. It quite an impressive ceremony but, for me, not so at the end. The minister had a good handle on WW2 and it's aftermath. Just a record player to play Taps at Jesse's memorial service. No 21 gun salute. No military officer to hand Gail the folded flag. Doug Brown's father, also a WW2 vet and transport pilot, died last year. Doug got the local National Guard troops to form a firing squad for the 21 gun salute and he hired a bugler to play taps. It's a shame those aren't provide…
