I understand and fully support that AVSIM is an international community and political differences should not play a role. But I was deeply concerned to see an AI package uploaded recently for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard by "FreightShifters." The IRG is an identified active supporter of international terrorism and the "freight" they are likely to be carrying is going to include materials being distributed to carry out terrorist acts around the world. Dear Avsim and to all interested in aviation security,I noticed today a post on someone learning to fly. That is all well and good, but usually when one learns to fly they front up to a flying school. I know I sound 'biased', but don't you have to be somewhat biased in order to maintain security on aircraft?Avsim is an awesome place to go to for the flight simmer (and I fly myself in real world), but I think if we can't see that it could be open for abuse then we are allowing another 9/11. This is unbelievable. You download this new paint, and to open the aircraft you have to click on a series of webpages in Turkish to get a "password" it reeks of malware, and even if you are brave enough to go to the suspicious webpage to get the "password", it is never given. I remember some months ago there was a countdown clock with reference to the new Avsim website and then out of nowhere the new forum appeared and the clock disappeared.Am I to understand the clock was intended for the new forum or a new front end that has yet to appear?My impression was that we were to expect a new website and logo with the launchThanks.

Dear Eds,Just wondering if you'd consider doing a story on Cascade.More directly, just wondering if you'd be able to get the "real story" - they seem to be in hibernation and their facebook page is getting spammed by Income At Home and Miracle Diet ads and so forth.I believe personally it's over for them, at least as far as any type of flight simulator may go, but would really like to be able to find out from a reputable source.thanks,Andrew

Firstly, I wanted to thank, once again, the wonderful spirit and support that AVSIM has given the flightsim community. I have been wondering if AVSIM is considering trying to hold their convention (fancon) this year at all. It was cancelled last year and with the situation being what it is in the job market and MS stopping its development of FS (at least for now, pending more news in the future under a different "formula"), I wondered if the fancon idea will continue. It is just over a year since AVSIM laid information about the alleged hacker with the Metropolitan Police in the UK. Have the authorities reached any decision about prosecution?

I can't download any files from AVSIM Online, is it the website's fault or my internet's?

HeyWhen I want to download I see lots of "AI Aircrafts". What does that mean ? Are they somehow different of other aircrafts ? Do you need any special thing to download them ? Thanks for answering

The print color in the FSX Forum is now a washed out very light blue and is very hard to read.I like the new Gorum concept BUT the PRINT TYPE NEEDS TO BE A DARK BLACK like the old forum print color.Many of us old timers eyesight isn't what it use to be and at 81 yrs here I find it terriblyhard to see, Please go back to old BLACK print.ThanksChuck

I had to try 8 times before I finally entered the correct "registration code" to prove I was human. OK - use the Captcha or whatever, but don't make it so illegible that even a real human can't read it! I think my final successful entry was more luck than anything else. The audio option was no better and equally garbled up and inaudible. Come on - please be reasonable!

HiI've been away so may have missed something. What happened to our country flags?I'm not complaining, just curious. Was it becoming a little unpleasant?

Basically the title says it all! I go to my profile and click 'Edit my Profile' then I look to add my country flag but there's no drop-down menu. The rest of the options in this section are also missing, but everything else is still there (Date of Birth, Gender etc.) Thanks in advance, Ryan

Hi, I like new forums look and feel, and I believe that file library would benefit from similiar change.The problem is see with File Library though is different. Over the years, people took no interest or care to attach pictures to their work, and now we all suffer from their lazyness. If only attaching 2-3 preview pics to every file upload was mandatory, it would help all of us to save bandwidth and money (and especially it would save avsim's money).I would even go as far as sending an e-mail to all contributors to update their uploads with photos (if it's possible with the current engine) and warn that it will be deleted after some time.There's lots of stuff that one wo…

It would help to draw my attention to threads I've participated in or started to see an icon of some type in the thread listing title. Wow, fantastic, and I thought the forum upgrade the last time around looked great... It just keeps getting better!And a new logo to boot, I was going to ask if you were considering updating the old one. One question though, I see that it is missing some of the elements of the old logo, have you considered adding those in the future or would you even be open to having a logo design contest?
