I have a copy of X-Plane 10 which I bought a few years ago. I am not using X-Plane and have removed it from my PC. Can I legally give (not sell) these 8 disks to someone else?

  3. Hi, I am having problems getting my local airport (Doncaster Sheffield) to be shown in FS9 software. I have had PMDG 737NG software from way back. Recently I have started to use it in a more serious way. I managed to get a copy of PMDG 737 800/900 which works great and has increased my enjoyment a great deal. However, it simply will not see EGCN and its related ILS. This appears in my Plan-G software with no problem. I imagine the problem is to do with both pieces of software working with different databases. The choice of an 800 or 900 brings a rapid reference to 'loading' database (very rapid), but this does not happen with any of the other planes - though they also do …

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I recently picked FSX again from steam. Previously I owned the boxed edition of FSX back when my computer didn't have enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding. How times have changed. Firing up FSX on my fairly newish computer gave me a pleasant surprise with decent frame rates achieved. No more chugging along at 10 fps, lol. Anyhow I am from the North Island of New Zealand so I think one of the first addons I will consider will be ORBX NI NZ - I have viewed a few youtube videos and it looks superb. I have always had an interest in aviation history and also used to do a bit of tinkering with …

  6. Started by David_MC,

Having been a avsim member for an awful long time it's about time I make a proper introduction. I am a 24 year old Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering major at Oklahoma State University and I got into flight simulation back when I was about 10-11 years old with Flight Simulator 2002. I am currently doing the bulk of my simming in FSX but I also do a little bit in X-Plane 10, as FSX performs better on my laptop. I do hope to build in nice high performance desktop after I graduate for FSX and X-Plane 11. I mainly fly small aircraft (single and dual engine props) although I occasionally do play with some bigger jets (Qualitywings 757, Commercial Level MD-81/82/87 and Wi…

Hi All, Now that my 24hrs is up, can finally introduce myself. I have been an FS pilot, on and off, for years from FS4 until FSX (which I currently use). I recently reinstalled FSX after watching FS videos on Youtube. The system I have is not the greatest for FSX, but it does the job for now, and I need to get myself a decent controller as well. I recently acquired the PMDG 737NGX, and am loving it so far. Plan on getting on VATSIM/IVAO as soon as I am comfortable with the 737. B

Greetings comrades, I have just downloaded FS2crew FO Global voice, NGX Reboot. I installed it, ran fsx in the 737-No first officer! Uninstalled it, downloaded it again re-installed it, still stony silence. Am I stupid or is there a bug? Warm Regards Bill MacLeod

Hi All, I wanted to write a quick note to say hi. I'm Zack, a totally blind flight sim enthusiast from the US. I'm only able to play with FSX at all thanks to the add-on community, in particular a lovely program called Its Your Plane. It allows me to control many planes largely by voice command, which while it isn't realistic is probably the closest I'm going to get. I was really into FSX back in 2009 or thereabouts, and have just been bitten by the bug again. I used to love exploring add-ons for ATC and traffic and the like, and need to work on rebuilding my collection. It's a mildly expensive hobby, however. Scenery and so forth isn't very useful for me, obv…

Hello all, I just recently got a new computer with Windows 10. The graphics and the sim are running great, but there is one problem. I have tried running a 15 hour flight, and will fly for an hour, and then set the autopilot. Because of the flight being so long, I turn off the monitor of my desktop, and then let the sim run for eight hours when I go to bed, before waking up and checking the flight and then landing it when it is time. I have tried this flight 4 times, and each time I have woken up, checked the flight sim and found the computer’s home screen on the screen. I can still click on the FSX icon, and it brings me to the flight, but it will be paused for multipl…

  18. Hello all. I am hoping someone reading here can help me. I am writing you from Winnipeg, Manitoba. We just bought a new iMac. Before we had Windows and my husband used Flight Simulator 2004 A Century of Flight. He used a CHProducts - Flight Sim Yoke LE and Pro Pedals. At times he would use Combat Flight Simulator WW11 Europe Series with a Microsoft Force Feedback 11 Joystick. Larry obtained his pilot's license but let it lapse due to medical problems He very much enjoyed flying on the computer using real weather, etc. He downloaded (what I believe to remember) as a Piper Cherokee plane and enjoyed flying it. He never had any interest in flying the bigger plan…

  19. Hi avsim community I have a question about the PMDG 737NGX fmc. On the departures and Arrivals page for the arrivals how do you choose an ILS or a visual stars and transitions to line up with the runway for the nav performance scale. Also I would like to know how to do an ILS and how do I not get the LNAV and the VNAV to disengage while decent. Thanks

  22. Hello all, My name is Kim. I am training soon at a major US airline for 737-800 captain. The fidelity of the sims here is amazing. I'm wondering if flying the PMDG 737-800 sim would help my training. I would like to message with someone here who lives on the US East coast. My thought is possibly arranging for some sim time. Thanks

Hello I am Dan from Alaska, and I thought I would briefly introduce myself. I am 34 yo and former diesel mechanic now medium duty mechanic with Uhaul Alaska. I grew up around bush planes and fascinated myself reading the tales of the likes of Don Sheldon and Bob Gillam, Wiley Post and others. Pioneer aviation has fascinated me and I always felt I have been a bit of a purist-favoring propeller-driven aircraft. Bush piloting would have been my career but for a few cruel twists of fate and fortune. I will never forget the first time I saw a Rust's Flying Service DHC Beaver landing at Lake Hood when my father came back from a moose trip; I was 3 years old and aviation has de…

Good morning all, Flight Simulation is a new subject to me having spent many years in the Royal Air Force as an aircraft engineer and learnt to fly G.A aircraft in more recent years. Now having to hang up my headphones I managed to get to R.A.F. Cosford for the Flight Sim Fair where I found everyone most chatty, helpful and which I thoroughly enjoyed. There were several groups from around the country present and their interaction was an inspiration. PC Pilot has been a source of information including many product details = confused.com!! So apart from briefly introducing myself I wonder if there is/are any such users or groups in the North Norfolk/East Anglia area ha…

I don't am I at right place to introduce my self, if I made mistake, please mod or admin put the topic in right place. My name is Vedran, I am 28 years old, from Doboj, town in Bosnia. I fly with flight simulators since FS 95, but I was kid than so I didn't know almost anything. My 1st good flights happen with FS2004. Latter with FSX which I'm using now. I fly with freeware planes, because of 3 reasons. 1. My laptop ins't that good so it can't support details and demanding models of payware. I tried, but I get 7-8 fps. 2. I'm don't have time and patience to learn all that rules for payware planes. It is a lot easier to fly with in game GPS. 3. I don't hav…
