Hello! While i´m working on a new repaint for my 747-8I i saw that there is no weather and dirt layer for the engines (pmdg_747X_engines.psd). Is there a chance of an update for the Paintkit?

So I purchased a TrackIR. I have been scanning through the FCOMs of my various aircraft to find the correct eye reference to correctly adjust the seat (or in our case on a sim adjust the cam) to have the optimum position for each one. Ive hit a snag with the 747 though, the only thing I was able to find is that the eye position indicators vertical line (the black crosshair on the edge of each window) is supposed to be at the edge of your field of view. My problem (if I understand this correctly) is that this only takes care of 1 dimension (moving the seat back and forward) What visual reference should I be using to move the seat/cam up and down? T…

Not a big deal, but I 'd appreciate if somebody told me how to change the reading of the main panel aircraft registration placard. Thanks for your time.

Hello, I have 2 questions.. 1) Sometimes I'm not able to enter a new speed or altitude for a waypoint in the FMC. I'm receiving the message "INVALID ENTRY". This is happening in flight but also on ground. The entering format is definetely correct. Does someone have an idea why this is happening? 2) Another problem is that the plane is not changing the speed when in LNAV/VNAV mode, although I have changed the speed for the next waypoint. To explain it more in detail. The plane is on the way to waypoint BAM. The waypoint currently has the speed 250 and the altitude 5000. Before reaching BAM I change the speed to 270 which works fine in the FMC. The plane …

Since this keeps popping up, I'll mirror the Tutorial content here (though with a slight variation), and add a little bit of detail. The >FUEL TANK/ENG message pops up to notify you that you need to configure the tanks such that each TANK is fueling an ENGine (TANK per ENG, or TANK/ENG). If you look at the FUEL page, you will see that the only pumps running all four engines up to this point are the OVRD pumps in MAIN 2 and MAIN 3. These pumps are heaving fuel out of these tanks to keep all four engines running, and the reason you're running all of the engines off of these tanks is that they can hold a lot more fuel than the outboards (think of the profile of the wi…

Hello friends! Today I wanted to make my first flight with the 747-400(QOTS II)from Manchester to Lisbon but a strange thing happened after aircraft initialization. The plane started moving(at this time the panel state was "Short" selected, but it happens also whatever the panel is)and I saw on the ND a TAS of 100 kt. My default flight is the F22, engines running. I stopped P3D4.4 and restarted it selecting the 747-8. This time this plane stayed at the gate after initialization. I tried also the 747-8F and the 747-400F but it seems to affect only the 747-400. Any clue what's going on guys? Thanks for help, Regards Pat

Good morning, In my opinion it's not realistic to have the rain effect on the windshield completely disappear after around 90-100 knots, so that there is no rain effect in flight. At least the effect should be present up to 140-150 knots. Look at the video below: you can clearly see water streaks on the windshield at 144 knots (around minute 5:30). What do you think?

Using B744 v1.3 latest upgrade on FSX SP2. Over 60 flights never an issue. Today after complete preflight DNMM-FTTJ I attempted to log into ACARS by bringing up middle CDU and selecting ACARS from the menu then selecting "preflight" but instead of getting the page to fill in my ETD, ETE, and Air carrier code, I get the message: PERF INIT DATA NOT ENTERED and no other options except to return to the MENU. I double checked my preflight data and all had been entered into all pages of the PERF, THRUST LIMIT, TAKEOFF, as well as the 3 VNAV pages. The IRS's were aligned. Everything was ready for pushback and taxi, so do not u…

Hi I've just put a request in the repaint requests section of the forum, I'm adding a link here in case one of the highly talented painters who frequent this board might take a look. (if this is against the rules then I'm happy for the moderators to delete this thread) Cheers Steve Mckenna

Hello, I'm looking for a decent tutorial on youtube explaining how to produce and deal with an engine fire. So far I was even too stupid to produce a smoking engine via the PMDG Actions menu in the CDU. Thank you! Best regards Andreas

I noticed that after updating last night, it takes very little throttle input (even with just two engines) to move the aircraft (on a long haul load-out with 80% capacity) ... this is definitely different than prior version. Obviously I have NO idea which is more accurate, but where changes made in the area of rolling resistance? Cheers, Rob. EDIT: this was in the rain at KSFO (FB's) and rain should increase rolling resistance and reduce stopping efficiency.

Hi All I have a frustrating issue with the QOTSll (B747-400 and 800) in Prepar3dv4 in that Navigraph data (Cycle 1901) registers as out of date in the FMC IDENT PAGE. The following appears on the relevant page: "Model 747-400, Nav Data AIRAC-1901 JAN03JAN30/19 NAV DATA OUT OF Date." However all relevant data correctly installed into the Prepar3Dv4/PMDG/NavData folder. Also, the cycle_info.txt is correctly shown as AIRAC cycle: 1901,Version:1, Valid (from/to): 03/JAN/2019 - 30/JAN/2019. Any assistance in resolving this issue will be appreciated.

I have noticed recently a couple of my aircraft have a mismatch between the registration on the panel/fuselage and the registration shown when the livery is selected and on the Aircraft Options page on CDU. For example, the Air New Zealand livery has a G- rego on the Aircraft page and the Delta livery has a 9V- rego. My recollection from a similar problem with the NGX some time ago is that if I change the rego when the livery is selected to match the fuselage then all is well. Is that right? Rob Stevenson

Hello, for some reason the A/T off and arm switch cant be activated with the P3D function autothrottle (arm) as it can be done in the PMDG 737. Does someone have an idea for the reason or a workaround? Thanks! Best regards Andreas

I cant manage to get thje APU to start on the ground. I have held the switch on for a few seconds as someone else suggested and it still will not start. I have even set my old C&D start, but still no joy. Whats so different between the 800 and 400 that stops me starting the APU? The 400 works fine. Thanks Keith

Since this keeps popping up, I created a quick video on how to get the main deck cargo door(s) to open up. As noted in the Intro Manual, whichever power source you are using needs to be split between ON and AVAIL. If you're on APU, one side can be in use, but the other must be AVAIL. Same goes for the GPU. Chances are, you're using both, which is preventing the door(s) from opening.
