Hi folks, I am just conducting 747F flight Cargolux CLX762 from ELLX/LUX to SBGL/GIG and loaded delicate freight into the forward lower lobe compartment. Due to the freight's nature (don't know what it is? .. mushrooms for Brasil? LOL) - I set the AIR FLOW RATE to LOW-FWD and - I turned the FWD TEMP selector down to 9 o'clock position. Without seeing the connection the EQUIP COOLING message popped up (EICAS) and EQUIP LOW FLOW (STATUS). According to QRH I set EQUIPMENT COOLING SELECTOR - on ground to STBY - in flight to OVRD The latter eliminates the message in flight, however, due to the QRH advice to land at the nearest s…

When performing an ILS approach (app selected) but with only Autopilot cmd left in use, it changes to Autoland 3 once the localizer and glide slope are captured. Then obviously CMD C and R illuminate. It's not my wish to use autoland every time, is their a setting I have missed that stops this from happening?

If you have EICAS messages that do not clear, on the 744 then do the following 1) Load the default panel state 2) Shutdown the plane to the state you want 3) Save this to a new panel state 4) Use this panel state from now on when loading the 744.

Hey folks, just a quick one. Did 2 flights today both had a couple of issues, first issue was entering the runway at ypdn (default p3dv4) where the number 4 engine went beserk and into full reverse with all sorts of overheat warnings and caused a 300t 747 to spin around like a top, must have rotated 20-30 times before slew mode and mashing the f1 key eventually brought it to a stop. Then upon landing at around 255t on sydneys runway 34l I ran off the end of the runway (over 12000ft) with full manual braking and full reverse. Runway was dry but it seemed as if it was just gliding along and not slowing. Went off the end at 140kts after touch down at around 155-160. …

So, I wanna ask a kind of silly question. When I fly the 747, and I am starting the pushback I start the ET timer. So far so good, when I start the takeoff roll I then press the clock button on the glareshield which is a stopwatch essentially. Now, I know it from the NGX or Airbus that once you reach one hour it goes 01:00 but the 747 just goes 60 and then up to 100. How am I supposed to read it? Do I actually need to calculate how many hours I've flown based on GMT time and then add the minutes of the stopwatch? I hope somebody can help me with this, It has been really messing with my mind lately :D

Anyone able to assist me with setup of Saitek panels and fips for QOTS. I have regd copies of FUSCIP & SPADNEXT. Youtube videos exist for 737 & 777s but not for 747. Also videos appear to rely on a utility called Linda. 3 different prograns for essentially a few addons seems overly complicated. Thanks Alistair Mcrobert

Whilst really pleased to see the new 747 and just starting to enjoy it and learn all about it again after not using the old one now for some time. I was a bit disappointed to see that after such a long development time, that PMDG still using old navdata formats and the FMC logic not been updated to take advantage of ARINC 424 and true PBN. Is there any plans to refresh the PMDG line of products - rather than more products that will slowly become unusable as real world procedures will require more and more need to be able to fly RF legs etc.? I see FSLabs have enabled their aircraft to do so - and with real world mandates from ICAO and EASA now pushing this ahead -…

I have had 5 flights in B744 v3 and Eng 4 warning of low oil pressure and then overheat every time I begin descent. I have turned off all failures (random and maintenance). I try to clear the failures but they instantly come back on. I follow procedure and end up having to land on 3 engines. This is every flight so far with different panels and different aircraft. I read the issue with B777 in that forum but this is not due to corrupt panel state. I have Win10 but this is not due to the fall upgrade because I haven't received it yet. Anyone have a solution or can enlighten me as to what might be causing this? Kyle must have an anwer! Craig

Hi all, i just noticed that there seem to be no minimum callouts if the mins are only dialled into the FO´s PFD.. Is this intentional ? Or maybe just a little overseen bug (wouldnt be surprised as probably not many people fly from the right side) best regards

