  1. Short video on using the DME page of the Radio Panel --- since there is nothing assigned to that Knob and button when on the DME -- to give access to the PFD FMS Knob Control.. Makes inputing data much much easier with the G1000 NXi..

  2. I noticed my mixture axis (set to the Y axis on mine) was only using half the movement of the control. If I put it all the way forward it would be 100% but pull the lever back to 50% cuts the mixture to 0. Fix: go into the Sensitivity settings for the control in MSFS and set the Neutral value to -100% with the Reverse Axis option selected under the control assignment. You will now have use of the full range of the lever for the hardware

  3. MSFS2020 TRICKS AND TIPS HOW TO CREATE AND SAVE A COCKPIT VIEW THAT IS OUTSIDE OF THE COCKPIT BOUNDING BOX. The Problem: For most of the Asobo stock aircraft, there is an invisible bounding box around the cockpit, and the sim will not allow you to translate your Cockpit View eyepoint outside of this box using the arrow keys (UP=raise eyepoint, DOWN=lower eyepoint, LEFT=Translate eyepoint left, RIGHT=translate eyepoint right, Left-Alt-UP=Translate eyepoint forward, Left-Alt-DOWN=Translate Eyepoint Aft). Back in the days of FSX, if you wanted to have an unobstructed view while flying, you could simply undock and close the instrument panel, or fly with the "MiniPanel"…

Even if you reset Power Options in Windows Settings or Control Panel Power Options, it can be automatically reset by Windows updates or other applications. There is a much quicker and more direct way to see if Windows is throttling your cpu power in Task Manger (CTL ALT DEL). In Task Manger select the Details Tab. Next right click on any top column and select "Select Columns" and scroll down and checkmark 'Power Throttling'. 1) Now every time thereafter you open Task Manger, the Details tab will automatically show the Power Throttling column. Every executable program (.exe), such as flightsim.exe, should be labeled Disabled in that Power Throttling col…

  6. Thought I would drop this here if you need it as well.. Might be able to be translated to bindings in the sim for some of it. Also other third party control bindings would have a method using these commands and variables to make it work as well...

  8. Because of CTD's I emptied the Community folder. I thought I could do so without repercussions. But... When you remove the Navigraph database in the Community folder, you loose all Procedures you normally choose in the GPS. I thought MSFS2020 would fall back to its own database after deleting the Navigraph database. But it appears Navigraph installs in the Community folder, but also modifies the Contents.xml. So: dont remove Navigraph from the Community folder unless you remove it by means of the Navigraph program itself (I presume it has that option).

  9. To disable the unrealistic overexposed sky and clouds effect from the cockpit view, if unable to use the HDR10, is to edit one value in the UserCfg.opt file. The instructions of the trick continues at www.flightsimulator.blog Made the MSFS experience much better! 😎

Folks, I upgraded my AVG Antivirus which also included AVG TuneUp (and some other modules new to me). Since I always like to keep my PC tuned, I tried AVG TuneUp - BIG MISTAKE!! Tried running MSFS 2020 after that and got the Black screen and blue progress line at the bottom which only got to 80% (after some while) and then stopped. Tried an number of things (eg clearing Community etc etc) but no luck. Looked like it was going to have to be a complete reinstall of 2020, but luckily I had a backup from a few days prior so restored and all now good. Avoid using AVG TuneUp - it'll mess up your MSFS 2020 installation.

  11. Found this out recently and think it may help those who encounter greyed out options or non working "Fly" button in MSFS. Acronis Cyberprotect and other modern backup solutions have a built in anti ransomware component. For some reason when the flightsimulator executable is downloading the game files it will delete the files in certain folders while leaving the folder structure intact. Funny thing is, when loading, the sim will see the folders and think all is well even though no files are in the nested folders. This results in missing components and MSFS not downloading the missing files no matter how many times you restart. I have noticed this happen with navigraph man…

  12. As of July 20, 2021 Microsoft/Asobo is recommending removing REX Global Airport Textures IF you are having CTDs. I have CTDs with certain airports (mostly small/medium) and removing REX Global Airport Textures stopped CTD. " Solution: Remove REX Real Global Airport Textures, Zinertek Enhanced Airport Graphics".

