PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

  1. Well i was cruising and doing a normal flight that's when i decided to try 'Engine 1 Severe Damage'. I armed the failure to happen after 30 second and waited for it. I expected to get an EICAS warning message (ENG FAIL) or any sort of warning indication which didn't happen. All i could notice was Cockpit shake followed by Engine no.1 spooling down and start windmilling. As Kyle suggested in some older post that for a Severe Engine damage the core should get locked and not have any rotation. It doesn't seem to agree here. The only time i could notice "ENG FAIL" message was when i tried resetting the failure which caused the message to appear for few seconds…

  2. Hello to everybody: I have noted that the "SEATBELTS OFF" white message in the EICAS, always stays on, regardless of where I place the selector switch on the pedestal of the B747-8. As a matter of fact, the "SEATBELTS OFF" message remains, even when the "SEATBELTS ON" message appears when I select that option (from the three OFF/AUTO/ON) on the selector switch. So that both messages appear at the same time. If I select "AUTO" the "SEATBELTS OFF" message remains. Is anybody else experiencing this, before I open a ticket (if I am not doing anything wrong?)     Hello, I just did a leg in which I landed using a GPS approach with FAC and G/P captured (APP button lit). I did not restart a new flight but continued in the same session. Even after disengaging autopilot multiple times I cannot select LNAV/VNAV - the APP stays engaged with FAC and G/P still in green on my PFD. Any help on to get autopilot to function normally after a leg? thanks! -Casey

    I'm having some trouble configuring the Auto Throttle Arm switch so that I can turn it off as I cross the threshold for landing. I have a Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X with two buttons assigned on my joystick throttle controller (left hand), one for the Auto Throttle Arm and one for the Autopilot On\Off. When I am on final approach I can turn the Autopilot (and warning off) with two presses of the Joystick button assignment but I cannot turn the Auto Throttle off. When I press the assigned button, I can hear the sound and see the little switch on the throttle quadrant move but the Auto Throttle switch on the MCP does not disarm.     Hi, Plt´s! Maybe it just in my PC setup. During any numbers of degrees push back service from GSX the N/W tiller shakes violently in V/C. The issue only occurs in B747-8.

I have recently installed the PMDG 747-400 v3 in P3D v4 (after switching from P3D v3), and I noticed today that the runway numbers at EGPK Prestwick (UK2000 Prestwick Xtreme) are not identified correctly in the FMS. The main runway is designated as 13/31, but this should be 12/30. This was not a problem in P3D v3, so I am not sure how to correct this. I have run the MAKERWYS utility to update the RAAS data, but I assume that the FMS information is in a separate database. Can someone please let me know if I have just forgotten an install/setup procedure? If not, is this something that I can easily correct?

    Hello, I just purchased this software and when I try to install, it tells me it has detected an outdated version of P3D v4. I think I was running 4.1, so I updated to 4.4 and l still get the error. I did confirm I purchased the correct version of the software. Incidentally, I tried to log into the support to submit a ticket and it tells me the username or password is incorrect, when I try to "sign up" it tells me the email is already in use. When I sign into the store, that works, but when I click on the support tab, I need to sign in again and that is where it won't let me. Thanks, Gerry

  9. I have the fuel/tank config set to auto because I mostly fly overnight longhaul flights when I sleep. Sometimes everything is fine when I return, but often it's not. Ie. today I was flying from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt (13,5 hours), and after several hours into the flight, the stab L R warning showed up (they were off when I left the cockpit, and should have been turned on (when ctr was empty?). Also the CTR L and R were not configured correctly (they were on when I left the plane, but should have been turned off). I guess this automatic setting of the fuel and tank system is supposed to be for people like me who leave their flights, but it seems it's not working a…

  11. I really enjoy the 747-8, but I’ve found myself flying other aircraft as I often struggle with finding good destinations suitable for her long legs. I typically fly passenger flights with the United livery (UVA Member). I’m wondering if it’s cause I lack a good variety of scenery for overseas destinations? EGLL, PHNL, and OMDB are my only really good overseas sceneries. So, any suggestions? Where is everyone flying? Good sceneries to purchase? Help me spend more time in the -8!

I recently purchased and installed PMDG 747-400 in my FSX (and the update too) (computer = Windows 10 v 1809) when I launch the aircraft, no PMDG complement appears in the menu bar; so it is impossible to start a flight cold and dark for example. It was the same after installing the 747-8 extension pack. Does someone have the solution to this problem ? Thank you Agnes

    Hi all, So when I'm descending I often use FLC mode to descend, and often by a certain point I'll need to level off and maintain a certain speed. If I try and input a speed on the MCP, nothing happens, but also if I press the speed hold button the AP seems to stay in the previous mode. It also seems to do this when in VNAV mode. To engage speed mode I first have to engage alt hold/VS then I can engage speed or thrust mode. What I'm asking is what is the correct way? How should I be doing this? Reason being I once disengaged the AP but left the AT on, I leveled off (maybe a little early) and instead of the AT either disengaging or applying more power, it kept …

    Must have changed out the brake pads on the tugs. Seems to me that before the latest update to the -400 the end of the pushback came to a gradual stop. Now it comes to a sudden stop. Doesn't do this on the 777 or737. Default PMDG pushback. Not GSX. Anybody else see this.

  19. I did a flight in the 772 earlier today in FSX SE, without problems, after which I shut down the sim. I have just tried to load the QOTS for another flight and get the above error when selecting an aircraft. I closed FSX and Steam and tried again with the same result. I have tried a number of liveries without luck. I tried the 737NGX and that loaded without a problem. Can anybody help please? Rob

    I just installed the 747 and I am interested to know what my P3D Yoke and Rudder settings should be, for example the null zones and sensitivity, as I notice there is nothing in the manual regarding this.   23. Hi guys, I don't know if it's just me but has anyone encountered CTD in P3D 4.4 with 747 QOS II? I loaded the queen (-400F) in KMSP and took off without a problem. But when I switched to the external camera in locked viewpoint the engine sound seemed to be struggling to play well. Looks like the sound engine didn't go along with the 747 sounds. And if you do that camera switch a few times, chances are it'll crash to desktop. Could that have anything to do with the P3D v4.4? Has there been an update of all pmdg aircrafts made for the 4.4?     Hi! Had a rather strange issue yesterday when landing on LEIB... I landed with autobrake 2 and full reverser, (cant really remember the landing weight but I was not even close to max landing weight). And autobrake engaged without problems and I waited until something like 80kts ground speed, then I used manual brakes to increase braking a little bit to be able to use a earlier exit that first planned. However right after that. (used the brakes for perhaps 2 or 3 seconds) Then I got an Brake temp warning message followed by all of the main wheels "exploding" which caused me to be stationary on the exit...     Hi All. Just got back to the flightdeck on a trans-atlantice route to find my 744 at 7000ft and close to stall speeds with only 2 engines live. Wondering whether PMDG model the minimum fuel temp, because thats all I got for the cause. If the temp goes below minimum then the fuel crystalises and blocks the fuel lines. Thisis the only reason I can think of as to why the aircraft failed to engines at that sort of altitude. Anybody know any more? Thanks!!
