  1. Started by Jim Young,

I have seen where Carenado installers have, on occasion, placed the 32-bit version of a module in the dll.xml instead of the 64-bit version when installing a product or a product upgrade into P3DV4. In the main P3DV4 folder you will see the 32-bit and 64-bit versions sitting together. Make sure your dll.xml references/loads the 64-bit version such as: XMLTools64; Carenavigraphx64 (for Navigraph Extension installs); and CMeteoXmlx64 Please do not add these modules if you do not see them in your dll.xml as they may not be required for some installations. Just look for the entries and, if there, make sure they are the 64-bit verson. This is for P3DV4 and higher…

  3. I am flying the Carenado T34B in FSX with Acceleration trying to use the Navy power settings. The problem is that airspeed is too high using the Navy specified manifold pressure and prop settings. For instance, with prop at 2000 rpm and MAP at 23", the airspeed (trimmed for level flight at 1000') is about 135-140 knots rather than 120 knots as anticipated. At 90 knots on approach with gear down, the prescribed MAP will accelerate the aircraft to 105 knots, requiring MAP to be reduced from the Navy specified value to 2-3" less to maintain the desired airspeed. My question is how to adjust .cfg settings to obtain the desired airspeed for the specified MAP and prop? I c…

I'm on FSX and contemplating making the leap to P3D at some point. Unlike the majority and in the interest of maintaining reality as a high priority, I often prefer the older GNS 530/430 to the newer GTN 750/650 in several smaller GA class aircraft. When reviewing avionics options for the latest Carenado / Alabeo releases, I notice the options are: Flight 1 GTN 750 (or 650) Integration; Reality XP 530 (or 430) Integration (FSX Only). The Flight 1 GNS 530/430 for P3D or FSX doesn't seem to be an option for VC integration; is that accurate? I understand the older RXP won't work in P3D, but is default the only option for 530/430?

I purchased the PA28RT Arrow IV via the STEAM DLC. The Vr speed for rotate according to the A/C manual is 65 - 70 knots (depending on weight and conditions) I just did a take off roll and I couldn't get off the ground until I was at 110 knots. I have flown this A/C and know that can't be the case. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Hi folks. Is there anyway please of creating a new autopilot panel that can be resized in the Carenado PA28RT Arrow. In some aircraft if you click on the panel a second one pops hup that can be re-sized, but in this aircraft this cannot be done. So is there a way please of creating one. This saves having to scroll the cockpit up and down everytime you need to make an input to the autopilot. thanks - John

Hadn't seen it posted anywhere so thought I'd put it here. It's $20 for both if you have either the 650 or 750 already.

When I fly my Carenado PA28RT 201 on P3Dv3 I have the following problem with approach. Can anybody help please. When on approach with gear down and flaps applied, the nose down position of aircraft is too high to see the runway. It seems that when the flaps are applied the nose does not take a lower position like it should. Is it possible to tweak the aircraft.cfg so that when flying straight and level with flaps, the nose down position is such that the approaching runway is visible. I have tried moving the seat position up but all that does is expose more of the cowling but does not allow the runway to be sighted. I do not want to dive the a…

Hi all- Quick question. I really enjoy my Carenado fleet and its understandable that the panel quality was limited ten years ago, however, is it possible to swap out gauges from newer aircraft into older ones? For example, the artificial horizon/flight director in the Baron is excellent, but the earlier Seneca is not so hot. Can edit the old planes to use the newer Baron ADI? Thanks- Mike

Has Carenado stated their upgrade policy to version 4 of P3D? I aching to buy the Cheyenne II but with the pending release of P3Dv4, I don't want to buy it if it won't work in v4 or if I have to pay an upgrade fee. I'll just wait. Anyone know?

Any news of a P3D v3 installer for this beauty? It's still my favourite single in FSX - would be a shame if it cannot be flown in P3D v3.

  17. As the title says, this just keeps happening and I have been flying FSX for years now. What's the secret? You know as soon as you sayn "SLOW DOWN", I'm going to say that I have slowed down and when I do then the plane drops like a stone and I hit too hard. It's like the sweet zone is so tiny it is just a random chance to hit just the right speed between dropping and hitting hard or floating 3 quarters of the runway down because of trying to flare and the plane won't set down. I'm starting to believe that FSX isn't modelling reality in this situation. I watch many flying shows like Buffalo, and Flying wild alaska and I have rarely if ever seen a pilot flare and th…

  20. With this pending release, I feel compelled to once again raise the topic of ITT behavior within FSX operating parameters. I know some folks believe this is a nit-picking item and should be forgotten with a "nothing to see here; move along". However, for those of us committed to realism to the extend possible, I must convey the following. A couple of weeks ago, a beautiful King Air 250 with the Blackhawk upgrades including the -XP52 engine upgrade flew into the small Huntsville, Texas Airport. I had the opportunity to chat with the pilot for over one hour about the upgrades, avionics and operating limitations. He confirmed managing ITT, Torque and a variety of other param…

Fellow Simmers, Does any one know of a product out there that can be added to Carenado aircraft to simulate wear and tear/aging/damage, and work in FSX? I found a product called Reality Expansion Pack that is being build for Carenado aircraft, however it is only for X-plane. I really enjoy the realistic effects created by Accusim in the A2A aircraft, and since the Carenado c337 and TBM are two of my favorite aircraft, I was hoping to enhance their simulation abilities. Thanks for any information!!!

Hi Folks, I read a recent post where someone mentioned that the F1 GNS is a drop in replacement for RXP GNS... If true - this would mean it would open the door for a true 3D navigation solution on many Carenado aircraft... Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if so a PIREP ??? Regards, Scott

  23. Hello all, I purchased the Carenado CT182T G1000 HD for my Xplane 10.5. I loaded it on my laptop and I remember the first time I started the program after placing the aircraft in the right folder and the carenado folder with the database in the xplane root directory, xplane displayed a screen for me to enter the serial key. I entered it and everything worked fine. Well I recently got a more powerful machine a i7 11Gb of ram with a Gforce 470 in it. I reloaded xplane 10 on the new machine and got the update for it like before on my laptop. Next I did the same procedure placing the carenado folders in the right place but this time when I started xplane there…

Hi I am having trouble with the MFD in the new Carenado 182 G1000 v 1.2 for X Plane. Half the buttons don't appear to function and flight planning is a nightmare. I have installed the required data base and when I click on flight plan a huge list of airports appears in a list which the clear button doesn't remove. The G1000 PDF with the aircraft appears to be identical to the one included with the FSX version of the same aircraft which is not much help. In my opinion a dedicated X Plane G1000 PDF would have been nice. Has anyone else bought this yet? Am I missing something? Thanks Cheers simdown42

Hi everyone, I recently purchased the Carenado Cessna C172N through Flight1 and its fantastic and puts the default one to shame :). Now, the one thing I've noticed with it that there are the two standard VOR indicators, although they both lack a glideslope indicator for ILS. I've never been in one IRL so not sure if this is normal or not, I purchased the aircraft mainly to fly about Orbx PNW as well as going 'back to basics' and doing things like ILS approaches in a smaller, more manageable aircraft. Many Thanks.
