Hi folks, I finished this a while back, and wanted to post this up here having finally gotten around to joining the AVSIM forums... Hi guys,I just bought the FSX Piper Archer and have been getting familiar. I am confused with the GPS though. It seems there is no Autopilot but there is a switch for the NAV / GPS. Am I correct that the included default FSX GPS is to be flown manually since ther is no A/P for automatic guidance? If so, what is the purpose for the NAV/GPS toggle? I tried the GPS with both switch positions and there was no difference. Thanks. Regards, Tom

It seems the best advice I've had so far is to replace my Navomatic A./P in the Cessna 182 RG with another unit such as the Bendix King. The problem is I have never done this before and would need detailed instructions. I assume the main part would be editing the Aircraft.cfg file. Also, where do I get the new A/P? Thanks. Tom

I have two Carenado planes: the C185F and the Piper Dakota. Never had any problems with the Dakota, but can't get the C185 to work correctly. Everytime I start a flight with the C185 there is a strange red glow from the VC that eventually goes away. Additionally, the plane's textures take a minute or so to load in the spot view. After flying for a few seconds, or a sometimes a few minutes, my ground textures get completely corrupted - all blurry and incomplete. He guys, i purchased this nice plane a while ago, but i can finally use it now since i had SP1 and now i bought accelaration.Normally i fly the B2 Islander and i have no problem using it for an ils landing, program the ils frequency line up, and once i hit the localizer i press app and voila ils is working.Now in my first flight with the Carenado Caravan i was planning on doing an ils landing as well since it was really misty, i had the ils frequency installed in the radio 109.50 for plymouth which is a vor/dme ILS system. I have landed there with ils in the Islander no problem, but my Caravan is not responding to the glideslope at all, what am i missing here ? autopilot …

Dear Simmers,I'd like to assign keyboard shortcuts to some functions of the plane via FS assignements or FSUIPC.I've tried to assign the following functions but without success:NAV1, NAV2, ADF ident (to toggle audio ident). The original shortcut of FSX to hear the VOR or ADF idents does not work anymore. I don't want to use the mouse. I've tried also to create a mouse macro with FSUIPC but unfortunately the radio stack panel is not recognized and therefore I can't create a mouse macro!Switching audio COM1 and COM2, Marker audio too, can easily be assigned in FSUIPC but not the ones described above.Any help would be appreciated.Regards,Stéphane

Hi everyone,For some unknown reason my C172N Skyhawk II Float Plane just tips over when I start on the water or any time as soon as I land on the water. None of my other foat planes do this!!It just keels over to the port side seconds after I start a flight.Has anyone experienced this before?Regards,Mike

Is there any way to lessen the brightness of the Cessna 182 Skylane instrument panel? It makes it hard to see the outside view with the overpowering pink lighting of the panel. I tried to adjust using the panel switch but it just seems to turn it on and off with no varying brightness. Thanks, Tom

Hi!I am flying more and more with Carenado products. I would like to show it also in my signature but is there a Carenado supporter banner available? (Better than the one I just made) Would Carenado let us use their name?

So, I bought the Cessna 337 Mixmaster (ok, Skymaster) for FSX. No product activation, painless installation, as pointed out in another thread. However, the airplane appears all black in game! In the preview, the tips and windows are visible, but not the airframe.

Anyone else notice that the bag in the cargo area of the C-172 Skyhawk from Carenado has Alabeo written on it? Seems they were dropping hints all along...

I love the C 182 Skylane but am confused with the Autopilot. I can get it to hold a heading using the heading bug on the directional gyro with the HDG SEL button, but I can't seem to get anything to happen with buttons 2 and 3 NAV INT or NAV TRK. The description in the manual for each button is similar, but I can't get the plane to track or intercept and turn to the VOR. Does the heading button also have to be active when using either NAV INT or NAV TRK? Thanks, Tom

HELLO, When I taxi the PA-34 Seneca II at low speed or any speed, it bounces on the taxiway and the runway on take off. Any way to stop it? I have the fs9 version.

I'm new to Carenado. First things first, is there any kind of product activation required? That's a deal-breaker for me as I like to keep software for DECADES. Seems not to be the case from what I can tell but I want to be sure.That said, I'm looking at getting at least one version of a C-152 and C-172, as well as at least one or two other Cessnas, but am curious as to which sim to buy for. I use FSX by far the most, hands down, followed by FS9. I have X-Plane 9 as well, though I very rarely play it. But if one or more of the Cessnas are good enough in terms of graphics, and especially physics and flyability, then I'd be willing to give it a shot.

I just purchased and installed the FSX Archer. I also have the Cessna 182 Skylane. The Skylane appears in my Windows 7 program list and also in my Windows Uninstall Programs list. However there is no entry for the Archer. I have checked in FSX and the plane seems to have installed correctly.Also, I have a checklist reference in the Archer folder but is there supposed to be a manual (panel description, etc.) also? Hello, I just purchased Carenado's C172N for XPlane to use for basic IFR training. I wanted something with a good flight model and realistic gauges to use for practicing, NDB, VOR, ILS approaches etc. I loaded up the aircraft and was very impressed with the quality of the flight model and the graphics. The only things that I found very disappointing were the lack of an ILS and DME on the aircraft (mainly the lack of the glideslope). Does anyone know if there is an update or fix to add the ils/glideslope capability? Needless to say I probably should have paid a bit more attention when I bought it - but truthfully I expected that with two VOR indicators I expected one…

I am having trouble stopping the C182 Skylane after landing. It seems even with a landing speed of about 80 kts, and the yoke fully forward with brakes applied, it takes most of the runway to stop.Also, after landing and while taxiing, while retracting flaps, I got an annoying horn that I could not find the source of and no way could I shut it off. I could not find this in the manual. Any ideas? Speed was only normal taxiing speed. Thanks. Tom

Is there a setting somewhere in a config file to start the f33 up with the sunshades in the full up (out of the way of the main screen ) position and also one to start it up automatically in 3d mode?Thanks!

Hi, According to the checklist for the Carenado Cessna 152 you're supposed to check if the fuel shutoff valve is on. Is this valve modelled in the 152? I seem to have trouble finding it...

I'm very tempted to pull the trigger but a little hesitant, looks like a lot of fun..frames good? does it feel "real"??
