For who did not know, but I think it is great! For the first time now flying in the Carenado Mooney without the annoying icing effects! You can assign a hotkey to TOGGLE WINDSHIELD ICE and then the icing effects will disappear also on any other aircraft like Carenado Mooney or 172. If you also change the icing effects to Visual only under assistance options you will have a FAKE ANTI ICE SYSTEM 😉 https://www.flightsimulator.blog/2021/02/09/disable-windshield-icing-effect/

For info, If you have problems with aircraft instability ( mainly on short finals) and with the autopilot not working correctly on MSFS 20, I have found that they are linked and that by removing the 'dead zone' from the aileron and elevator controls fixes the problem. Hope it helps because it makes the game very much more enjoyable. Fonzie.

If you cannot or just do not want to use a second screen for LilNavMap or Skypark, etc, then Windows has built in shortcuts to switch back and forth between programs on one screen. ......................................................YOUR WINDOWS TASKBAR............................................ Windows key + 7 shows MSFS. Windows key + 8 shows LilNavMap. You can drag taskbar icons to any position. If you put MSFS and LNM into positions 2 and 3, then they will stay there forever until you drag them away. Opening new programs puts their new taskbar icons on the right, which would not change position of those on the left. A programmable controller…

You can select a navaid/fix as point of departure, just open filters and select (must be done every time unfortunately) navaids as ON (scroll lower part). Landing runway is user pre-selected with destination as is usually done. Then go find and select a fix that is about 8 miles final by clicking on the fix and selecting departure in that box You can add other points in between to create an intercepting angle or follow a real approach sequence, just make sure the furthest point is set as departure MSFS will assign sufficient altitude and you can take it from there

Here is a way you can descend from cruise altitude right to the approach end of the runway without doing any math. It allows the GP to be captured and followed down from over 100 miles out at cruise altitude. How To Descend From Cruise Altitude Using RNAV GPS - FS2020 - YouTube

I've posted this over on the MSFS forums. Works 100% for me Kudos goes out to whoever first posted this elsewhere (did a search but couldn’t find it again) Just thought it might be worth bringing it to people’s attention again as I’ve been using this workaround for a few days now and the live weather is working 100% with it so far. Follow these steps and you should get live weather wherever you are. 1. Choose your departure airport. 2. Choose preset weather and set to clear skies. (DO NOT choose live weather at this point) 3. Spawn at your chosen departure point and confirm that it is clear skies (sometimes it seems to remember …

This well organized site lets you search for any UK airport alphabetically, or by name, area, or type. Also other related stuff like a timeline of UK (British) airports. https://www.abct.org.uk/

You can make MSFS ( I have standard edition ) a few GB’s smaller, if you want, by deleting items you dont want to use. You can delete all airports. All aircraft, except the TBM and Cessna 152. All bush trips. All flight training. All landing challenges. Except asobo-landingchallenge. What you can’t delete will be downloaded again, if you did delete the wrong one, when you start the sim. If you want the deleted items back in your sim, go to profile, content manager and download them again.

To start off, here is my sample flight locked at 30fps. A320 @ Manhattan in 4k Ultra And here is a short tutorial you guys can try. First of all, for this to work you need to look at your monitor’s display settings and see if your refresh rate can be changed to 30hz. If you can then don’t do anything yet and continue below: STEP 1: Open the simulator and on the settings and turn developer mode ON. And FPS counter ON.(External FPS counters will not be as accurate so don’t use those) On the graphic settings follow this: (yes, this is just the initial setting that should work for most PC’s) Resolution - whatever your native monitor resoluti…

Hi People, There's a new in-game map I made, that looks more like the maps you would normally see in the browser. It's as any other VFR map, but the catch is that you don't need any external software etc, it should run in-game like the MS's VFR map. However you can't get it with the 'V' key, you have to find it manually in the top menu. You can get it here: https://flightsim.to/file/3181/fspm-vfr-map

I'm seeing enough clues to believe before you do an install or patch install you adhere to the following simple best practice: make sure Win 10 is fully up-to-date, make sure MS Store app is up-to-date and you are signed in, and make sure you are also signed into the Xbox App in Win 10. After insuring all's well then open the MS Store app and do your patch install from there before ever opening MSFS, unless you didn't know there was an update pending. I mention this as it seems some who have had troubles w/ this or that, or even could not execute the game have resorted to such draconian reactions as uninstalling and re-installing MSFS, or even reinstalling Windows…

When I was setting up the reverse buttons for the A320,I was using the external view so that I could see the engine gauges more clearly. During the various attempts to configure a joystick button to the sim's reverse throttle actions, the sim locked up. The esc key and the mouse become inoperative. By switching from full screen to windowed screen by entering alt-enter keys, I am able to "unlock" the sim and proceed. This oddity can be replicated and hopefully will hit the bug lists at Asobo. tc

Hello everyone, I have created a video showing you how to install Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 through a custom installation process. That means you can avoid the default huge long directories for the community folder that look like this: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\ Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community But instead have (your selected installation drive) D:\MSFS 2020\Community\ This makes it so much easier to install addons and find your community folder! You can even store your addon data on another drive! In the video I cover: - Downloading MSFS from the Microsoft Store - Opening…

Some years back when I was using all CH products flight controllers, I searched for advice to set up a CH throttle quadrant with FSUIPC. I found TropicAir virtual airline had publicly published on their site an illustrated PDF by John Cook showing how to set up a CH quadrant with FSUIPC. For reverse thrust, mixture, prop, etc. etc. Also somewhat useful for using FSUIPC with any controller. Well illustrated, very complete. I had to download it in order to read it offline. https://www.tropicairvirtual.com/company/misc/utility/tutorial/fsuipc-guide-v1.pdf

Hello all, I just encountered a problem where I loaded MSFS, selected an aircraft and tried to search for an airport not listed in the 20 preselections (including history) The solution was to go into the MSFS drive and click on the local cache folder. Once in there, I removed the content.xml file (Moved to desktop as a precaution) and rebooted. Full access was restored and a subsequent normal flight ensued. Apparently this file is rebuilt after rebooting. Regards Tony

Instead of the mouse thumb button like espent did, I set mine up for middle mouse wheel button: With these tips you can change you mouse scroll wheel zoom to fit your needs so that using the scroll wheel to adjust knobs in the cockpit no longer also zooms, all while still having all your camera controls (including zoom) on the mouse.
