Hi, Just completed two flights in the amazing 747-8 and on both occasions i was getting the above and was wondering if its me rotating to quick or simple a glitch with two situations close to each other making the call "positive climb call" played first. ? Thanks Michael Moe

So I was looking at photos of Lufthansa's 747-8s and it appears that they have an antenna configuration that is unavailable in the FMC. As far as I can tell, their configuration (as it would be in the -8 FMC) is WIFI FWD, SATCOM2, VHF, ELT. The closest I can find to that is WIFI FWD, SATCOM2, ELT, but this leaves out the VHF antenna. Just curious as to how hard it would be to add this config as an option. Sterling Paulsen

Hey everyone, This is a nagging problem that's slowly driving me mad, I have a button on my joystick mapped for reverse thrust, it works flawlessly in every aircraft except the 748. In the 748 it moves the reverse thrust levers a only a small amount. Even using F1 and F2 has the same effect. Any support is appreciated, Sean

In the latest upgrade to the B744, setting the Landing Altitude to "AUTO" sets an altitude below the field elevation. Not too critical for takeoff because doors are closed before aircraft is pressurized but after landing is different story. It used to be common to keep the cabin altitude slightly above the landing altitude. This created a negative pressure that made opening the doors much easier but so slight to be undetected by the passengers. This was correctly modeled in the NGX and also in the first B744 v3, but this latest upgrade does the reverse. Is there some new logic to this or is this an oversight? Just curious. I have ATT:RST (Error ?) message on the Standby HSI where the Gyro Horizon bar should be. All else seems normal (Alt , Hdg and AS indications ). What does this message mean, and how do I correct the problem ? I tried pressing the small black "RST" button at the lower LG corner of the instrument, but did not help... Ken

Hi all, I was wondering if I just remember wrongly or if it is not working correctly: When on a Vnav Early Descent (started within 50NM of TOD) upon capturing the Idle descent path the AP pitch mode changes to VNAV PATH as expected. However the Thrust mode stays in HOLD letting the speed build up. I was expecting an automatic switch to IDLE followed by HOLD. I saw that 2 times now since the latest update....So not sure, if this is supposed to be like this ? thanks for any clarification

Hi Guys, I haven't been flying the 747v3 for months and restart flying since the -800. I messed up my flare as i Floated way too much even though it was within the LZ. But I notice that even when I released the yoke, the pitch was decreasing very very slowly. As far as i understand ground effet, it has mainly two effects : 1) as you approach closer to the ground, the vertcial speed will increase due to more lift 2) as you approach closer to the ground, the aircraft is subject to a negative ( nose down) torque. the 1) seems to be spot on but however I still reserved on 2), it seems that the decrease of pitch is due to the lost of speed afte…

As the title suggests - there is something I have noticed from watching videos of the -8 and flying the -8 in the sim. That is strobe light timings. The PMDG -8 strobe lights appear to be 1 to 2 seconds longer in duration of the flash than to that of the real aircraft. Anybody else think of this also?

Hi. Looking for ideas to resolve this. Using Pro flight yoke system and a pro flight throttle quadrant. Currently, with the 748, I am experiencing problems with the throttles ONLY after touchdown (following a flight). Cannot taxi properly after landing. The throttles are not stable, wobbling up and down, not even, and "produce thrust" high above mid position of the throttles. I did not see this behavior so far (before last update) while using the 744 or the 777. tried to re-calibrate after landing the 748 but to no results. I am not using FSUIPC but direct sim control as recommended by PMDG. Also, I cannot say at the moment if other aircraft present t…

hello, i have saved a new panel state. now when i try to use the ATC window to select ATIS or Clearance, nothing happens. the ATC window opens up but you can not select any of the opions. manually tuning the radios also does not work any ideas?

Apologize if that has been discussed already some time ago.. As far as I understand Autobrake provides for a certain deceleration rate taking into account the usage of reverses. That means that the deceleration rate will be the same with or without reversers, the reversers thus mainly helping to reduce wear on brakes ... At least on a dry runway with normal braking action I suppose Am I right that this is currently not modelled in the PMDG 744? (At least some tests I just did suggest that as the stopway with reversers using the same autobrake level is significantly shorter than without reversers) I can imagine that to be something quite complex in the gi…

Hello. I've recently installed the 'Queen if the Skies -400 and 400F, -8i and -8F aircraft. Today upon selecting the -400F and while it was loading I received a dialog box with this content showing 'Cannot get product version data - string not found'! The selected aircraft loads, however, I have no idea as to what the program is looking for! Any suggestions would be helpful. Richard Rice

I've tried installing version 3.00.90196 with the Operations Center. I've insured I'm running as Administrator. When I try to install, a command window opens very briefly and a few lines of code scrolls by (too quick to read) and then the command window closes (all within a second or two). Operations Center still shows that I have the older version installed (3.00.8605) and that a newer version is available. I've tried multiple times including doing a fresh reboot of my PC before trying. Nothing works. I've installed countless updates over the years with the Operations Center and never had any problem before. Please help.

Exactly what the Title Says, I was flying with the 748 as polar air with the GE's, and the aircraft had the same toga sound as the 744 in the cockpit, but when I would change view to the outside, it would sound like a totally different airplane. What is wrong? Andrew Jones

With latest update for B744 I have a CDU message in white: RADIO ALT R displayed and it has caused yellow caution light to stay lit. I have no active failures and the right and left radio altimeters seem to function normally. Since this is in white I assume it is informative rather than cautionary. I have everything set correctly and I have no other warnings. Is this a setting that needs to be adjusted? Or is it just one of those FSX anomalies that will disappear when I finish my flight and restart FSX? Nothing in the manuals or QRH on this issue. Anyone? Craig

Hi all love the 748 am absolute beauty to fly. One thing I noticed with the rain on the windscreen is as soon as you turn on the wiper the rain instantly even before the actual wiper moves or sure if it is a big or the sim at its limits but thought I’d ask Cheers
