PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

no issues starting engines on the first flight. however, after completing the first flight, i can only start 1 engine. i continue to get "hung" starts on all but 1 engine is this a bug or am i doing something wrong. on APU with duct pressure reading normal

Hi has anybody else had this problem, it has happened to me twice now on long haul flights... I was in the EFB and when i exited was unable to pan around the cockpit. I was able to move switches that were in my field of vision, but was not able to move around. I used change view to spot plane, but i was not able to pan around the aircraft. When i re-entered the virtual cockpit, i was still stuck in the original position.... any ideas ? Regards Andrew Beaumont

In this screenshot you can see the 747-8 CDU. See the route? It's KSAN to KSTS. I had made a flight in the NGX and this was the city pair. So when I finished the flight I shut down P3D 4.4 and rebooted the PC. I then loaded the 747-8 and was going to set up a route from KATL to KMCO but look what I got. I went to the PMDG flight plan folder for the 747 and not one PFPX flight plan. But this one was in the NGX flight plan folder. So how in the world did the 747-8 get this NGX flight plan? All I could do was take a flight plan I created in PFPX for the 747 and load it via COROUTE. Then I had the route. Thanks

If you hit the upper most part of the Right Washer switch between the top of the switch and the word Washer, you deploy the Ram Air Turbine. This has been verified by 4 other users. Image Video

Hi, really not sure what the source of this problem is but I'll try. Yesterday I flew KEWR - EDDK about a 7 hour flight if I remember correctly. first part of the flight was completely fine however just before T/D the sim started to freeze for 30-40 seconds, with the feeling of a CTD being unavoidable however after 40 seconds it came back to life for a couple of seconds and then back to freeze again. did this something like 10 times before I gave up and closed p3d. This has never happened before. have flown longer routes without any freezes. The thing that has changed is that I have updated P3d to version 4.4 and updated the 747-8 to the latest version. Ju…

I was trying to do a short flight at the highest ZFW option of 635k, like i have in the recent past, and noticed I could only go to 610k. I opened the 400F CFG file and saw that there was no optional 635k zfw listed. I tried different airframes, same result. Usually PMDG models the highest available weights so the user can then dictate what they want, but it seems I'm being forced to limit myself to 610k. ( I know, only 25k difference, not the biggest deal). Why the change on the update?

Since I updated to the latest P3D v4 version of the 747, I have noticed that the plane "pitches down quite suddenly" when the thrust reduces at the top of a climb. I would not expect such a heavy aircraft to do this, and I do not see it in either the 737 NGX or 777. I guess at this point it is also worth mentioning the "bounce" when thrust is reduced to idle at the start of the descent. Can I ask if these two "issues" (since I consider them to be so) will be addressed by the upcoming patch? EDIT: I have just noticed that the update has been released!

Being already proficient with the QOTSII, having just acquired the Expansion last night after sitting on the fence for ages, do I require a Tutorial to get to grips with the Expansion, and if so, where do I locate a text Tutorial(PDF format) rather than You Tube, which I eschew? Thanks

Hey all. I saved a flight in the 747-8i while airborne, quit and relaunched Prepar3D, and reloaded the flight. Now my IFSD has a "HDG" flag and the compass is blanked out. The QRH and FCOM don't seem to have any guidance on how to address this issue. Any ideas? For what it's worth, when I saved the flight, I was north of 70 degrees latitude and navigating by true heading. All other systems seem to have been restored from the save OK.

Hi, I'm considering buying the 747-8 but I'm still with 4.3... do I need to upgrade to v4.4 ?

