PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

I have found that many addon airports will not display taxiways correctly. The problem is that many scenery designers uses "PATH for taxiways instead of "TAXI" in their AFCAD files, thus the taxiways will not be shown correctly. The starnge thing is that sometimes they are shown, but other times not, especially at junctions Either PMDG should fix this in their code (if possible), or scenery designers should be made aware that for compability with the PMDG 747-8 (and any other succesive PMDG aircraft with this feature), the change from "PATH" to "TAXI is required.

Finally got the latest version of B744 sorted but when I went to load passengers in this recent upgrade via the FMS payload page I noticed that the passenger input layout does not correspond with the layout outlined in the config files which I assume must mirror the real world layout for a "mixed" load configuration (B747-400 model). Diving into the config file I find the following capacities and positions and they agree with the actual input into FSX payload menu: Upper = 42 First Class = 21 Bus Class = 35 Sec C = 86 Sec D = 100 Sec E = 136 But the FMS only gives the following capacity per position options: First Class = 25 B…

Hi! I don't know if it's me doing some setting wrong but I really feel the landing light and taxi/ rwy turnoff light are too dim while taxiing. I can hardly see the marking or center line when I taxi or rolling on the runway while taking off or landing. Or it's realistic that it's supposed to be so? Thanks!

Don’t know if this is a bug in the flight model, or simply a consequence of the situation, but I thought I’d bring it up anyway. It seems that whenever I depart in the -8 at extremely light weights, as in 40k pounds of fuel and no payload, the nose will pitch up to the point where the tail strikes the ground on the takeoff roll. Since I like the almost comical climb rates, I almost always go TOGA on departure, but is the increased thrust the cause of this nose up tendency? The first time I experienced this was a takeoff using TOGA and flaps 20, so I decided to use flaps 10 on the next departure in the interest of reducing lift and surface area for the thrus…

HI, all I am using FSX, and having no landing gear, also in the cockpits, screens are black out, and only about 3 buttons are working. I tried rebooting about 20 time hoping to correct the problem, if it was the simconnect issue. I am still having this problem. The 744 is doing the same thing now also, ( Prior to loading 748, the 744 was working perfectly) so both the 744 & 748 are currently doingthis. Any and all HELP would be greatly appreciate very much! My Queen of the skies B747 and B748 have no 2D cockpit (normally accessible via the F10 key) and when I try to access it via the views menu all I get is a black screen. This is a letdown for me, but before I comment further on this issue I would like to get confirmation that the product indeed ships without a 2D Cockpit. Any information will be appreciated.

Hey guys, sorry If I'm playing the wise guy now, but on the side glareshield of the VC on my 747-8 the lettering of the two knobs to adjust the brightness of the PFD and ND says "CRT", but those ain't CRT, the're LCD's. According to the FCOM should say "DSPL" (10.10.67);) greeting Phil Tereny

All, currently the terminal charts function of the EFB is INOP. If you try to fetch charts for an airport you will get an airport not in Database or similar message. Navigraph is aware of this and are working for a solution

if i go out of the cockpit you can see the gear coming thru the fusselage ( UPS livery) im gonna report this to PMDG so they can fix it :)

When I am on descent below 10000 flying -8, aircraft does not follow speed constraints, it just want to slow down to final approach speed. This was not the case with -400. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Thanks. Konstantin

I bought the product on 01.03.2017 ORDER NO.383206 ,ORDER CODE-TJZ9477182938.AND NOW I cannot redownload because I have to reset my PASSWORD.why and how? One day I received notification from the PMDG center to update the product and to do that I have to remove it first and download and reinstall. S o plese will some one tell me what to do,thanks.

Hi, as per title, I discovered the 747-8 burns fuel when the sim is paused. I didn't pause it the "regular" way with the "P" button (to spare my CPU of reloading the same frame for hours) but through going into the graphics settings in P3Dv4. I had a pretty hectic schedule today (and will probably keep that the next couple of years to come) so it'd be great if the -8 would behave like the 737 and the 777 when going into the P3D menu/pausing the sim. If you have workarounds please let me know them! I didn't find time yet to read through the manual, so if this is explained I'm sorry to waste your time PMDG!

Hello, after installation of the -8 (works all ok) the 744 loads only partially (P3D restarted before selecting the 744). All panels black, all controls inop, outside view no gear. Anyone having the same issue or any solution? Regards

Thought I had the issue resolved but while I was playing around with the EFB during a flight I got another CTD. Same error codes as before. Here's the log from the event viewer below. I was told by PMDG support that the error code CLR20r3 is related to overclocking issues, and sometimes corrupt or outdated drivers. I only have factory overclocking on my GPU so I opted to reinstall my GPU driver and that seemed to do the trick for awhile. However it appears that something else is going on here. I already tried to do a clean reinstall of the driver again but that doesn't appear to remedy the problem anymore. Maybe someone here can offer some insight that PMDG support c…

Really enjoying the 748, but was wondering if there's a 3rd party texture out there or maybe something in the works officially for some cockpit textures that fit the "still smells new" state of the 748i rather than the wear and tear that's appropriate to a 20 year old 744. I've been using the PMDG Lufthansa 2018 livery, but I'm assuming they all use the same base cockpit textures. Really minor thing but would be cool. Cheers

I recently changed the default jetways at EDDF from aerosoft to SODE which was created using the gsx level2 but now my ground map is gone. This suggest that the ground map for eddf was not on the afcad. p3Dv4: On approach, the flight line (purple) turns several miles before the next active waypoint. Even though the waypoint is in the FMC and says it is next, the plane will show that it will turn before it making landing a little difficult. I usually compensate by using heading select to the waypoint and then turning manually. Clearly, this should not happen. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?? Thank so much!

I have read in some posts, that people wanted to know, how to customize the size of their panels if they have a custom screen resolution. PMDG has provided different panel.cfg files for differen screen situations, e.g. 16x9, 4:3 etc., but what if you have an odd resolution like e.g. 4160x1024 in case you are using NVIDIAs Surround? Hello, My PMDG 747-400 QOTS2 v3 freezes my sim shortly after departure. It hangs a few times and then starts working again but only to lead up to the eventual CTD. No new scenery has been added. It has worked flawlessly since the release but now I can't make it 100nm without a CTD. While waiting for boarding to be completed i played around with the EFB, and when i hit the video button i was pretty amazed to see this: Their navigational skills leave a bit to be desired though.... animated PAX are a GSX Level 2 feature btw, not PMDG
