Hi all, just wondering if someone who owns both FSX and X-Plane can inform me (us all) of the main differences between the two platforms for flight simulation? Which has better FPS, better graphics, is something better about one than the other, etc? Just wondering if X-Plane is something I should consider investing in having seen the Skymaster for X-Plane has been released by Carenado.

For the first time in a long time there are no incomming projects listed at Carenado other than converting older models to X-Plane and P3D. There were rumors a while back that Carenado would eventually be eliminated as resources were folded into Alabeo. But it was just that, rumor. Anyone have any insight into Carenado's future?

Has been in use for a long time, but only recently I realized the following phenomenon on this plane: While taxiing the left main wheel rotates in the wrong direction!(?) Can someone please check and confirm? Dieter

Anyone know what lines in the aircraft config I would edit to reduce the power. In my opinion, it is way overpowered in it's current state.

  8. Hello, I was unable to find any topics regarding this issue with carenado C208 for FS9. I saw some YT videos and it seems that some other users as well have the same issue. Basic problem is that C208 for FS9 when engine running low (for example when taxiing) there is always oil pressure low bulb lightened. Only when power applied for takeoff and RPM goes higher light comes out. I'm not sure if this is the case with real C208's or it's a bug with Carenado's C208 for FS9... most likely bug because I saw none real C208 cockpit videos or C208 for FSX with such a behaviour. Is there any solution for it? No updates at the moment on official Carenado page tha…

I was enjoying a cross country flight with my C152II in Sweden. I was climbing to 4000 ft at a rate of 500FPM when suddenly my airspeed indicator went from 70-80KT to 0. I was still moving forward and continued my climb and everything else looked normal, so it was not a computer freeze. The airspeed indicator stayed at 0 for about 15 minutest and then came back and worked normal for the rest of my flight. Now, my question: did I encounter some sort of bug, or is this a feature? I was thinking it might had been due to cold weather or something. I am not a real pilot, and I am new to the C152, so I don't have that much knowledge of what to expect... Any thoughts?

Hi, I have the 182RG and love it although I made two changes. I swapped out the AP for a easier to use one and changed the sound file to the AreZone 182 RG sound set which I highly recommend. It has a nice, smooth, realistic sound without any looping. Great touchdown sound too. There is no GPS/NAV switch on this Autopilot though. (I could never get the default AP to work right so that's why i changed it.) Do you need a GPS/NAV switch in order to couple the GPS with the AP? I've been flying with the GPS by guiding myself along the Magenta course line, and using the AP for altitude hold, etc. I'd like the GPS and AP to follow a complete course with all the waypoints …

so I love the Carenado C172.. how does the HANDLING (not speeds) stack up to the real 172N.. those of you who have hours in the real deal? things and comparisons I;m looking for vs real.. things like ok for example you could say that the Carenado 172 - the rudder pedal is more sensitive then the real plane, or it takes a lot less pitch to do.. whatever, etc..

Does anyone have the blank textures of this one ? Carenado gives blank textures for the c206 but there is none for the cargo version. If someone has them or know where to find them, that would be great!

  15. Started by Flaps30,

Hi, I decided to try and improve on the Carenado Cessna 182 engine sound that just seemed unrealistic and seemed to loop over and over. I found the Arezone replacement sound set for the 182RG and I found it to be much more realistic and made me feel more like I was really flying and moving. I also tested the other cabin sounds that came with the package and all were great, including a very cinvincing touchdown/roll sound. However, when I try to apply flaps, there is no sound at all, and I checked in the sound folder and there is a flap sound file. I played it and it also sounds great, but it isn't working within the aircraft. Any ideas why it isn't working? All oth…

Hi Just saw on Carenado's facebook page that the B200 will soon be released. Graphically very nice as should be expected from Carenado http://www.facebook.com/Carenado That was fast beta testing.... :huh2: I think ill wait for the F1 B200 and Milviz 350i...I would like a nice older non Blackhawk B200 though, so we will see how this is and I will not make my decision to quickly. The C90 is nice there's just some things wrong with it that are annoying, if Carenado actually made a real map/arc mode for the EHSI I will get it. The map/arc mode of the EHSI is what kills the C90 for me...but im not holding my breath for that Regards Lee

I wanted to suggest that Carenado (and other developers) offer a download of each plane, so that people that don't have the same Carenado planes, can see them in multi-player. This could be just an exterior model, without a cockpit, or any sounds, or realistic flight characteristics. This would also be good advertising for Carenado because everyone could see what other Carenado planes look like in-game. I'm thinking this could also slow piracy down, because I have heard of people illegally downloading payware aircraft....just so they can see them in substitutions.

  19. Have joined to see if anyone can help me out. I have had the 206 since it came out and really enjoy it as friends have a safari company and have flown in theirs, which has the Robinson STOl conversion. I have just purchased the Flight Replicas Super Cub extreme which has the 210hp version with squared off wing and drooping ailerons and having looked at both the air config file and the air file, was wondering how you can alter the 206 files to get drooping ailerons like in the Super Cub? I know you can alter the stall speeds etc in the Config file, but was wondering if anyone here had taken this further and how they had then "saved" this mod as a separate aircraft in t…

I don't know if Carenado staff browse this forum, but just in case I wanted to applaud them on the Meridian--great job! I've posted a set of screenshots here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/387174-carenado-meridian-over-california-redwood-country/page__view__getnewpost One thing that might have been nice to add--most Meridians I see have static wicks off of the wing tips--it would have been nice to see this little detail. Other than that, great aircraft--love the way it looks inside and out, and love the way it flies! John

  21. Started by clocki,

I'm having the older F33 for FS2004 since long time and so I decided to buy the fresh and new F33 for FS2004. It has no 2D Panel which is really bad for me as I'm mostly flying in the 2D except some situations. Is there a possibility to merge the 2D Panel into the newer F33? I already tried some easy and simple copy and paste and it was okay. But I can't open the "Configurator",Manual etc. Also the 2D Panel seems very "high", I can't look above for taxi. Thanks for some hints about that PS: Good work from carenado and a complete different feeling!

I got this little jewel today and must say that I am impressed with it. I have the C90B and while I am impressed with the graphics and textures, it was boring to fly. I likened it to a supermodel, great to look at but not much fun in bed. The C182T is a different beast. Its just as nice to look at and a helluva lot of fun to fly, very nice handling. I'm looking forward to the TBM850. Hopefully it will just as much fun to fly as the C182.

Hello everyone. What do you think the best Carenado aircraft for FSX are? I am looking for possible buys for the holidays. It needs to have good flight dynamics, be easy on fps, and have a decent exterior. I'd also prefer one with Carenado's suped up GPS, not the direct port of the default GPS500. Thanks!

Hi Owner of several great Carenado single engine aircraft. One problem however is the Archer II that is very twitchy in the elevator axis. This is especially painful during takeoff and landing when extremely small movements to my Saitek Yoke is needed, or else the Archer will takeoff like a skyrocket. Is there a way to tweak the Archer aircraft.cfg file to better reflect real life manuvers? Any values and insruction how to would be much appriciated. I also use the Carenado Beech F33A and that aircraft is very stable in the axises and behaves more like a real single engine aircraft, so I figure there should not really be any problems with my hardware Saitek yoke or…

I would have thought that after finding out that so many of their planes have a bouncing problem, the issue would be paid more attention. It bounces so much it reminds me of a rodeo I attended las summer. Will a patch be forthcoming soon?? If anyone has a solution please post, thanks!!!
