Letters to the Editorial Staff of AVSIM

All, Just wondering if AVSIM could start an "Unofficlal" Digital Aviation forum ??? I just recently noticed that DA went out of business and discovered I can no longer join the DA forum (at least I can't figure out any way to register)... I still fly the DA Cheyenne all the time and it's one of my absolute favorite planes... I just recently deactivated the Trimble and installed the RXP GNS530... They really have made some of the best FS planes around and thought it might warrant a support forum...Regards,Scott

I am questioning this. A user "Gary8097" and "Richard8098" joined a day apart they both commented on my profile which I have recently deleted their comments. Gary asked how I was doing and I responded good and you and he never responded but then 1 hour later Richard posted that he was doing well or something like that. To add to the fact they haven't logged in since they posted on my profile. They logged in posted on my profile and haven't been seen since. They haven't read a forum post yet.I am questioning these 2 people since the last 4 digits in their name are the same except 1 number apart and the "name" part is just a name. This seems fishy.

I dont know if its a problem for me only but...On my settings my timezone is correct, it also says that the time in my current zone is 23:04 12/08/10which is correct, but, when i post a topic or post an a topic, the time is out, i just posted on a topic about 5 mins ago and it said the time of post was 4:38pm...What do i need to change or do to resolve this?*****Nevermind, for some reason its just updated itself, even tho the timezone has changed for me*****Liam

I would really, really like to see BOLD TOPIC FONTS used in the forums to make them easierto read/scan.As it is now the light topic type is difficult to read, compared to other forums thatuse a BOLD type.As an example, have a look at the two forums below to see what I am talking about. I have always found it curious, amusing, but mostly irritating that a simulation website places all of the simulation forums rather far down on the page. I am a regular follower of the FS2004 forum and for years have had to scroll down the page to find it.I was hoping that the "new" forum would have addressed that issue. Alas, I was wrong. So far (I've only been on the new forum for 15 minutes or so) I am loving the new forum. Looks modern, up to date, has great options, etc. In short: it's great! And all that for free! :( I also noticed the new Avsim logo at the top left, which I like! I don't want to insult annyone, but that old logo was er... not as nice. :( Now my only hope is that the Avsim site itself will get a similar new look, because that one really is er... old. Again, I don't want to hurt anybody, because I know this is all a labor of love, but I am really looking forward to the new site. Now of course the reviewer was using FS2004 I'm using FSX-SP2. I was just wondering what the news is as the product has been around for a few years. It has been updated regularly but nothing really worth calling it a "new calculator". Or is there something I'm not seeing? Their website seems unchanged too.

Dear Sir, I am lucky enough to be an instructor on the 777-300ER simulator in Sydney, Australia. I have also flown the real 777, so I guess I am not a complete novice. Firstly, sincere congratulations to the team who produced the Just Flight 777 Professional. The UK government have recently passed the 'Digital Economy Bill' which will come into effect in a year from now. This bill has been rushed through without proper debate and is a quick and easy way to crack down on illegal downloaders. This gives them the right to automatically shutdown any websites that contain the slightest amount of illegal content or even a link (which can be posted by anyone) to illegal content. The bill will allow them to do this without warning! Is there any chance that this could affect AVSIM even though you're not UK based?

During an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, I lost my installation files for My Traffic 2010 witch I bought from Simpilot - The Avsim Store. When I log into my account there is no link in order for me to download the files again.However in my mailbox I have all necessary order information from the time of purchasing, including PayPall reciept and order confirmation from the Avsim Store.How do I get on from here??Kind regards, Morten

Dear staff,I just checked the AVSIM File Library recently, keen on looking on that Garuda Indonesia 757 on the POSKY model, and I was wondering, if that file has been returned. If it hasn't, is this file retainable?

Yesterday I purchased the C185F SKYWAGON BUSH Carenado-C185F-Bush-FSX at your Avsim store using my PayPal account. I got a confirmation email and the link to download. I started the download, got 6.327KB and was cut off and unabele to finish the download. Now, nothing appears in my account available to download and under my receipt this is there "We will hold your order until payment has been fully funded and processed through the PayPal website. Orders not funded are subject to cancellation."So, how do I get my product?This will probably be my first and last purchase. I am most disappointed.

When you post an item on the news page, please could you check that any URL that is supplied by the vendor actually goes somewhere relevant?I've followed the link in the article on Flight Simulation Manager from FSPS but can't see any reference to it on the company's web site, and their latest (but not relevant) news item is dated mid-March.
