Samsung are to allow owners to repair their devices themselves. https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/31/tech/samsung-self-repair-program/index.html " Samsung is the latest tech company giving customers the ability to repair their own mobile devices amid pressure from consumers, regulators and even US President Joe Biden to ease restrictions on fixing products. The company announced on Thursday a new program that will allow users of some of its flagship Galaxy devices to repair their own products, giving them and third-party fixit companies access to genuine parts, repair tools and visual step-by-step repair guides for the first time. Previously, Sa…

In memory of Learjet officially stopping production, it made me think. What is the best rendition of a realistic Learjet 45 in flight sim? Is it the Aerofly FS 2 version? FSX with panels? Would love to fly the lear 45 again.

  3. As the title. I had been exchanging notes with them about various issues with their new app and I was advised that they were going to allow downloads again, from the website, as well as the app. I assume In response to various comments. I can confirm it has happened and all products can now be downloaded as originally, without installing the new app.

I would like to invite you to the 'old' Air Force. It was much simpler back then. Hard to believe that the venerable old B-52 with a change of shoes, socks and underwear is still flying those mission of yesteryear. Join Jimmy Stewart as he spends 25 minutes showing you the Air Force I remember when I was a young 23 year old Airman three striper with a whole life ahead of me. In 1959 I was stationed at Johnson Air Force Base in Japan. The 3rd Bomb Wing was flying B-57 Canberras at the time. You old timers might remember the year. I'm sure you'll remember Jimmy Stewart as he narrates the piece. Noel

  6. Hello, I have such a specific question. There are a number of channels on Youtube that contain videos from MSFS. For example, this channel https://www.youtube.com/c/theflightchannel/ makes videos that are monetized by advertising, with a link to Patreon and a link to the online store in the description. So I'm wondering if it's okay in terms of any rights with regard to Microsoft, or if, for example, the owner of that channel has an agreement with Microsoft? I tried to find some information on this topic from Microsoft, but I didn't find it.

  7. I'm stunned that the (formally) mysterious Salvatore Pais has done an interview. This was the scientist behind the Navy patents that many have suggested are responsible for the so called tic tac UFO's. Not much was known about him, except that he works for the Navy and generated some amazing patents relating to gravity manipulation and physics defying behaviour. This may help if you've not heard of him... https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/28729/docs-show-navy-got-ufo-patent-granted-by-warning-of-similar-chinese-tech-advances If the concept he talks about is feasible, it has mind-blowing implications. The navy were convinced enough to t…

I think electric cars are just the thing for people like me. I've only put 2200 miles on my car in 2 1/2 years. Those of us who are getting pretty old have lost some situational awareness and attention span and like me try to avoid driving long distances on highways with posted speed limits of 70 and 80 miles an hour. I only use my car to go to market and to medical appointments. It can sit idle in my carport for over a week sometimes. An electric car with an at home charger is ideal. We don't need range and most of all we don't need gasoline although I only fill up two or three times a year now. That Chevrolet Bolt looks like just what a person…

I had my quarterly checkup with my primary care guy yesterday and he told me to come back and see him in three months. I went to the receptionist and said, "Three months." She looked at her screena and said how about 1 O'Clock on June 6th. I said, "D-Day." She said, "What's D-Day?" I suddenly felt terribly old. Noel

Ridiculous to me anyway... When was the last time you encountered a leaking AA or AAA battery? Before last night I think I have encountered maybe four or five leaking batteries in my entire life. It was never an issue. But last night one of my remotes stopped working and I open it up and saw that both batteries were leaking... one considerably. I cleaned it up as best I could but until I figure out how to open the remote and clean it better, I'll consider it non working. I got curious and started checking my other remotes and battery operated devices all of which still worked and the batteries in nearly all of them were leaking to some degree. This was bo…

When my wife had to get a new phone to replace her old flip phone because the old one wouldn't work in 5G she opted for a flip phone. I've been thinking of getting one myself and switching from T-Mobile to Consumer Cellular and saving about 100 bucks a month. Apparently many people are having the same thoughts. Found tis scrolling through google news this morning. Dumbphones are continuing to enjoy a revival. Google searches for them jumped by 89% between 2018 and 2021, according to a report by software firm SEMrush. And while sales figures are hard to come by, one report said that global purchases of dumbphones were due to hit one …

A stray cat has been camping out on our back porch. It has been sleeping on one of our patio chairs. We've been putting food and water out for it. This morning I went out and started talking softly to it as I do almost every morning. But this morning, instead of getting up and walking or running away it let me pet it. I call it it because I have not yet gotten close enough to determine it's sex. But it seems it might become friendly enough to join the household. It will be cat number 5 for us. It's a very light colored cat so I think I'll call it Blondie. Noel

I enjoy flight sims (clearly) but I have to admit it's not my first love when it comes to pass times. The sport I enjoy most during my leisure time is sailing, fortunately my wife enjoys it also (don't go there😉)........ Two person sailing dinghies like you might see in the Olympics, at a club on the south coast of the UK where we race. It's a fantastic sport with lots of flying (flightsim) crossover considerations.......Total concentration, can get quite technical, safety and responibility are paramount, weather is a big feature, a big vertical wing or 3 depending on boat type (3 in our case), under water wings, rudder, centre board instead of aerofoils..........saili…