I'm flying the -8 from EGSS to KATL. P3D 4.4 Almost to KATL and I had several warnings that were caused by me. Autopilot disconnect, and then altitude alert. Neither one is giving a sound. I'm getting engine auto inside and out of the cockpit. Thanks

Since updating to the latest update for the 400 I have noticed that setting my descent altitude on the MCP well before hitting T/D the aircraft doesn't start descent via the VNAV profile. I haven't changed the way I set up my flight planning and everything is correct. To initiate the descent I have to manually start descent via the VS dial, wait until the aircraft is about 500 feet below the T/D altitude and then hit VNAV, that is the only way I can get VNAV to activate and control the descent. The speed is decreasing and going below set speed but with no change in altitude. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just an issue on my side? VNAV works as it should duri…

Hi. Wondering if this is a problem with my panel states or Possible bug. I’ve tried with Cold & Dark and Short and a custom panel I have made. Flying on the 747-400 British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic liveries. I’m on the RWY 08R at EGKK. The normal Map display is showing the correct heading of 079. When I switch to PLN mode to review my Flight Plan the the HDG is showing 002 MAG and the compass rose display is showing the RWY at about 130 degrees. If I go back to MAP and then press CTR to get the full compass rose then back to PLN the RWY 08L is showing it’s on a heading of 150 degrees and the heading indicator is still showing 002MAG. The 747-8F was working fine in 4.3, I disable the antivirus proceded with OC to update. Upon lunch P3d the -8F didn't shows the landing gear and all the panel completly freezed, then I did another update that came for the rain effect. Same situation after the update. So need to reinstall everithing from scratch, can't imagine how much I love this.

Guys, I'm looking for ideas here... the 747-8 is now unflyable for me. I NEVER had even one hiccup prior to the update. I'm getting constant NTDLL.DLL crashes, but only with the 747-8. I've been trying to complete a flight from EDDF to KIAD. I've tried everything I can think of short of a complete uninstall/re-install. In addition to multiple restarts, I've disabled GSX, attempted the Restart Coutal fix, updated graphics drivers, deleted shaders, etc.... Nothing works. Any ideas? Not new to Flt Sim or troubleshooting it, been in the hobby since pre FS4. Help!

Occasionally I get some lower flight levels and I was wondering if the auto step climb would work with that or is it strictly for climbing? also if my initial is at FL380 and I have go down to FL370 do I still type it as 37000S even though it's lower? -Angelo Busato

After doing a re-install per instructions on steam, I now have a PMDG 747 at the gate ,but with only textures 'grey' with the words 'Intentionally Untextured Shadow Model' on the fuselage. I am also getting limited textures with other PMDG, and default aircraft, 'only cockpit and wings in external view', The VC, and default cockpits are all working ok from internal views in all aircraft, and EZDOC seems to working fine? Is there something I have forgotten to update?, or is it something else? Any assistance would be appreciated...MickF

with the 400 v4 everything works with original liveries with the default panel but if you install from the site pmdg a livery es livrea KLM I can not set the v1 vr v2 on the fmc tried to re-establish without succes

Hello, I downloaded and installed a custom livery for the 744F and experienced a problem with the strobe lights on the aircraft. They seem to be "stuck" in the flash, i.e. they stay on constantly instead of flashing. I know that the 744 has shorter flashes than the 748 due to the strobes not being LEDs, but in this case they stay on constantly. I believe this is a bug for this particular livery, as I have not experienced it with any other. Is there any way I can amend a .cfg file to fix this issue? As a returnee to the B74x after a time away, I am finding difficulty in understanding how the EFB and standard cockpit procedures should interrelate. Presumably when UGCX is released, we will add another layer of procedures to these. Can you ensure that there is some documentation at release that defines when each of these procedures should be performed? Many thanks.

I got two Thai jets registered as HS-TGP, do I have to give them two different registrations to avoid confusing the panel configuration? Or can two different liveries share the same name just fine? -Angelo Busato

I have noticed that the strobes are no longer operational. They look to be just a steady light now on the wingtips. The strobe switch is ineffective.

Hi, just as the header indicates, I do not have a mouse wheel functionality on those settings. Only by left and right click I can change in single units and that takes ages to change things when you land in higher altitude mountains. It is the same on the B747 as on the B777. On all other dials the acceleration with mouse wheel works perfectly for me, just missing on those two parameters. Hope you can have a look and implement. P3Dv4.3 is used here.
