I see the manuals are in the EFB. I'd like save the manuals to a PDF and put in on my I-pad for reading outside the sim. Can that be done? If yes, what path is the manual found?

Hello I just bought this 747-8 this week and I did search in the manual and this forum but could not find the answer, to popup the EFB I click on the the top of the EFB screen, my question is , is it possible to popup the EFB by using key combi? like shift+ 4 to popup or to toggle the FMC, thanks

What's up community, I have one question before I buy this bird, -Will PMDG include data for derated take off? Will it be implemented in the EFB?If so when? I read throughout the forum and someone suggested that PMDG isn't planning on doing so. If any of you chaps knows the answer please share it with others that hesitate buying this bird because of this problem.

Hello all, I am a bit desperate right now.. I was doing a nice flight of 7 hours on Wednesday, when I shut down my PC after this I had a windows update and when I attempted a flight yesterday I found my Sim stuttering extremely (input lags, click lags, double inputs into the CDU scratchpad while only single mouse clicking) every few seconds using the 747. And as far as I can tell only with the 747. I have tried the 777, 737, QW 787, A2A Bonanza and the TFDi 717, all work well. I have done reinstalls of several NVIDIA drivers, now I am back at the latest, have checked for updates of my sound drivers (for additional information, the F1 GTN 750 has made my sound l…

an example: Lets say the minimum speed for Flaps up is 230kn, Minimum Speed for Flaps 1 is 180kn. I'm in descend phase below 10000ft at 250kn and the next waypoint has a speed constraint of 200kn. The Aircraft is now decelerating until it reaches 230 and correctly stays at this speed to avoid stalling. And now I deploy Flaps 1 and the aircraft continues to decelerate, but it NOT keeps the 200kn constraint. It decelerates to 180kn. And so on. Each time, I deploy the next level of Flaps, it decelerates to the flaps minimum speed and does not respect the speed-constraint in the CDU Flightplan. This is really annoying, because each time i h…

Hi guys!! I have tried to install the latest update (0.9019) for the 744, however after that, it still showing the previous version, therefore I cannot install the 748 pack. Everytime when I open the PMDG OPS CENTER I get the message about the update. I choose Install Update, the msg clears but when I check the version, the previous one still there. I tried several times, I did a reboot and nothing. Did anybody have this issue? Thanks

Hello, Since the release of the 747-8, I notice that changes were made to the default panel states that ship from PMDG. Specifically, on the 747-400F (and 747-8F), the external power is plugged in and the cargo doors are open. Is it possible to access the "old" cold and dark? Thank you,

The 748 is a wonderful aircraft, but personally I don't like the panel lighting that dates back to the NG though it is a lot better than the NG its still not state of the art. So am learning to make my own with Spotlights. I would like any feedback to add to, or make what you see better. Please feel free to contribute to make this work better. All the lighting can be adjusted in intensity to your own liking. none is just fixed amount unlike the default dome 2 stage. Here is my default VC with default dome light ON. I have noticed a one thing that I have a question about. The logo light, taxi light, and strobe light do not sync up with the vPilot ACCconfig. I spoke with Ross on the vPilot forums and he said it could be the fact that the aircraft is sending other than default simconnect values for logo light, taxi light and strobe lights. Is this true? I don't know where to look for this otherwise I would look for it myself. Could you provide any information about this? I believe it was observed with testing on the 777 as well. Thanks,

hi guys absolutely loving this beauty. Quick question i am probably being dumb on but want clarification on. I know when you add / deactivate or change scenery you need to rescan the efb database. Do you also need to rescan with the airac updates? only reason im asking is because my FMC shows rwy 12 at EGPK but the EFB when use data from FMC has rwy 13 ? not a big deal but wanted to clarify why there would be a difference thanks

Hi, I love this new plane but have some questions. I saw only two PDF's that pertain to the -8. I read somewhere that there is a tutorial for it yet I can't find one on my PC. I see the KDEN to KSFO for the -400. The other one is the ND Range Knob on the MCP. Is it normal to have to scroll the mouse wheel four times before it shows the next distance out or in? For example, I have to turn the knob four times to get it to go from 20 nm to 40 nm. It's not a big deal, I was just curious if the -8 behaves this way in real life. But what is really important to me is a -8 specific tutorial. Many thanks . Jack

Gday folks Been converting a few 747-400s to 400D simply because im not a massive fan of winglets and liked the 300 series look. I have had some success by using the same process as used with the default JAL and Nippon jets but for some reason on other liveries they dont work.. I get the aircraft showing up in the selection box in P3D but when I go to load it I get no visual model error and a blank patch with engine noises when loaded.. Ive gone through and checked model, textures, config, textures config, aircraft config to make sure the air file and models are right but just wont load it..Ive renamed them so not to conflict with the existing 400 models names etc. …

Hello, With the B747-400, is it normal that on the 3 ACPs, when the right VHF receiver is ON (with light on just above the knob with arrow), it cannot be selected to OFF? All other receivers can be selected to ON or OFF. Stéphane

Hi folks, The last two flights in the 747 for P3D that I've done, I've been unable to remove the External Power and it remains AVAIL throughout the flight. Am I missing something in the documentation that I'm doing wrong, or is there some kind of error in my installation? Would rather not re-install as it's a bit of a faff and only just done it recently to remove a problem where the trim wouldn't work pre-start.

I just noticed the following on the 744 BCF. I started a scenario which had been saved with a ZFW of 470.2 (LBSx1000) . Then I added fuel via the CDU -Menu. After that I got different ZFW indications on the PAYLOAD and on the FUEL page in the CDU3. While the FUEL page still showed 470.2, the PAYLOAD page was showing now 484.9 So which weight does the aircraft really have now ? I finally entered again 470.2 on the PAYLOAD page to be sure, but this seems to be a little bug. doesnt it? best regards

Hi all, I have been observing the following extremly annoying behaviour on the 744 BCF over the last weeks since the major update. Until now I have not been able to identify the exact conditions under which it happens though...So I will post it here to see if anybody else saw that. Upon touchdown the aircraft many times gets into a very agressive pitch down acceleration , like wanting to "hammer" down the nosewheel on the runway. In many cases however the movement suddenly stops before the nosewheel reaches the runway, making it necessary to put it down onto the runway manually then. In other ocasions the movenment continues until the nosewheel hits the ground…

On the 777 and 787, Boeing recommends to leave the autothrottle on during landing, even when performing manual flight. To my understanding, this is due to the use of fly-by-wire. However, I wonder if the same applies to the 747-8. Since the -8 shares a type rating with the -400, that would lead me to believe that you are supposed to disengage the autothrottle during manual flight. However, since the -8 utilizes fly-by-wire, that would lead me to believe that you are supposed to leave the autothrottle on. Clearly, I’m not sure which is right. Can anyone shed some light on what Boeing recommends for the 747-8?
