Hi there all, AVSIM seems to of changed since i last made a post and added an image. For some reason i'm having trouble this time. When i click the add image button on the forum post i enter the URL of the image which i have got from uploading the image to dropbox, I then get an error from AVSIM telling me i cannot use this file extension on this community? I have edited the image and re-saved it as a different file type and then repeated the above process but i'm still getting the same message. Does anyone have any idea what i am doing wrong? It would be a great help as i can't really post my topic without adding the picture. Thank you, Michael.

The audible cockpit alarms (terrain, 500, etc.) in the Carenado SR 22 are way to loud. Anyone know how to turn them down? Thanks.

Wonder no more, because my father used to be a private pilot when we lived in the U.S.A. Hello all, thank you for letting me join your forum. I work in a school am am looking to bring a fun but educational flight sim experience to the children. I have a 4m wide fixed projector screen with a decent projector, great sound system and a range of decent PCs at my disposal. My plan was to mock up some kind of seating arrangement a few meters away from the projector screen. Hello everyone, I just got an my i7 4790K and I am pretty much not satisfied with the FPS I am getting. 20 - 25 with airbus aerosoft 15 - 22 with pmdg NGX I tried to to tweak my CFG but it looks like nothing is really improving. I added HIGHMEMFIX=1 Affinity mask set to 84 Bufferpool I am using also steve dx10 fixer. Help guys I think i can get more than this FPS with 4ghz I7 processor. Thank you,

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking around AVSIM for the past two years, since just after the start of my enthusiasm for flight simulation. I've been an aviation enthusiast since I was young, but I grew up without any knowledge that flight simulators such as FS2002 even existed. Nowadays, though, I fly on VATSIM and/or IVAO with FSX-SE at least once a week, mostly for my three VAs - BAVirtual, vRYR, and vEZY. Hope to see you in the virtual skies soon!

Hello, I'm new to this or any forum. I'm a pc builder and fsx enthusiast. I have been working on a customers pc for the last few weeks trying to solve his low frame rate issue. He has p3d and by the looks of it an airbus of some kind installed. When flying in an area such as klax or ksfo with his airbus the frames drop down to 8-12. This only seems to happen with his addon planes, stock aircrafts all get 40-55 fps in the same locations. As for settings, only thing that impacts frames is the scenery complexity slider. Moving that 1 notch to the right gives him 15-18 but it looks horrible, moving it 2 notches to the right and the sim becomes a slides how lol. My diagn…

Hello, I installed the latest Linda version 2.7.0. Everything looks fine. I've got a MCPII combo. The radio part of the MCPII combo works fine with FSX (PMDG 737 NGX). However the MCP and EFIS part do not communicatie with FSX. What to do? Who knows a solution? I would be very grateful. Cees

Hey all Another newbie here. I've been simming on and off since the days of MSFS 98. I now use FSX:SE and I have a bought some nice add ons. Thinking of making the switch to P3D but I'm not really sure if I would have to re purchase my addons so I'll need to do a bit more research. Hi there people it has been at least a year since I've visited avsim and it's good to be back. Been steadily/fairly consistently getting some flights in.......mostly short hops in the CRJ using FSX and it's going well so now I would like to branch out and connect with other fs pilots and groups to fly with. Here's the thing....since I've been away I got a new computer but it came with no dvd player to load my old FSX Gold discs so I opted to jump onto Steam which wasn't around the last time I came on. Hi I just have a quick question wether or not tailwind and headwind is simulated in fsx? I'm flying the NGX737 and occasionally I get really strong tailwinds or a really strong headwind but it doesn't seem to affect my plane at all. The same with speed really. So if I'm doing a flight that is say 2 hours long and I get like 50+ tailwind it would still take at least 2hrs if not more. And for the speed Like when the FMC estimates to arrive at the destination at a certain time and if I increase the cost index and fly at a higher speed it doesn't change at all, still predicts the same.

I'm new to the site and I'm in the process of setting up multiple monitors. On my glass cockpit, i have three touch screen monitors. I'm able to get them all to work just fine, but I would like one of them to operate in "portrait" mode. When I rotate my monitor in the set-up in my nvidia card, then go to display settings in fsx the display is not recognized. Rotate it back and fsx sees it just fine. Does anyone know how to set just one screen up in portrait mode, all others will operate in landscape mode??? Thanks in advance for your help. Tim

I have a question about a freeware aircraft I downloaded from the AVSIM library, but I'm not sure where to post it. I notice a lot of freeware support forums, but they seem to be for specific types or brands of freeware, and my question comes more under "Miscellaneous Freeware" or "Other Freeware", for which there does not appear to be a forum. Essentially, I downloaded the Boeing 717-200 by David Robles, and can't get the SFX panel to work. The switches are operational, but no sound plays, and when I mouse over them, I get "File Not Found", even though I do have the required sound files and have installed them in the main "Sound" folder. Hi Everyone, My name is Paul and I've recently purchased FSX - Deluxe together with a Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant. I'm an ex RAF brat so always loved planes and always fancied having a go at flying one...... :smile:. I also got bored playing World of Warcraft (after 5 years). The one main issue I have in the sim is keeping the damn plane flying at the right altitude...........I always seem to porpoise through the sky.............lol. New around the flight sim community and somewhat new to aviation. I was in aviation maintenance when in the military, but got away from it for some years now. I'm currently on the path to getting my PPL and decided to pick up a flight sim to help me along. Currently using P3D w/ REX4 + Soft Clouds, ASN, Aivlasoft EFB, and I have Pro ATC though not sure how I feel about it yet. I make albums of my flights on Imgur, if you guys want to check them out.
