I think the release notice on AVSIM's homepage of X-Plane 10 is a little premature, as it hasn't been released yet! December 7'th is the ship date (Although they are taking pre-orders). Also the link doesn't link to the developer home page, X-Plane.com, rather to X-plane.org which is a independent site

This might not be the right place for this, but it was the only one I could find. How would a company go about adding their support forum to the "Commercial Support Forum" section of your forums? Is there a particular person to contact? Thanks,Justin Friedland

Hello AllThis is not an FS question , but I would like to pick the collective brains of AVSIM if you don't mind.I have a particularly irritating problem. This is what happens. When i turn on my pc and say go to AVSIM (or any website ) everything thing is fine for a few minutes ,but after a short short-while my mouse pointer will 'stick' and lag , typing a forum query the letters will take a fraction of a second to display (sticking) this is very frustrating. After a further ten fifteen minutes or so this sticking lagging issue resolves itself .I believe its something to do with 'latency' I have tried various 'solutions' but nothing has really worked (updated various d…

Hello FolksWhen i post in the forums my 'photo' is that of a pharaohs head. this fine head used to shimmer in a rather marvelous manner ,however it is now static. When I look at my profile settings there indeed is the original head shimmering as it used to , but when I try to add that to my profile it just remains stubbornly unshimmering .Any way i can reinstate my shimmering head.cheers Andy

I appreciate the fine article about PMDG's 737NGX! I did not find any information about WXR Radar. Is this system functional with this add-on.

The AVSIM home page states that the scenery catagory, ASE wins a Bravo Zulu Award. How is this possible when ASE is a "utility" just like REX that won the award in the utility catagory in 2010 and FS Widgets in 2011? Isn't scenery supposed to be land based like airports or cities? Is this a typo on the home page? Is AVSIM just handing out awards with no thought? There were plenty of great scenery released. ASE is a good utility, but not even close to an award winning scenery.

Sorry people but I just had to post this here. I have been flying Microsoft (may have been microprose at some point...) since 1987 on my monochrome (green and black) pc. I have been a faithful follower of all the great minds in this forum, although I never said anything...., but now I am taking the plunge... I am building my own 737NG cockpit. So help me God....LOL. This is a tribute to you people for the dedication and patience you have portrayed all these years, and I hope that my own dedication and patience will be a small reflexion of what I have learned here.Thank you again.Cheers,Ben

Back in approx March 2004 a scenery file for 'Sydney Sea Base Scenery' was made available for FS2004 (see 'sydcbase.zip). It's a nice little packet which I'm lead to believe was compiled by a group of developers with Clive Marriott in conjunction with Avsim. I'm a keen hobby enthusiast of FSX and would dearly love to be able to obtain either an update of this package for FSX or a simple utility that would allow me to convert the FS2004 files that I have to hand to FSX. I love flying amphibious aircraft and would like to build on scenery for Aussie application to be able to place other seaplane type facilities throughout the FSX Australian area. I'de be very surprised if …

I am using FS9 and have no intention of moving to FSX. I see by the many downloads available daily that I am not the only one. To save me and others time and effort, why not show, on the reviews adn news page, which copy of FS that particular article is for. I really do not need to open a review or news article that is solely for FSX and does not apply to me. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.

Like many others, I'm not slow to voice my displeasure on the forums when I think a developer has failed to respect their customers. So it's only fair to also be quick to say "thank you" and give some praise when a developer goes above and beyond expectations. Aerosoft just released a new version of their very old Megascenery Budapest 2007 scenery. The original is one that was first released in the early days of FS9 and it shows its age. The new release is essentially a brand new product and like everything Aerosoft releases, it is excellent. They could easily have treated it as a new product but they did not, and instead have released it as a free upgrade to existing cus…

I can't believe that Billy is gone. There are very few true "captains" in our community and there will be a huge hole left in FS with his passing. Billy was a prolific FS contributor - repaints and flight plans. He always had time to answer questions and I don't believe I can remember finding any errors in his work.Billy, we will truly miss you and may God hold your soul among the clouds in heaven. Good flying Billy.Frank Bass

I've completed the survey, got the link http://www.justflight.com/product.asp?pid=519 and the discount code, but unluckily I can't finish checkout but inserting a valid credit card data. That's asking too much for a free product.

