Hi all, hopefully this tip from me will help anyone who finds the default pilot eyepoint a bit too far back, pointed down too much or not pointed at the gauges you use most often on approach or something. This is NOT the same as changing the camera view height/zoom in the cockpit camera under general options, as that affects all aircraft. This is the default eyepoint for this one specific aircraft, if you click the right stick in on an Xbox controller or CTRL+Spacebar on PC. It wont affect any custom camera views (Alt + 1-0) you may have saved. It took me a while to figure it out but once I did, I went through and made custom eyepoints for near enough all of my aircraft a…

If you cannot see the toolbar when loading a saved flight, or if you can see it but cannot change the weather, here is a simple workaround that will allow you to load a saved flight and change the weather. As some of you may have discovered, you cannot see the toolbar when you load a saved flight. but if you switch to VR, the toolbar becomes visible, but you cannot change the weather. This is a known bug. Following are the changes you need to make to allow you to see the toolbar and change the weather on saved flights. When you select a saved flight, open the appropriate flight with notepad and change the following entries as shown below [Weather…

Good day to you all. I found these excellent tutorials that made such a positive difference in performance and video for the MSFS2020. The other useful information regarding fixing high PC temps preventing thermal throttling is here: IMHO these videos are the best I have seen.

This video shows how to fly the PMDG 737 (700) on a flight from KHOU to KAUS with a real life flight plan. It's meant to be a tutorial on how to operate the FMC and fly with it. Entertainment value - low. Production-value - low. Content - high.

Some of you already know this so this is for us that don't or didn't know. First you need addonlinker https://de.flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker and of course FSLTL https://www.fslivetrafficliveries.com/ Install both and check to make sure FSLTL is working in your sim - now lets make it work by just starting your sim: Install addonlinker ( a bit involved but just follow the instructions or watch one of the many videos about installing it) and when you have it installed and open select your options - next go to the General Options tab and add your MSFS exe file (the one that starts the sim) and add it to the window. Here you will choose your C…

If anyone is interested in adding a motion platform, you may want to take a look at this video that shows a motion platform using Simrig actuators. Although the motion is not always completely accurate, it does add a high level of additional immersion when you feel turbulence (even if there is no turbulence), or bad landings 😀. Please note that the effect is much more real when using VR and not so impressive if you are still in 2D. Anyway, this is a new toy for anyone looking for more 'reality', or for anyone foolish enough to add more complexity to MSFS or other sims 😂

As delivered, MSFS has a behavior that drives me crazy, and I bet a lot of you hate this, too: you are trying to turn knobs on an instrument panel with the mouse wheel, and if the cursor position drifts even slightly outside of that knob's bounding box, the screen will zoom in or out - and you almost certainly don't want this to happen. Turns out there is a simple fix for this that I read on the Flightsim.to Forum in a post about the Grumman G21 Goose sim from OZX. This tweak comes courtesy of user [https://flightsim.to/profile/MGouge425]: Tip of the day: To prevent accidentally zooming while using the mouse scroll wheel for turning knobs in the cockpit, especially d…

Join me in this video series to embrace and experience the PC-12. Follow along in this first video with the real world instructions for engine startup from the "cold & dark" state. IMPORTANT NOTE : The 2 red shutoff handles on the back of the center console between the seats must be down. The cold and dark state loads with the FUEL Emergency Shut Off handle PULLED. This handle must be down to start the engine 😉

Specially for everyone who thinks using AIG is scary, dangerous and extremely difficult, here is a quick (well...) guide on how to get going with AIG, largely based on OverKill Simulations video (with a few changes though!). Some people like to read stuff like this instead of having to filter the information out of a +23 minute video. 😉 Yes, it still looks like a lot of text but the initial setup is done within a few minutes and after that using AIG is a breeze. Really. Loading the Airlines will take time for sure but it is easy to do and the results are awesome. Download AI Manager Public Beta 1.1 (incl. MSFS support) Download Traffic Controller Both programs …

Hey all, I used to tweak visuals with the GeForce experience overlay, but recently I've used ReShade with very good results. I find ReShade has way more flexibility in terms of tweaking the visuals. And there's no need to go "all out" with the settings - just a few subtle changes, and the sim will really shine. One thing that's been bothering me for a while is the greenish-yellowish hue that affects everything in the sim - ground textures, clouds, atmosphere. FinalLight has posted a great solution to this over at flightsim.to. Essentially he tweaked LUT values for ReShade with the following goals: Correct the tone of the sim that was red shifted. R…

Hello Captains As I made a post while back regarding TBPB and FENIX to see if both were compatible given the warning on FENIX stating it may cause problems. However after a few replies suggesting it works fine and testing myself on several flights I can confirm both work well together. Perhaps due to recent updates. If moderator would like to pin this for other FENIX users go ahead.

