In order for the EFB to be able to effectively communicate with MSFS 2024 there are two lines of code that require to be added to the General Section of FSUIPC7 - version 7.5.0 and higher. The two lines of code are: Init3308=13 AIAboveGroundLimit=100 Important: The Aivlasoft EFB Server must be started prior to MSFS 2024 to avoid any EFB Server errors. The first line of the code initially tricks the Server into thinking that you are running MSFS 2020. The second line of code enables you to see the in flight aircraft. The latest updates of FSUIPC7 resulted in the Server only recognising aircraft on the ground in Airport Mode. …

If you're seeing crashes at the MSFS loading screen, there's currently a problem with some AI-related dll executables loaded as part of the the nVidia app that installs with their drivers. The problem can be cured by removing the relevant dll files. Discussion + solution here:

Hi Everybody, If you're here looking at this, you're like me and run a network and are having connection issues after update 24H2, this may help in getting access to your drives once again. Use PowerShell commands: Click the windows key, search for and open PowerShell (run as administrator), enter the following command and press enter: Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true -Force Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force Set-SmbServerConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force Reboot the computer and you should be all set.

  5. As you know a PC desktop version of msfs 2020 or 2024 purchased from the Xbox Store will then install free onto a series X or S Xbox game console. But you have to use the same Microsoft PC desktop account email and password on the console too. Boot up the console and there are 3 icons (or more). One is for your console account you already have. Another is for a new player. And a third is for playing without any account. Let's say your account email and password is different on the console than your desktop. Then use icon for the "new player" to set up the console to be run using your PC desktop email and password. This is not obvious from the instruction words w…

  6. Don't stop a partially loaded MSFS2024 with the X at the window top. Instead open task manager and kill it there. This method seems to erase the partially created incomplete files that MSFS creates during the loading process. Otherwise that incomplete (corrupt) file will hang around and continue to block you at the loading process every time you boot up. Another method that is more involved but can work as last resort is to exit the beta version of MSFS if you are in the beta. Or join the beta if you are not in the beta. Because this starts a new loading process with new files being created as MSFS loads. Of course there is not always a current beta available. At suc…

  7. 1.) Multi monitor mode will allow lossless to retain focus and keep generating frames for you even when you are using windows on another monitor. 2.) Lossless obviously works better with a higher base frame rate, however, you could probably get away with 30, 40 would be preferred. Make sure you CAP your frame rate to 30/40 or whatever minimum you can achieve, you want frame pacing to be really good so that lossless can do its magic. Uneven frame pacing causes more artifacts. For best overall experience, locking the game frame rate is recommended. This helps to avoid 100% GPU load (reducing its impact on latency) and ensures smoother frame pacing. 3.) Input lag?…

  8. Came across this post by RPGamerous over in the MSFS Official forums and can confirm it works..... When entering a flightplan in the FMS(UNS) first enter the Departue airport with SID under the Menu key then enter the arrival with STAR, then...this is IMPORTANT, work backwards from the STAR enter the last waypoint or fix before, then continue entering all the waypoints backwards until your last entry will be the FIRST waypoint after the SID from the departure airport. I've flown several flights using this method and the autopilot correctly follows the SID/STAR and waypoints entered in the FMS. Until Asobo or Carenado get around to fixing the mess that is th…

Fast boot does almost to speed things up on modern computer SSD drives. And fast boot can keep errors present on your system when you are trying to reboot those errors away. In search window type Control Panel. View by Large Icons, Power Options, Choose What the Power Buttons Do, "Change Settings that are currently unavailable", uncheck the box: Turn On Fast Startup, Save Changes. The key is to click on "Change Settings that are currently unavailable". Otherwise, the options will be greyed out in Windows 11 24H2, and some earlier versions of Windows too.

  11. Hi all, I just wanted to share a test with great results so far. 1) Do a leg from A to B, example EGLL-EHAM-back to EGLL (but first do the trick mentioned under 2). 2) When at gate flight done use developer mode, tools>teleport to far away airport preferably other side of world (SBSP) for example. Teleport back to eham gsx warp back to gate if you have the addon. 3) FSLTL will of course load back the AI at Eham. But EGLL will be reset as well. Test this teleporting back first to EGLL encountering empty airport of course because of object limits stuff. But after the teleport trick all came back!! No one shared this, but hey at least it is a work…

  12. The procedure is different in Win 11 version 24H2. In right side panel of file explorer, right click on the folder icon and choose create shortcut and choose send to desktop. On the desktop, rightclick the shortcut and choose properties, Target. Suppose this is in that target box: C:\Users\groov\Documents\Z_Docs_Prelims change it to this: explorer C:\Users\groov\Documents\Z_Docs_Prelims (space after explorer) Now if you right click on the shortcut and magically there will be an option called Pin to the Taskbar. ==== In that folder are all my links and apps and manuals for MSFS. More than 50 altogether. All neatly arranged. This…

