Hangar Chat

This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar.  Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here.  Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc.  Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view.  We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

  1. Looking for a great app to control via a apple iPad the systems on the newly released PMDG 737 checkout Remotevirtualcockpit on apples app store The applications of the Remote Virtual Cockpit collection allow you to have many aspects of the aircraft under control during the flight. By simply looking at the simplified interface and interacting with the controls, it is possible to act on: electrical components (batteries, alternators, avionics) engines (starters, pumps, fuel flows, heating) flight settings (flaps, wheels, trim, aero brakes) autopilot (level flight, altitude, rate of ascent and descent) radio (communication, navig…

Hi found this awesome site that will show which scheduled direct flights come from every every airport in the world. It's really resourceful if you're looking to find what real world scheduled flights fly to and from even the most remote airports in the world. Of course, if you select LAX, it'll show you all the places that have direct flights to it as well. Give it a look!! https://www.flightconnections.com/

  6. @188AHC With all due respect did you actually read my opening post in the thread linked above? It quite clearly states that the use of an Ad Blocker is not suitable (possible) for Mobile Devices that these issues specifically affect, it states that two other Mods have acknowledged there's an issue and I was clearly asking - politely - for an update. I find your and other Mods shunning and sweeping of this issue under the carpet incredibly frustrating (as per the linked thread this issue has been persistent since at least Autumn 2021), especially when it's clearly obvious it's a major issue that needs to be fixed, hence my polite request for an update. To just lock the …

  7. Hi, I would like to respectively ask for an update to the intrusive adverts associated when using AVSim on a Mobile (Phone/tablet) device please, this issue has been ongoing for months now and has very recently got worse with some new Google Competition pop up when browsing the forum. @Bob Scott stated over a month ago "we are looking at this and addressing it with the ad provider", any update to this please? For reference these issues started around October last year (see link below) and the "the AVSIM tech has been made aware of the situation and is working on it!" to quote @charliearon To reiterate; The issue is the extremity of the pop-up fullscreen ads…

All though I swore I wouldn't, I have to post this subject again. In the United States today it's Memorial Day. That's the day we remember those who gave their lives for our country and world freedom. I never knew my father. He died a month before I was born. He never returned from Guadalcanal. All I can say is, I love you Dad. And God bless the United States Marine Corps. And God bless America.

  10. Not everyone of us needs a subscription based for the charts services. I wish Navigraph would offer an additional option for those who like to use the Navigraph charts service on just that 1 month. I don't need to have the latest charts every month. In fact I'm fine with just downloading one cycle and using that for many years to come. If Navigraph were to offer something ilke this, it would attract more users. Imagine paying like a $30 one time fee and you get to download and keep all those charts for that cycle for the rest of your life with the ability to use the navigraph charts service on the EFB and app as well.

Anyone catch the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series yet? We should probably start a thread on it. I like reliving the Star Wars nostalgia so the recaps from the 90's era films was a good tie in, and I think that young Leia Organa was great with her sass, just what you would imagine Leia to be like at that age. Kind of a slow start but that it what these TV Series are like these days. Looking forward to Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Darth Vader, as he is older now I think it is a great opportunity to take this on again, so far we've just had one glimpse of him. And of course I like Ewan McGregor as Ben Kenobi, now that he is aged he is closer to the 'Old Ben' era that Al…

  21. Just two months after their first album they appeared on ATV. In colour! Maddy Prior and Tim Hart were a struggling London folk duo and Ashley Hutchings left Fairport Convention, a traditional British folk band after an automobile accident had decimated it. This is the earliest video of them I'm almost sure. And was restored from an old home video tape with digital processing. Music from centuries past.