You can use autohotkey app and add this line in any startup autoloading script: SetNumLockState, AlwaysOn download autohotkey (a popular file with IT guys, it allows you to create hotkeys to do most anything in windows). https://www.autohotkey.com/ Install autohotkey by running the .exe file. Now when you right click on the desktop, a new right click menu item will be there: New | AutoHotKey script Choose that, and a brand new script file with .ahk extension will drop right there on your desktop. Rename it to anything you like, such as NumlockAlwaysOn.ahk Rightclick on that file and choose Edit, and it will open in notepad. There will be…

LICJ in default. And with the mod (trees, bushes, grass, all about 2/3 the default size). And my cobbled version from his mod with even shorter version, where all vegetation is closer to 1/2 size). To make your own just look inside the MOD folders for the .xml file and open it with Notepad. And change all the min and max heights (there are probably 50 lines of the heights to alter, for 50 different vegetation trees, grass, etc. , took me 20 minutes of editing). example line, default: <Size min="15" max="20"/> .... the mod: <Size min="12" max="14"/> .... my even shorter edit: <Size min="9" max="12"/> Here's his…

WINDOWS KEY + Y is the shortcut to switch focus back and forth from desktop to Windows Mixed Reality. If the mouse pointer goes away in VR, then Win-R will bring it right back. If you have a device to emulate keyboard presses (such as a StreamDeck), you could make a button to input Win-R.

Greetings fellow simmers! I've put together a collection of various tips that might come in handy in terms of getting the best performance out of MSFS. I will also give some advice on how to tweak your settings for the best image quality. Finally there's a section on useful apps and websites. MSFS graphics settings Of course this depends highly on your hardware. I'm running at 4K resolution with a powerful GPU. Still, most of the time I'm limited by main thread. Even more so in the Fenix A320. I don't use a "set-and-forget" method, as performance is highly dependent on scenery, aircraft, weather, AI aircraft etc. My goal is: 1) to have the most smoo…

My Content Manager was showing I had 0 content, no official content, no third party content. Nothing. The sim still loaded and worked however. Sometimes your Content Manager can show 0 content even when most of the content is installed, is there, and working fine. As we know content is stored under Official and in Community folders. Asobo's cloud keeps a non corrupted version of all the Official content which it can be used to restore your content if it becomes corrupted. You yourself have to keep content in Community non corrupted and able to parse correctly. You can't have 0 content in both Community and Official because even the Standard version of MSFS has l…

I thought the often suggested method here would not help me because I was gpu limited instead of cpu limited. But it did help. Enormously. 28 before deletion and 42 fps after deletion at the same airport Samedan in Austria. You can see my lowly specs. But I have everything set on display to ULTRA, except terrain LOD at 200 instead of 400. And this is payware airport and dense scenery. I never got anywhere near 42 before that trick. A controlled test, same everything, deleted the 6 items from Content Manager, close and reopened MSFS, and 28 became 42 at Samedan. CONTENT MANAGER (type in photogrammetry in Content Manager search bar, because the items to …

Do not assume that this is necessarily an Internet problem. The Rolling Cache may have developed a problem and scenery tiles are not loading as they should. As a troubleshooting step, delete the Rolling Cache data and turn off the Rolling Cache. If things improve, you can restart the Cache.

I lost my Carenado C337... It was still in the Content Manger, but no longer in the Hangar or on the World page. Tried everything, followed every piece of advice.. here was the simple fix (if this happens to you, check this first!): STEP 3 — SYNCHRONIZE TIME SETTINGS Go back to Start, then select Settings > Time & Language. Select Date & Time and toggle the “Set time automatically setting" and “Set time zone automatically” to ON. Click on Synchronize your clock to synchronize your system's clock with an Internet time server. Then click Region, double-check that your country or region is correctly set up (for example if you liv…