  13. Fix for AMD dual-CCD CPUs like the 7900X3D and 7950X3D to force MSFS to use the much-faster X3D-equipped CCD. Hat tip to @RobJC There's a more in-depth discussion in the hardware forums here:

  14. Started by speedyTC,

Interesting tweak for reducing textures (FSLTL traffic, complex sceneries etc) to save on disk space and help make the sim more responsive and snappy. I tried it on my FSLTL traffic folder and it dropped the size from 32GB to 18GB. Visually I see no difference in the generated AI traffic (I'm on a 1440p monitor so anything rezzed above that is lost, obviously). I will need to do flight and see whether I can discern any difference in loading times, frames, smoothness et al.

  15. Best Image Quality and DLDSR hints often say to enable settings in DSR settings in Nvidia Control Panel But what if DSR Factors is not appearing as an item to change in NCP? <=== You probably need to turn DSC off in your monitor's settings to get DSR Factors to appear in Nvidia Control Panel. How to do it on my Dell monitor: Del monitor on screen display (OSD) buttons. left side, bottom row (Others) DDC/CI .... ON or OFF Choose OFF DSC will turn off. You may have to reboot the computer. (Now DSR Factors should be shown in Nivida Control Panel). Otherwise, not. ------------- LG monitors: Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/…

  18. I made a much longer video recently covering all my settings relevant to make MSFS run as well as possible. In this video I only cover the graphics settings. I guess the most important thing in this video is understanding which settings affect mostly the CPU vs the settings that mostly affect the GPU. Also, I try to explain how to determine if the sim is CPU vs GPU-limited. I've made a few videos demonstrating how the sim looks at different TLOD and OLOD levels - links below. I also made a short video comparing DLSS and TAA. The impact of TLOD on terrain rendering distance and mesh resolution: https://youtu.be/S-BhoewhFhY?si=bhXW11QOURHADma_ The impac…

Pimax (who makes the Pimax Crystal line of VR headsets) recommends using a DP switcher and cable. The one below is the one they recommend. You can't run another device at the same time, but with this you can instantly switch off one DP connection and turn on another. 22. You probably want a folder which holds all your MSFS links. Links to apps (Lil Nav Map | Lorby X&O| Orbx |FSUIPC ETC), to .cfg files, to manuals, to browser URLs. In Windows 7 thru 10 you could create a toolbar on the taskbar which held all of these links organized by you. Windows 11 does not allow toolbars. You can pin a folder that holds these links and pin that to the taskbar. Unfortunately Windows 11 took away the ability to drag folders to the taskbar. You can still drag shortcuts. But not shortcuts to folders (you could do this Win 7-10). Here is how to it without dragging: Create the shortcut to the folder in File Explorer by right clicking…

  23. Reposted by admin--original post by @Cpt_Piett and discussion at: Hello fellow MSFS'ers! Here's a guide on improving image quality for those using DLSS. Goal: to get the best image quality without a significant impact on performance. Useful for: those with Nvidia RTX GPUs. A section of the guide pertain to DLSS3 for those with RTX 40 Series GPUs. 1. What is DLDSR? Deep learning dynamic super resolution utilizes the Tensor cores in RTX GPUs, in order to upscale the image to a higher than native monitor resolution. It then downsamples the image to fit the monitor. Whilst doing so it enhances the detail, edges…

  24. This is an information-sharing post for those who may be interested in, or struggling with creation of sightseeing tours that are flown at low speed and low altitudes. After approximately 1,000 hours of experience creating low, slow sightseeing tours, I have discovered how to significantly improve the behavior of visual waypoints and resolve other issues experienced with these types of plans. I am posting this information so that is searchable by members of the MSFS community. Problem: MSFS waypoints are not designed for low, slow visual flights. Even when the copilot, autopilot and ATC functions are not active, MSFS anticipates time and distance to waypoints and in…

  25. I have started this thread because the original one was just a technical discussion to start with, but it has evolved (45+ pages!) to a complete and easy solution for those that want to try it, even with a toggle switch in sim so that you can see the difference. This thread is to highlight this system, as you may not know how quickly things have moved on, and the information can be a bit spread out in the old thread. I will paste the link to the original thread below for people who want to read it all. For those that do not want to try it, please don't come into this thread and moan - please just wait for Asobo to implement it in a few months (hopefully) and ju…
