  1. This A320 NEO tutorial for Microsoft Flight Simulator will teach you everything you need to know to get the aircraft ready for flight. Starting in the cold and dark state at a gate, I'll show you how to power up the aircraft, adjust the cockpit lighting & the brightness of the screens, start the APU, program the MCDU, setup the FCU and run through the Before Start checklist. Ideal for beginners but also suitable for those who are familiar with the A320 in other sims but who are not sure how this one behaves, this video aims to get you up and running as quickly as possible yet following real world procedures as closely as the sim allows. I use the A32NX mod i…

For Windows Store version of the game (i.e., I can't confirm for a Steam install) Open Windows Store Log out of Windows Store Log back into Windows Store (make sure you use the account that you were signed into when you purchased MFS or Game Pass) Log into Xbox for PC Log out of Xbox for PC Log back into Xbox for PC with the same credentials as above Start MFS Log out of your account from within the game Log back in to the game using the same credentials as above Despite being logged into the same account for Windows Store, Xbox for PC and MFS, confusion somewhere within one or more of those can happen (espe…

  3. I discovered this procedure while testing bugs in Flightbeam's new KPDX. Beautiful scenery by the way. I used content manager to delete Flightbeam's KPDX from my MSFS through the "Delete" click after check-boxing in the content manager. I tested and then wanted to re-install Flightbeam's KPDX. I discovered that there is no way to re-install deleted conent directly using content manager. Here is what I had to do: 1. Shut down MSFS. Using Windows file explorer, open to your main msfs file folder. Inside are Community and Official sub-folders. 2. Open the "Official" folder and then open "OneStore" folder. 3. Inside of "OneStore" is all of the installed MSFS cont…

  4. In another forum thread a user mentioned issues with the Microsoft Store version of MSFS sometimes having issues due to it exceeding Windows' maximum path length for some files. This reminded me of a fix I found when I had the same issue while making backups of my files. The fix can be found at the following link: How to Make Windows 10 Accept File Paths Over 260 Characters I implemented this fix quite a while back on my own system and it worked perfectly. Hopefully it will help others as well.

Gets rid off the tile bar and any border around the window, looks like full screen, border-less window, useful for multi monitor set up and those that like to switch between windows while flying. There is a program called "borderless gaming" but i had no luck with it, this is simple and works very well. 1. Download and install this little program https://www.autohotkey.com/ 2. Once installed Right Click on desktop > New > AutoHotkey Script 3. Name it whatever you want and open in notepad add this text below what is already written there ^q:: WinSet, Style, -0xC00000, A return 4. Save and close the notepad. 5. Double click the file y…

  6. If some of the windows/panels (ATC, camera, checklist, fuel etc.) normally accessible in the in-flight toolbar/menu don't show (this happens especially if you played with additional displays and higher resolutions and then returned to just one display) - in the in-flight menu click the sprocket icon ("Custom toolbar") and "Reset panels".

  7. Some users are suffering endless restarts of update packages (progress to some percentage, then restart from zero), when downloading updates. Two possible solutions: Solution 1 (credit goes to fogboundturtle): Use transfer limiting solution (NetLimiter or bandwith limiting options on the router) to ensure the transfer is stable without fluctuations. Experiment with the bandwidth limitation. In my case (the Internet link of just 5Mbps) it worked when limited to 4 Mbps, some users needed to go to 3 Mbps or even 500 kbps. For some users it not worked at all. Solution 2: Check is you ever limited the bandwitch in the simuator options. If so - remove t…

To practice an approach at a given airport, simply pick that airport as your "arrival"...do not pick a "departure".... the Sim will place you on approach to the chosen airport and runway...you have no control over the length of the approach or the altitude...I think it varies by plane...still, it's a neat and useful feature...I read about this on another forum...

Like those that have delved deeper into the game and looked at overall performance matters i.e FPS, settings for the game and graphics card etc, I too found myself checking everything as I could not understand why I was hitting poor numbers with a fairly good PC setup. So bringing up the developer mode I noticed CPU, GPU and coherent draw issues and delved deeper. Response times slow with lots of red issues! I setup my 2070 8gb through the nvidia app using their FS2020 game settings. I found online the optimum settings others had found for the the game itself and changed thru options, then I found a truly handy discovery that changed my frame rates massively. Someone had…

  10. By tweaking a simple little file called usercfg.opt you can easily increase the level of detail radius (LOD) beyond the 200 that currently is the max in the ui. Follow the steps listed in this post: Usercfg.opt was for me found in C:\Users\Andreas\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache My MSF is from MS Store.

