Any chance of enabling image upload within the FSWiki? What I'm wanting to do is put up graphs of the 'Petraeus Index' at regular intervals, but right now all I've got is an entry decribing it but no way of putting up the actual figures. http://linux.myalbemarle.org/wiki/index.ph..._Petraeus_Index

We want to share a sad story had happened recently. We, as fsrunway , had an affiliate partnership with simMarket.About 2 weeks ago, our account was blocked, without any warning.Naturally, we communicated with simmarket, and the respond was shocking. They were accusing us to distrube our mail account and let others to download , so , that's why they blocked us .Of course, we don't accept such a pirate activity, and asked for more details, such as a list containing IPs used the account, when it had occured ,and the reason why we were not warned when it had happened. But we didn't have any answer for them, nothing as answer. We asked again, no answer. We sent fax messages, but s…

What can be more enjoyable than a good belly laugh? So how about a section for jokes connected with flying? As an example here's one, no longer relevant, but never the less, amusing. .......................................................................................................................................................................This is a story published in the Chicago Tribune "Travel" section for Sunday, June 6, 1999 in a story entitled "Choppy Sides - A white-knuckle flight on Air Zimbabwe" by Gaby Plattner. It seems that Plattner was travelling with a backpacking group through Africa and they found themselves waiting in Kariba airport for a flight to H…

I wrote a comment about the A2A P-47 review that stated there is a manual available and gave the appropriate directions to find it. I felt this was important as it was one of the reviewers two negative points listed. After posting my comments a message was displayed that stated my comments would be sent for moderation. I believe I made the post around 48 hours ago and it still hasn't been accepted or "published", is this normal? And while I'm on...I'm not a regular poster at Avsim, but I am a frequent visitor. I much prefer the new forum layout, but every time I move pages I have to hit refresh for it to appear, again is this normal? Thanks in advance for your help.Happy Ne…

It's difficult to convey how much I appreciate everything that the staff of AVSIM provides for my entertainment.I've been hanging around here for quite a few years and have been amazed how such great improvements have been achieved. While I do not wish to single out specific staff members for the Flifht Sim Medal of Hono(u)r but must say how greatful I am for those who man the controls on holidays. They selflessly give of their valuable personal time for us.May you all have a great holiday season and the most successful 2009. :( Gary

Be on the lookout for what I have been 'told about'..."If any attempt is made by you or other users to defame us on Avsim.com or publish the contents of any of our mails their service providers will also be informed of breaches of their agreements with their service providers."

The Avsim Store now carries products from Flight1 Software and Wilco Publishing. This includes top titles like Wilco A380 v2, the new Hawker Hunter or the exiting Tower Simulator.

To the administrator:OK, I posted a question here and received an E-Mail about the message on October 30. I didn't get the chance to check the forum until today, but when I click on the link in the E-Mail I get some information displayed on my browser that the link cannot be displayed and that maybe the administrator removed the message. Are messages removed that quickly? It has only been 4 days!:-(

This is just an observation but recently I have downloaded an 'Original Aircraft' in the FSX area of the library and after opening them found them to be FS9 or FS 2004. I Thought we check them before adding them to the library. What gives and do we need to check them first????Bill HarmonMember and user for several years home of the founder in Peoria, IL

Hi,My name is Derick. I'm an avid Sim Pilot flying for Knight Air VA.Our site is maintained by a great guy who is going through some tough times and as a result can't spend time sorting it out.The web site is in need of some maintenance and TLC from anyone who knows VB. I'm just wondering if you could help in sending out some feelers or puting a few lines on Avsim hoping that as a result, some volunteer could come out and help.Yours Sincerely,DerickKNT060www.knightair.org

I have seen more than a few Pre-Flight news items come across the wire over the last few weeks.I have two problems with these blurbs: (1) they aren't really flight simulation news items - they are *R/C* simulation news items, which I have not seen before on Avsim over the last five or more years, and (2) they are not really "freeware" since the hosting application is, as far as I can tell, a payware product (notwitstanding than the "free" demo version). Therefore, I will submit that these items are mis-represented and not really germane to what most folks here are interested in.My cynical side tells me that advertising revenue is involved, but I hope that I'm proven wrong…

/rantonToday's front page displays one of my pet peeve about AVSIM ... the front page categories. Here is the example. Today, there is a file shown on the front page under the category: "FSX Helicopters."So, you'd either think this file has something to do with an FSX helicopter, or is a helicopter. But, you'd be wrong. The file isn't an FSX helicopter, the file isn't a helicopter at all, and doesn't concern an FSX helicopter, and is a repaint that cannot be applied to an FSX helicopter. The file is a repaint of an Alphasim helicopter. So, maybe it should be filed under the category: 3rd Party Add-on Repaints./rantoff

Have the owners quit without taking down their we site?I, and apparently others, have attempted to purchase products only to be unable to activate the files. we get into a circular loop without ever getting the required information. I bought the product based on glowing reviews in AVSIM but am frustrated to say the least. How about some investigation by AVSIM and publishing your findings.

Perhaps it is just me but I find it a chore to read the new files listings when blank lines are inserted indiscrimiately and IMO needlessly. Part of the problem may be my colorblindness; I use the blank line more than the heading/text color difference as a section separator. This is certainly not a show-stopper but it does make it harder for me to read the list. Thanks for listening.R-Ron BroylesSan Antonio TX USA
