Flysimware Turboprop Aircraft

  1. Started by Nathan3219,

I watched the 441 videos and they are fantastic. I was unable to locate the takeoff/climb or the landing videos on the website or the youtube channel. Are they available? Or maybe just an autopilot tutorial even if only text. I'm having a little difficulty understanding how to use altitude capture properly. Often it just keeps climbing past what I have set the alerter to. Or I set a lower altitude and nothing happens. I know that it's pilot error. Can anyone explain the proper way to manage altitude changes with the AP? Thanks, Craig

Tried to shoot an LPV approach with the GTN model MU-2 (version 2.2). The GTN indicated LPV and I had LNAV guidance, but the HSI G/S was flagged off. I have had proper G/S indications for ILS thus far, this was my first LPV attempt. Is there anything I should be checking or steps to take to help correct? Thanks, Don Douglas

I was able to get the MU2 to track the Localizer, but not the Glide Slope. I must be missing something? I checked the manual, but nothing stood out. I was doing an approach into KMDT RWY 13. Again I was able to track the Localizer but didn't see any Glide Slope. Thanks!

  4. Started by ctiger,

I recently purchased the MU and I am having a problem with the GPS and the avionics. I am unable to get the GPS or the WX radar to work. After watching some videos I still can't figure out why there is no display. Turning on the avionic switch all lites up except the GPS and WX. I reinstalled and still no change. I am using FSX-SE and DX10. It appears everything else is working. Note: the GNS 530 works ok but no Wx radar. Any help is appreciated.

I have no problem if I set for "ready to start". I can and do fire off each engines, as per the book. But when set to C&D no luck. I've watched the training video, twice at least. I do everything the test pilot does, but I can't get it to "stick" from C&D. Any hints? TIA, Braun

  8. Started by Ss944,

Apart from the Intro Youtube videos -- are there any additional documents for the 441? I just recently bought it and am looking for some references in terms of Checklists. In addition -- i also have an issue with (possibly a VC click spot issue) clicking the AP button.. I am able to press 'Z' and engage AP but otherwise i am not able to click on the VC. Anyone have this issue? Thank you in advance

Hi Joe! I hope I do not hit a sour subject here, but I just have to ask you: The existing videos for the Cessna 441 are great (even and especially the first, long one!), and I know the videos for the MU-2B, so I would really like to see additional videos for the C441. I own both planes (and the 402C), and want to learn more about the Conquest now, so these would be really helpful. Is there any hope? Regards, Thomas

How nice to see an update but at first play , engine 2 produced more thrust than engine 1 leaving unpleasant asymmetric effects. It was a case of loading a Microsoft aircraft first to clear the error. Good job ....thanks

  15. Yesterday, I reinstalled the latest version of the MU-2 and took it on an IFR cross country. The airplane flies pretty well. My main concern was that in cruise climb using IAS, it would not level smoothly at the selected altitude. I'm assuming this may be because the the ALT hold on the APCP is not working. On departure, I was happy to see that when the first step climb was entered and the ALTS was armed, the FD assumed the take off pitch. I was pleased to see this as the Lear 35A FD only arms for Heading. Regardless, the MU-2 departure went fine when arming the desired step climb altitude and arming the VS with the desired feet/min rate of climb. It also leveled …

  16. Started by Skyseek,

Has anyone experienced strange behavior with the AP not tracking GPS or ALT properly? Enabled GPS and NAV on the AP, and it started a turn in the opposite direction as GPS path. Is there some bugs with the A/C autopilot? Thanks!

  17. I set the Altitude and the VS (I am currently climbing at 1000 FPM). The manual makes reference to a pitch wheel or something like that. I can't seem to get the MU2 VS hold set correctly. Can somebody give me the proper procedure to set the Altitude (I have dialed the set altitude) and Vertical Speed? Heading and NAV / GPS seem to work fine. Most other A/C you set the FPM + for climb and - for decent. IE +500 -500 From the manual: ALT/SEL: Captures and holds selected altitudes. The mode requires pressing VS or IAS to be active. < VS has to be set??> VS: Requires setting a target altitude using the ALT knob on the ALT SEL unit. Use the AP unit pitch…

  18. After I start the MU2B-60, I am using a CH Products yoke and the throttle and prop feather control start to flutter badly when I go to apply the throttle and the A/C throttle controls snap back to idle. There must be something in the configuration, or I am not doing something correctly.. I don't have this problem with any other FSX A/C.. Also in the Engine Start Training video, the trainer mentioned a POH being available (hopefully with the entire A/C standardized checklist.) If anyone can provide the link, that would be great. Thanks!

  19. Do you guys still have plans to bring the Cessna 441 over to P3DV3(.2)? I miss that machine very much, my first FSW product and still my favorite! Rhys Legge

  20. Started by MartinRex007,

Is anybody else getting OOM when flying the MU-2? I use to get them in the Learjet until I install their patch to reduce VAS. Default flight using the Learjet my VAS is 1990MB or 49% at Lake Tahoe, and setting the MU-2 up at the same airport gives me 63%. Is there a way to reduce the VAS in the MU-2 like you guys did for the Learjet. Thanks Martin

  21. Started by flyforever,

The manual makes reference to it, yet what I've already tried does not provide me with the ability the tune in an ILS in the MU2. Can someone provide me with the 3 basic steps after dialing the frequency? thanks tony

Hi will we ever see thsi minor bug foixed on teh 441 and MU2., and i suspect possibly on the lear. It is nice to monitor ATIS on com 2 while listening to traffic on com 1. dont have to do so much frequency changing

  24. Started by flyforever,

The Mu2-60 is just a joy to fly. When I am in the mood for smaller planes, the MU is my favorite plane, and the folks at Flysimware are doing an excellent job in making this plane a one of a kind in terms of modeling. What I am trying to figure out with version 2.1 is their "nose" in the VC. They claim that in 2.1 they have introduced the "nose", yet I don't see it. Second, despite my having EZdok air profile off, the plane seems awfully sensitive to throttle movement. The cockpit jerks a bit too much whenever I move the throttles back. What sets this behavior? tony

  25. Started by flyforever,

I have plenty of fuel when I am flying the MU, yet in mid flight, after 10 minutes or so, the engines stop running. Does anyone know what I failed to do during my preflight checks? tony
