PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

I just executed a trip from EKCH (Copenhagen) to CYYZ (Toronto) with the PMDG 747-400 QOTS II under P3D V4.2. The flight took 08:40 hrs. With this post I only want to report that all was working great and smooth with no errors or stuttering. Hi, I just completed the first tutorial for the 747. The first attempt had me veering left on takeoff, and I crashed. I then set rudder yaw (if I recall correctly) to two keyboard commands and was able to stay semi-centered for takeoff. Upon landing in KSFO, I could barely taxi in. Is there a key command to enable the tiller? I could not find such a command in the joystick assignments or perhaps I missed it. I do not own rudder pedals and am looking for an alternative way to steer on the ground. Any ideas? Thanks, Bryan kraynack

Would it be possible in a future update to implement the shaking sounds without actually having the Ground Roll Shaking feature Enabled?

Did the latest update for the 747 mess things up for anyone still on 4.1? My NAV and strobe lights are lighting up the engines, that should be impossible. The number 4 engine on the ER stopped spinning while it was startings. And the wing flex in turbulence seems very unnatural compared to what it used to be.

All, We are aware that some users are experiencing issues when loading the 747 in P3Dv4.2. We are working to identify and fix the issue. In meantime if you want to fly with the 747 load the flight with the default F22 and then switch to the 747 of your choice. EDIT 15FEB. As per RSR post at the main forum "We have determined what causes this and we are in the process of testing a prototype fix to eliminate the issue for P3D v4.2 users. Hi. Its bin awhile since i took the mighty Queen out for a flight or two so i was exited to do 2 leg as KLM785 and KLM730 between Amsterdam and Saint Maarten on legendary rute with the Queen. Unfortunately my experince with multi tanks is in a small place so i decided to let the Queen handle those pumps during the flight. On my return leg to Amsterdam during the long taxi in from 18R both engine 1 and 4 was out of fuel. About 8.2 tons in 3 and 4. Takeoff fuel was 94500kgs. So what did I miss? Hello everyone, i have a problem with the armed speedbrakes. If i prepare my landing with the 747 and armed the speedbrakes the don´t open completly after touchdown (only have of them open), so i have to open them manually. It looks bad and isn´t real. I was climbing out from SFO and had failures turned on. Just wondering: is there a sort of cascading failure mode? Or did I do something horribly wrong? I've realised that the more I fly this majestic beast of an aircraft, the more quirks I discover. For example, when I tune the VHF3 radio out of BATA and into 121.500, I've noticed that both VHF1 and VHF2 radios will automatically monitor VHF3's GUARD frequency, and the "VHF DATA OFF" EICAS message displays. Is this a unique property of the 747-400? Or did I just not notice this on the other PMDG aircrafts?

I have just had yet another CTD with the latest version of the 747 in P3d V4. Started descent and opened up the captains PFD as I always do and I noticed the textures were not showing correctly. I could see ground textures instead of the gauge display. After a little while I had the message that the sim had stopped responding. Eventwr showed the usual NTDLL.DLL error. I have updated my graphics drivers too just in case. This is the second time now that I have had a CTD using the 747, I have not managed to do a complete flight yet. Always in the descent does the sim stop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Keith Mann

Hi all, I am having an issue with the 747-400 v3. My issue is that the nav data on the F/O screen keeps vanishing leaving a blank screen. It is there at the start of the flight but disappears during the flight. I have had this a few times now and I am not sure what may be causing it. I have attached a bmp image to show the issue. I got an old system that most likely won't be able run the 747 queen of the II, and plus the plane is way too complex for me, that's why I was wondering if I could still buy the version before it, the least I can do is ask, a bit of long shoot and thanks for your help in advanced. Nel Rose.

Can someone point me to where I can find the PROPER steps to start the engines from either a short or long panel state. I have created my own. But I don't feel it is the proper procedure. Thank You. Bill McCracken

Hi all. I've had the PMDG 747 for quite a while. All of the sudden, this has started to happen. I load into P3D v4 with the 747, and the screens are black, there's no gear, the yoke is back and to the left, the throttles are pushed forward (no thrust), but there is the idling sound of the engines. I've attempted a reinstall thousands upon millions of times, as well as updating the product. I have also tried repairing and reinstalling SimConnect many times, and nothing has seemed to work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I've been contracted by the US Air Force to fly a top secret cargo flight from Area 51 in Nevada to Johnston Atoll in the Pacific ocean. Both are P3D airports, but unfortunately Johnston is not in the nav database on the aircraft. I am able to plan the flight in PFPX by creating a user waypoint over Johnston Atoll, and my flight plan would be Area 51 (KXTA) to PHNL (by way of my user waypoint of Johnston). Essentially this would mean overflying Hawaii and continuing on to Johnston with a manual descent, approach and landing. PHNL would essentially be my alternate. Manually entering the lat/lon for Johnston in the FMC shouldn't be an issue, so I can't see what could go wro…

Hi everyone- apologies for the disturbance on the festive days- but I have a problem with the 747 v3. The heading sel does not respond anymore-everything has been working fine, yesterday I updated to ezdok 2.7. Now the hdg sel has a yellow line across it and there is no change of direction on pushing the selector. Can you please advise how to resolve this. Many thanks Qas

Reason, i completely fubared up my arrival profile, star etc and couldn' fix it. Is there a way to purge a current flight route in the fmc and then reload the initial route I had at departure? Cheers.

I might be the biggest noob here but this is the first time that it happened. Normally when I fly the magenta line always points to the top (I added the yellow line to demonstrate what I am talking about) but all of a sudden during a flight today the whole thing shifted to the left. Also same thing on left screen. I attached a screenshot. I have no idea how and why. I'm reading the FCOM but can't find any info. Could somebody explain to me what happened? Thx!