  13. (This is posted in multiple FlightSim forums) I searched everywhere and could not find any explanation on how to get the Saitek throttle quad to actually move the prop levers into feather detent section like l could in FSX driving the old Aeroworx B200. But I figured it out and thought I'd share. First, and unfortunately, you'll have to buy a key for FSUIPC7 from SimMarket for 25 euro to make it work. 1. Clear any buttons assigned to the Prop lever detent buttons. (full down past the detent is detected as a button press) You can keep the axis you assigned thru MSFS just clear the detent if it was assigned. …

  14. Per Carenado no surprise if WT G1000 (3.7) does not work. “We asked our dev area and our aircraft are not design nor tested to work with such add on, thus, we can not guarantee its full functionality.” I have shared WT notes from 3.6 that explains the issue but we will have to wait and see if Carenado wants to do anything or if WT can make it work.

  15. I was always proud of the MSFS performance on my slightly dated system, but was shocked today. The last time I was flying was 2 days ago, and all was okay. Today it was a stuttering mess with 15-17 fps. Upon checking, CPU was at ~50% and GPU at 30%. So what happened? I wasn't in the air yesterday - but installed the Windows 21H1 update. Now, I'm not the one terribly afraid of all those updates, but I had a few suspects and the second one was already a hit: The update activated Hardware Accelerated GPU Planning (HAGS) which I had deliberately off according to several suggestions. Switched it off, restarted the machine, got into MSFS and voila back at > 30 fps …

VR headsets are typically front heavy. Here is something with a clip that most persons already have in their house somewhere. Shaped and weighs roughly like a USB battery pack. Clip in on the VR headset's nylon backstrap (behind your head) temporarily to see it the helmet balances better. If so, then buy a padded battery pack holder that was made for your specific headset.

  17. This is an updated posting that includes some important information left out of my first effort of only a few days ago. Chiefly that of the need to recognize the lag time that it takes for the FBW Moving Map server to respond to your request for enabling the very unique free text function. Having problems getting the fun FBW FMC free text function to work? Are you getting the dreaded TELEX NOT ENABLED message despite trying and trying? FBW did issue the following video, which starts to clue you in, but not entirely. It does not caution you that there is a lot of lag time between your enabling the function and the FBW moving map feature working. So first, here is the …

You most certainly can! (The following paths are for my Steam installation on my G: drive. Both the Steam Client and MSFS 2020 are installed in my G: drive). There are three files you can change: G:\SteamClient\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\fs-base-onboarding\images\onboarding.jpg G:\FlightSim\Official\Steam\fs-base\missions\Common\LOADING\BOOT\background_loading.jpg G:\FlightSim\Official\Steam\fs-base\missions\Common\LOADING\FreeFlight\LOADING_FREEFLIGHT.jpg File 1 is the first screen you see after starting MSFS (and after the company video clips, if enabled) and is the background while "Checking for Updates" is shown.…

  22. As everyone knows by now, FlyByWire's 32NX has become a stand-alone addon for FS2020 with all the consequences; the liveries no longer work but there are already solutions for it is clearly explained on the FlyByWire website and also on YouTube; there is already something to be found on the website flightsim.to a new category is present in the aircraft liveries. But there are also problems for the users of Vrinsight modules and LINDA it no longer works with the new addon. Still, this can be customized and working to; go to your FSUIPC7 folder and do the following under the folders LINDA and LINDA-CFG go to the folder aircrafts create a new folder there nam…

  25. In the main screen you have these options at the top: Welcome, Profile, Marketplace , Options ==> Choose Profile In Profile you have: My Hangar, Pilot Profile, Content Manager, My Logbook ==> Choose Content Manager Every item in Content Manager should say either Up To Date, or Community. If not, then download those items. (The Community items are 3rd party add-ons which were not purchased through MSFS Marketplace).