  11. I found a way to substitue DVD 1 requirement for Simulator start with my oldest and smallest USB Stick: Format your USB Stick with NTFS and rename this new Volume to: "MSF Disk 1" (mind the Spaces!) Copy all data over to your USB Stick EXCEPT Cab 1 and Cab 2 (not required, reduces content size down to 11MB) Remove your DVD 1, then start MSFS2020 and wait for the "Insert DVD 1 Message", then plug your USB Stick in any available USB port Wait for recognition of the USB Stick (took quite a while on my system) then press "continue" DONE! Hope it works for you as well! Happy Landings , …

  13. There is a bug or lack of feature or whatever in the MSF code that relates to the nav database. The approaches aren't coded correctly, and combine automatically with transitions - in a faulty manner (ie. you often dont get the correct transition for the STAR you are flying). This corrupts the programmed STAR, and is, as many of you already know, a big pain to deal with on Vatsim/Ivao. HOWEVER If you go to the world menu and program your flight there, and leave the approach to "automatic" (ie, dont select ILS or RNAV approach), the STAR will be left intact and is populated according to the published procedure. At least you will not get the corruption that usuall…

  14. fppilot asked advise about color codes to use. I think the eight digits in the aircraft.cfg file are the Microsoft ARGB (GBRA) colors. See here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.drawing.color?view=netcore-3.1

Modifications for C152, G36, 208b and 748i It will fly pretty close to the real one. You need to have also FSUPIC. 16. In MSFS 2020 you can change the curve (sensitivity) except when an update does not allow you to do that. Using FSUIPC 7 (and disabling controller adjustment inside MSFS 2020) you can set that same curve AND you can set the effectiveness too. For example at 50% effectiveness, if you pull the stick hard right, the sim will react as if you only pulled the stick half way right. This will really make the stick less tricky. But you will lose the ability for applying full aileron if such a situation arrives where you need to do that. In my case it is far more likely to get myself in serious trouble by over reacting on stick or rudder than underacting. So I have never u…

  17. Started by Colonel X,

So, when I tried this with the release version, my sim would crash within a few moments. Tried it with the latest patch, and it went through my stress test just fine. When upping the shadow maps (editing the UserCfg.opt) from 2048, the maximum possible in the UI, to 4096, shadows in the cockpit will be a lot crisper, not as fuzzy as default. The sim will even correctly show "4096" in the settings when applied (however once you change it, 4096 will no longer be available). If you have enough GPU headroom, there won't even be a performance hit. All you have to do is find your "UserCfg.opt", and find the following lines, change it to 4096, and save the file. {Shado…

The Tail Number can be edited in the aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft/livery in the Community folder. Click on "Reveal Hidden Content" tab below to open up the window to see the specific lines (in blue) in the .cfg file to edit. As always, make a backup of your .cfg file first. And if anyone can figure out what color codes to use in that line (in purple) please advise. Photoshop is the tool I use to match colors and the hex codes in Photoshop are six digits, not eight as seen in the example embedded in that line. Changing the font may also be possible. Spoiler [FLTSIM.4] title = "DA62 Red" ; Variation name model = "RED" ; model fol…

  21. I'm posting this purely in the hope it may help someone with an old system - not for you guys with massive NASA quality rigs. It's been a tough old ride getting MSFS to work well on my old i5 4690k PC, and I've been seriously contemplating a new PC. However note - I do have an overclock to 4.4GHz and 32Gb RAM as well as a GTX1080 Ti and a 2k monitor. Note - I am running MSFS from a mechanical 7200rpm drive and Windows 10 Pro v 1909. This is a synthesis of many things I have found on YouTube and on this forum and my own experience, so some of the below may be familiar. I am retired and sadly money does not grow on trees for me, so I feel have now a good bala…

  22. Peter and John Dowson have made available a beta version of FSUIPC for MSFS 2020. By editing the ini file (using notepad) it is possible to reduce the overall sensitivity of any flight control (this is different from adjusting the control slopes). Please scroll down to Thomas Richter's post explaining how to do this. https://forum.simflight.com/topic/90313-fsuipc7-beta-suggestions/

Hello all, So I was just about to take off from runway 23C in Cairo and all of a sudden mouse zoom stopped working and all the buttons in the cockpit seemed unclickable. This is not the first time it happens, it happened even prior to the patch. Anybody experience a similar issue?? I'm using the modded A320 latest stable version from flybywiresim, this happened stock A320 and the boeing 787 as well