So I'm doing a flight with max ZFW and the flight plan says I'll have about 9,000kgs when I land at my destination. I decided to check what my CG would be at approach by loading 9,000kgs of fuel at the gate and the problem is with full payload, the TOCG is too forward at that fuel amount, 12.7%. So my question is if this is a safety hazard to be on final approach with TOCG that forward? Is TOCG synonymous with CG in flight in the manner that, if it's too forward at take off it's too forward for all phases of the flight especially landing? good day gents Ive been using the 747 for about 2 months without any trouble until today september 13th when it started to crash upon loading. no matter the livery FSX goes crash to desktop. I ran the installer and clicked on repair. tried again and worked perfectly fine. Closed FSX and tried again with the same faulty result on crashing to desktop. Is anyone experiencing this? The only thing that changed from yesterday was the recent update to the 737 that was installed. Other than that nothing was modified. Thanks in advance Alfredo H

Hi, is it correct that, if I turn the Inboard display selector knob left to "EICAS", on the inboard display only the secondary EICAS is shown if a secondary EICAS page is selected? Shouldn't it show also the PRIMARY EICAS? To practice my takeoffs and landings I've created flight plans that circle an airport in a (big) standard traffic pattern. For example, a typical practice flight takes off from KDFW, flies straight for about ten miles, flies crosswind for several miles, then downwind far enough to enter a cross wind path that allows me to intercept an ILS and make an approach approach to the runway, and then land. These are really big traffic patterns, but they've been useful to learn how to manually fly the aircraft and practices various instrument approaches. Hey all, I created my own panel state using the default PMDG short start. Everything goes ok except for when I start the engines (Autostart enabled). I use FS2Crew to start the engines but as soon as I put the fuel switches to run, I get the audio and caution light. From that point on, there's no way to cancel the caution light. Hi, I tried a takeoff with the PW4056 engines. Is it correct that, when thrust HOLD engages at 80 knots, the EPR values remain correctly fixed at the takeoff green reference, while the N1 still continue increasing (like it did erroneously with the GE engines before the latest update)? I guess that, since I see that also the N2 values increase during HOLD mode, the EPR remains constant, right? Unfortunately I see on the Aerowinx PSX simulator that this does not happen, that is N1 remains constant as well during HOLD mode... Thanks.

Hey guys, when I enter the SID I'm using in the APP/DEP page in the FMC and execute I get a solid line that goes straight off the runway and doesn't turn it just keeps going straight, however once I delete the SID which for instance mine was "SYKES7" the navigation line turns and goes to my next waypoint, any idea of what's going on? I watched a Youtube video explaining why and what to do but I forgot. Any help is much appreciated!!

Hallo Leute, ich wollte heute von KIAH nach ELLX fliegen, aber im CDU kam beim eingeben per Co Route und auch Manuell immer die Fehlermeldung "LN:189 ERR AT GATES". Ich weiß nur nicht wieso diese Meldung kommt. Habe die aktuellen Navdaten 1712 noch mal installiert und den FSX: Steam Edition auf Fehler untersuchen lassen, wobei nur 3 Fehler gefunden wurden. Nach dem die Fehler repariert wurden, habe ich den FSX neugestartet und wie sonst auch immer im Cold & Dark Modus meine Maschine gestartet. Als ich dann die Route wie immer unter RTE 1 eingeben wollte, kam wieder die oben genannte Fehlermeldung im CDU. Was ist das für eine Fehlermeldung und wie kann ich diese b…

Sinds a few days i get this error when loading a scenario of my B744. The scenario is based on a default panelstate and saved to a cold and dark situation. After clicking OK the scenario loads as expected, i can then load a flight (co-route) and continuing my flight. Anyone have an idea? Hi all, I've been experiencing an annoying issue with my 747-400 QTSII since yesterday: the autopilot holds the elevator in a position that is about 2/3 deflection upwards. Or better, my elevator trim is stuck in the up position. It will not adjust either by control settings corrections or keyboard input. My K key, which is set up to decrease the elevator trim won't just move the elevators. Only the increase command, which I assigned to the L key, is working. I've tried to unistall and install the software back again in case there were corrupt files in the configuration but nothing, when I take off my plane seems to be a rocket and bending to the keft, it stalls and …

With GSX having created a new cargo loader, does anyone know the code for the side cargo door, the bulk cargo door, and the nose cargo door, so that the GSX loaders can check to see if the doors are open or not? The code for the forward cargo door looked something like "(L:7X7XforwardcargoDoor, number) 990 >=". I had tried to see if changing forward to side would do it for the side cargo door, but evidently not. Thanks.