Greetings:I am relatively new to your website and have been trying to find a specific subject slash problem on your site now for a while unsuccessfully. Now please do not mistake this as is a complaint, just wondering,( read frustrated) why can I Google my problem and they take me right to your website and the people on your site that answer my question but when I try to find the subject through your site I cannot even get close to finding the subject that I am looking for? To be fair, the answers I was looking for are a couple of years old and Google took me to,I assume to your archives but I still could not find the posts when I went to your website.I used the same wor…

Just read the Free JustFlight Hurricane offer on the front page in exchange for answering a Mobile application Survey. (Which is a very generous offer) The story implies there is no catch, well apparently there is. It requires you to open an account with them, which by itself is not a problem, but it also requires the entry of credit card information. As I don't have a card of the issuer type required, that sort of leaves me out. I tried just entering zeroes in the credit card field, which was what was done, when they offered the free archer, but that just resulted in an error. I just post this so others are aware.

Hi,I, and several others, have had a problem with the Avsim webshop, and since there apparently is no way to contact them, I am now trying this way since they are allowed to use the Avsim name. You can see details of the problem on this link: http://forum.avsim.n...voxatc-version/ In short, they are selling an old version of the product without mentioning it on the website, and people buy it and then discover that they have to pay a lot of money to upgrade to the newest version. They cannot even contact the shop to complain about this practice. Personally I got help from the creator of the product, but not everyone have been that lucky. Regards,Helge

Dear Avsim staff, some time ago avsim had a newly designed webstie and also an upgraded file library. But you´ve reverted back just one day after due to heavy preasure by the members. Afterwards an specific topic was opened for all the ones who want to help to redesign the webstie and ther was one guy who did the work. I haven´t heared any news about this. Is this redesign under work or will it all remain the way it is now?

Hello Folks First let me say this not in anyway a ranty moan.I seem to remember recently a thread about the forum subjects order. If I recall correctly a poster wanted the FSX,FS9 sections to be at the top of the menu's selection. I also recall that the thread went a bit pear shaped.Anyways pears aside. I haven't REALLY been put out by having to scroll down to FS9/X sections as I check in each day to see what is going on.But I am having a change of heart! I do think it would be better If the first AVSIM forum topics available for viewing could be the FSX/9 sections. It just seems to be neat and tidy that way.IMOCHEERS andy This is just a thought ,If you don't like my i…

Avsim, You have "open clouds" listed in the nominations for "best freeware utlity." open Clouds is not freeware as far as I know, it is payware. There is an even better weather add-on that is 100% freeware, it's called FSRealWX lite, found at the link below. http://www.rs-transline.de/index.php?page=self&id=2# Thanks.

You are no doubt aware that the MRAI Website closed at the end of September. They said that they intended to uplaod their files to AVSIM, but this doesn't appear to have happened. There are lots of MRAI flightplan packages in the AVSIM library, but unfortunately not the MRAI Installer.I am surprised that no-one seems to have suggested uploading the Installer package to the AVSIM library.I have a copy of the MRAI Installer V1.24, which I believe is the latest one. Would there be any objection to my uploading it to the AVSIM library?David Hanstater

Dear Avsim Friends, I am so sad that you have so quickly cancelled the Fancon (or was it Fancom?). I not only registered with you, paid by paypal, but also purchased two airline tickets to Washington Dulles :-( trusting you. I have been able to cancel our hotel reservations. So I will lose at least $300, but the disappointment is greater. I greatly enjoyed the Fancon at Denver a few years ago, and would certainly have attended the one in Orlando, FL, if held. ~ You did not get sufficient early registrations, for what I think as the main reasons, because (1) you only casually pushed the act of registering, and (2) your prices were too high. Your announcements, if …

I have not heard anything yet, but is the AVSIM board meeting still scheduled for 10/14-10/16? Will it be at the Hyatt or some other hotel? Hopefully I will able to attend any festivities associated with the meeting. Thanks for any information! Airbus
