PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hello I have not seen this before the last complete reinstall/update. I am gearing up for the 747-8 When I enter any flight plan I get message "Datalink is not ready. ACARS Login is required". ACARS is lit up at the FMC but clicking on it does not do anything. Also, Starting the 747 closes Chaseplane. ODD. Please advise Bill

Hi everybody, the other day I was at my friend's home and he showed me the 747-8. I'm thinking about purchasing the 747-400 and -8 for myself, but first I would like to know if it's possible to disable the bug splattering in the P3Dv4 version. Thanks.

Hi, i have all 3 markers to on but when I approach an ILS no sound or light is coming. Second in the 777 you could set the 4 FIX points to a circle of 750 miles. In the 747-8 it seems that 500 miles is the most far setting. is this right ? mark EHRLICH LOWW

Just installed 747-8. Crash to desktop just after install. Both 747-400 and 747-8 are both up to date. P3D v4.3

What ever happened to the original 747-400 type rating course (4 volumes) that was available at one time for download on the documents download section of the PMDG website? I have searched here on the forum and also googled, but have not been able to turn up anything. I was thinking they would still be applicable for the QOTS II and 747-8 series and wanted to obtain a copy of the 4 pdf files. Any idea what happened to them and if they are still available? Does anyone has experienced that APU won't start on some flight in 747-8? It's starting normally like in 10 flight around 2-3 flight that it won't start or take a long time to fire it up.

Hi! I've installed the 747-8i expansion pack and tried to make my first flight, but after starting the engines I recognized that the Queen doesn't turn by using the rudder pedals. Then I was loading a standard aircraft to check.With the Standard Beech Baron everthing works fine. I've started a complete new P3D session and tried some other aircrafts. All of them are working fine! But I have still the same issue with the PMDG 747-400, 747-8i and the 777 (the 737-800 works fine as well). My 747-8 will not engage the reversers and also doesn't have Datalink as an option. Anyone have any ideas? Oliver Madilian

OK, so I really hope that I am not asking a dumb question here. But with the release of the Dash 8 plus the updates done to the 400, you have to simulate a little more reference ACARS and the CDU on the radio panel. However, in order to use this CDU, the FO screens must be enabled via the performance tab on the PMDG page of the CDU. Is there a way to disable the FO screens and CDU but still have access to the lower CDU for ACARS purposes?? I might be crazy be I have the FO disabled on the NGX but at least the CDU remains operational (most of the time)... Curious for any thought or observations regarding this matter. V/R Kris Plummer

Just another little observation: I noticed that the SQUIB TEST buttons for CARGO AFT and FWD in the BCF-model dont work - there seem to be no clickspots anymore since the last mayor update. However there are two clickspots directly over the IRS ON BATT light and slightly above which act on the ENGINE SQUIB TEST buttons...I suppose that should not be that way ? I didnt check in other models...

Dear PMDG staff, I love the new Boeing 747-8. It is a visual wonder and it has been very exciting learning all the new features such as the EFB! I do have one observation, though. It seems that the seats in the flight deck are still carried from the 747-400 and are not the "newer" style, sheep skin seats that seem to be installed on this plane. All the pictures that I have seen of a Boeing 747-8 flight deck seem to have these kind of seats. It's nit-picky I know, and in the grand scheme of things not a huge deal, but if visual accuracy is the end goal then I was wondering if this could be something incorporated in an update? Nel mio caso che ho acquistato circa 10 anni fa il 747-400 X “Queen of the Skies” non direttamente da PMDG (ho un CD con la key di registration) ma da altro sito poi successivamente da PMDG ho acquistato l’extention del 747-8 con l’installazione del nuovo 747-400 V3 “Queen Of The Skies II” come devo procedere senza creare problemi? Hey, I was wondering if the Ground Vehicle liveries are still in the planning? The 744 V3 has been out for quite a while now and we haven't had any update other than that it is planned but might take some time as they're very hard to repaint. Is this still on the planning or is this idea scrapped? Thanks!

Screen will be the dark as posted image. However, it can be solved by turning off HDR. The addon I use is ENVTEX and ENVSHADE System　other than screen is normal.

It is a pleasure for me listening to VTBS female ATC controller; soft, moist voices and most of the time friendly voices. I use https://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=vtbs for the Immersion when I "fly" my B747-8 software license in China, Vietnam and Thailand. ZBAA and VHHH also have a accurate ATC but they only have male, boring controllers, as far as I know.

I'm trying to map a three way switch on my throttle quadrant to set Speed Brake lever to Down (switch UP position), Armed (switch MID position) and Flight Detent (switch DOWN position) via FSUIPC and offsets from the SDK file that comes with the 747. For all other functions I tried so far it worked without any problems, but now, the speed brake lever setting simply does not work. Hi! Sometimes I get a "NO LAND 3" message. I think it is a bug, but I'm note able to nail it. May be others have the problem, too, so that we can put together our pieces here... Here are mine: - I've made a full clean reinstallation, following the steps advised by PMDG support. It didn't help 😞 - Till now, it happens only when starting from a cold & dark scenario. I'm struggling with this problem. My Saitek has only 2 throttles. I fly mainly the B747-8 and the a319. I was hoping that PMDG would offer the option to reduce the throttle control to 1 or 2, but I didn't find that option. I tried controlling via FSUIPC and it works for the b747-8 but not for the airbus. How are you solving this problem? Jos Denis.

Hi folks, during my actual flight I pass some areas with thunderstorms and the (ASN) weather let my bird shake enormously. And the engines are shaking nicely as well! (Not the earlier exagerated one anymore.) However, the VIB indication does not show a so much higher values: Average in calm air is 0.4-0.6, in the turbulence it max'ed at 0.7. Is this right? Would in the real world VIB show higher values with a broken blade only, but not in turbulence? (Of course a broken blade --- contained or uncontained! -- is not simulated here.) Thanks in advance.

I currently own the base 747 for FSX SE. Can I install the new 747 in my PREPARED v4 Sim? Do I have to buy the base model again in the PREPARED Version to get this new model to work?

Hi! I have some proposal regarding future update for the PMDG B747-8. It would be very good if the Dev-Team could made it possible to use some of the controls in VC and that the resolution was a little bit higher. For now It is very hard for me to read the info in ND and PFD. Maybe it is also possible to make some of the dynamic light and CDU in Flight deck operational. operational.
