Hi. Just joined, looked at the FAQ but did not find the answer. Will these downloads play on just a PC or can they be played on a PlayStation console to? I was told that the Kolb Firefly flight simulator that I am interested in can be played if it is added to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and played through a PC. Is that the only way to play it? Any info. or suggestions appreciated, thanks, Mike

Hi AVSIM community, I’m a flight operations student based in Salt Lake City. As a future pilot I’m looking to get involved and fly not only at school. I’m completely new to the virtual side of flight operations. Currently, I'm studying for my PPL. I thought having a simulator at home will help me to develop better and more successful skills when flying a real airplane, of course, having fun while flying with others online. Hallo,. I would probably be considered a lapsed member as I have not had the time to spare to indulge myself in this fascinating pastime due to health matters for over a year.. Some time has passed since I used any flight sims and found that now with windows 10 upgrades I (and many others according to posts I have read on other sites ) seem to be in trouble running almost all Microsoft Simulators on 10. I had to reinstall FX Steam from the discs. Can't get a 172 with Garmin panel it shows up in sim objects airplane list , but not in the "select aircraft " inventory. HELP !

hello , could you please explain to me the second step ? One Engine Inoperative Landing <> 1- Plan a flaps 15 landing. 2- Set VREF 15 or VREF ICE. If any of the following conditions apply, set VREF ICE = VREF 15 + 10 knots: Engine anti–ice will be used during landing Wing anti–ice has been used any time during the flight Icing conditions were encountered during the flight and the landing temperature is below 10° C. 3- Maintain VREF 15 + 5 knots or VREF ICE + 5 knots minimum on final approach to assure sufficient maneuver margin and speed for go-around. 4- Use engine anti-ice on the operating engine only. regards

Hey Guys ! So I downloaded Vox Atc for Fsx to make my experience more realistic. After starting up a flight plan and clicking the enable button in the vox atc panel, it gives me 6.52 initializing and i can here the AI voice say '' Test, test, test''. After this it stays at 6.52 initializing and never starts up. ive followed all the instructions in the user manual. I also have an issue with turning off default atc in fsx that may cause the problem with vox atc. whenever I uncheck the '' Show atc text'' and leave the page to another, such as free flight or missions, it rechecks itself automatically. Hello everyone, I need some help solving a re-installation issue with P3D v3.3. I have been using V2 for some time now and think its brilliant. However, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase V3. The original installation went ok and the program ran fine. Unfortunately, I did something which corrupted some files, and I was getting various messages: 1. Scenario file: C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local|Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Prepar3D_Default.fxml failed To Load. This could be due to a malformed XML. file. 2. This default scenario is corrupt. I first flew on the Apple II SubLogic flight sim many, many years ago, and eventually graduated to Sierra's ProPilot. Since then I've been away from the hobby, so I have no idea what's going on these days. I just picked up FSX-Steam Edition, and started playing with it while I wait for my first HOTAS joystick to be delivered. I'm having fun flying around with the ultralight model with mouse and keyboard (what a pain!). Hi there, I recently got an Oculus Rift and I'm ready to return to the current incarnation of subLogic Flightsim (ie. FSX:SE) after eight years of absence. I've tried it briefly with "FlyInside" with several of the included aircraft, but the cockpits were just as ugly as I remembered them, and I had quite a bit of trouble getting used to the user interface in VR, yet it was obvious that a very special experience is waiting for me there. Hi, after years of "hibernation" I decide to come back to flight simming I will go to use Prepar3d Currently I have this configuration I7-3930K @ 4.1 ATI 5870 (I used for fsx) that will be replaced by a GTX 1070 monitor: dell 2410 (HD) but probably I will go to a WQHD in the future I read that the cpu is still very imoprtant I have some questions 1- as I have many add-on for prepar3d (i own it with regular license don't worry) is my cpu enough? 2- for prepa3d install folder is bettef an ssd? Hi All, I have been a fan of flight sim for many years. I am in the process of bringing my PC into the 21st century.. My current pc specs are as follows. Windows 8.1 I7 3770 @ 3.40 GHZ 16g Dual Channel DDR3 @ 798 MHTZ NVidia GT545 1.5GIG graphics card. Lenovo Mother board. The pc is about 3 yrs. old, I feel the bottle neck is the graphics' card and ram when today you can get DDR at 2.5GHTZ, I know there is DDR4 but from what I have read FSX really relies on CPU power ( please correct me if I am wrong as I am not a PC Guru) What I am thinking of getting is the following, please feel free to tell me if this is really overkill. I want to know if there are any books about the programming or how to program FS9 and FSX? I want to learn how it all works and start learning how to manipulate, change and/or upgarde the programs, and how to create aircraft, scenery. AI etc? Hey guys. I wonder, is the flight sim community expanding? shrinking? or is it stable? I spoke about this topic with a friend, who has been simming for way longer than I have. He says that the number of people simming around the world is in the "hundreds of thousands" area, out of an approximate (and seriously this is just an estimate) of 2 billion people (out of 7 billion) in the world who play games. This topic came up as a result of prices of add-ons. The prices, in my opinion, are in the medium range, with many add-on airports costing somewhere between $20 and $40, add-on aircraft between $50 and $150, and large scale ground scenery $40 - $100. is there a mb or gb limit to the amount files you can put into FSX addon scenery ? I think I hit the limit, after the last one I put in all the entries in the priority window went blank. removing some entries from the addons was no help. Had to go back to a restore point to get it workin again also---- would it be possible to make up separate "addon scenery" folders and swap them out, say by country ?

how do I install addon scenery in FSX ? I can't find where it goes !

Hi all, I am completely new to the world of flight sims, and was wondering where the best place to start was. I know everyone has their own personal favorite, but that favorite may be partially influenced by a large existing investment in addons. So I was wondering, if you were starting today, with no previous investment, what do you think the best route would be? FSX boxed, FSX Steam, P3D, xPlane, or something else? I am mainly interested in general aviation planes, with some day trying out airliners. I am completely content with a program that takes a more structured approach to learning. My only interest in combat planes would be in the form of classic warbirds …
