Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

I love OnAir, but all of these career programs just generate way to many jobs (my opinion) to be realistic (again, my opinion). in a small mom & pop company, say with no more than 2-4 other hired staff/pilots etc. how many flights would they get in a week? I know there are tons of variables but…

The self-driving car designed and built by the Politecnico of Milano (Italy), which is currently the fastest self-driving car in the world. The performance was obtained in Florida, on the NASA airstrip, where the car reached an average speed of 309.3 kilometers per hour over 1 km in two consecutive attempts in the opposite direction in order to cancel the influence of the wind, thus overcoming the previous record of Roborace, which did not exceed 282.4 km / h. In a few days the Italian team will try to repeat the feat on Atlanta auto track. https://youtu.be/HXE-rP2FkeU

Hey all, My friend and I will be starting an around the tour trip with the PMDG 737 when it comes out from MSFS. We are planning on compiling a list of all the places we would like to go and will be working our way through slowly. Fun is the name of the game here, and we'll take our time. With all that being said, are there any amazing airports that you would recommend? It could be a gem of an airport that's unknown to most, someplace cool within MSFS itself, somewhere with interesting/challenging approaches, etc. Only limiting factor is the runway needs to be long enough for our 737's (a little dirt or gravel never hurt anyone either)! Thanks!

Well an exaggeration of what really happened but George Lucas who sold the rights to his move franchise to Disney for at least 3 billion dollars, started out by making a movie based on his hobby. Which was listening in to scanner radio broadcasts, like the aviation bands. He was a student at USC University in Los Angeles majoring in Cinematic Arts. In graduate school for a class he was supposed to make a film. He took sound recorded from the scanner radio of ATC and made his Sci Fi 16mm feature Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB. "Runways" became actual ways along which runners were fleeing for their lives out of a police state of the future. The assemblage of the …

This morning, an Air France 777 landing on the 26L at LFPG did not respond to the pilots' commands. They finally managed to go around at only 1,200 ft then hold 4,000ft and returned to Paris CDG for a safe landing on runway 27R. In the link, the description of the problem with the audio between the pilots and the tower. https://www.airlive.net/breaking-pilots-of-air-france-af11-reported-their-boeing-777-didnt-react-to-commands-on-final-approach-to-paris-cdg/amp/
