PMDG 777

OK you know I was a long user of PMDG for FSX. FSX crashed and just couldn't re-install, so I installed P3D. I bought the PMDG777 for P3D and am having difficulty on the initial install. I got my product key and downloaded it. Where do I find it now? The Operations Center wants me to buy it (but I already did). I know this is very basic, but I am at this 6 hours and driving everyone NUTS. Please help - this was not the way I wanted to spend my day off. Can someone bring me back to Basic 101. I purchased the 777 almost 2 years ago, but recently had to reinstall windows and that messed up my installed programs and now after doing a clean uninstall and reinstall it just installs, there is no option to activate it with my purchased key. I downloaded the base and expansion files from the order page and did it again after finding it wasn't working, just in case it was somehow corrupted. When I go to select the 777 it tells me I need to activate my key first and closes FSX if I click OK. I have installed both the 777 base package and the 300ER expansion. OK, I've got a small problem that seems to be manifesting itself with the 777. I've done some research on this and tried pretty much everything I could find to solve it, but with no luck. Now while this is manifesting itself with the 777, that of course, doesn't necessarily mean it's the 777's fault. I don't have the issue with any of my other aircraft, including the J41 and the NGX. It's not the end of the world if this doesn't get solved, the airplane is still usable, but it would be nice if I could clear this matter up. I intend to make videos for some of my PMDG-777 flights. FSRecorder works,however it does not record the ND and PFD,which is something I require. I was referred to a program called FRaps but it seems not compatible with Windows 10 Are there any other programs to use ? Thank you HubertWerni

Heyo, Many of you are recording videos for YouTube or just recording the flights for fun so you might be able to help me out. I'm trying to figure out the right way of recording for example a landing with PMDG 777 and then recording the landing's multiple views into a videos with FRAPS. I don't really have a problem with FRAPS but how do I record the landing (or the whole flight) itself so I can play it back from multiple angles with all the plane's systems actually working (flaps, spoilers, reverse...) in the playback (also with the original proper sounds - without various warning sounds going crazy, but that's not really important..). So I went to install the 777 but I got the error, Failure to find FSX Retail File Failure, It said to contact PMDG support so here I am. I recently moved the FSX folder somewhere else because I got a new hard drive. Any ideas?

While in flight the speed wants to increase eventually running me into overspeed. The FMC speed is set and the autothrottle is is armed and on. The plane reacts by increasing pitch taking me past the assigned altitude while climbing to FL. Any suggestions? Thanks PS, I am new to the 777 but I have flown other flights and this has not happened. I believe I followed all the correct procedures in setting up the flight.

First, I activate the P3D ATC screen but I cannot hear the voices. I have turned to the ground freq. but again, no voices. I have checked all the sound adjustments within the sim and PMDG but cannot find anything wrong or anything I should be doing specific to 777. Second, I cannot aluminate the lower center panel thus I cannot view checklists etc. I have turned all the knobs for brightness etc with no result. All other panels are functioning. Hello! I got an engine failure these days in which TAC was ON and trimmed accordingly. After landing and maintenance provided the rudder trim never got back to center position after pressing Manual Trim Cancel button. It always remains to the left a few units, and it affects taxi. I tried reseting TAC, even a battery-out, but nothing solved the behavior. What's going on? Thanks!

Hello fellow simmers.... I have ran logs, looked at Linda (too compl for me), and have had sucess on setting APP switch on 777 to fully automate inflight actions, however, while I have flaps, gear and PP woking, I am stumped on setting MCP SPEED value so that on Approach, so x minutes from arrival airport, I can set to me desired landing speed, as just as tutorial states, you need to manually set landing speed on approach and can not rely on LEGS value. This is the value I want to set automatically via lua x number of minutes from airport. Just in the last few hours of an atlantic crossing and I decided to load the Descent Forecast (flightplan from PFPX and weather from ASN). After I did this all of the computed altitudes were blanked out and in the progress page the ETA and Fuel values were flashing. I could never get them back and ended up manually working out my descent and using V/S. Just wondering if this is normal behavior or some issue with my sim. thanks.

Hello fellow captains, I was reading through the FCOM and saw a line that said "make sure nosewheel steering locked out". I used to taxi with my rudder pedals and thought the nosewheel can also be controlled by the pedals. A bit of reading on the subject told me that the rudders only move the nosewheel left and right 7 degrees. So, I went into FSUIPC and mapped a tiller axis. The problem was that with the tiller axis, nothing happens when I move my rudder, whereas in real life the pilots can test the rudders with the pedals and hold the nosewheel straight. Is there a way to do that? Like how Majestic's Dash 8 does it.

Hello, I am a long experienced flightsimmer and have purchased the PMDG 777-200 last weekend. This is a great plane but I have one big problem: Whenever I load a situation (for example a landing approach), all displays are dark und i can't click any switches (they just don't react to my clicks and the mouse cursor does not change when over switches). So it's like "Cold and Dark Cockpit". I have to restart FSX:SE in order to be able to load the situation correctly. Does anyone have an idea? Dear PMDG, I will of course log a ticket but just wanted to give an observation that has happened to me at least four times and is reproducible. My issue firstly is that flying the PMDG 777.300ER variant (last time in American livery) from Aerosoft EGLL to Flightbeam KSFO in Prepar3d V3.4 with latest hotfix the sim crashes normally after about 5 hours, its NOT VAS nothing to do with OOM but just keeps crashing I cannot complete a flight on this route. I CAN however complete the route no problem in the PMDG 777-200LR (any livery). The other thing to note is that if I reverse the route the PMDG 77-300ER makes it without crashing which is a bit odd considering how VAS he…

It only occurs in the -300 version, with any livery. FSX-SE, DX10 disabled. Re-downloaded the installer and still the same error. I can't figure out what may be causing this.

This is interesting. Taking off from EDDF rwy 18 with a right turn to NTM destination EGLL. LNAV and VNAV engaged. Weight 543.0lbs, Climb 1 is 85% N1. Flaps are retracted after a normal clean up. Acceleration and Climb stops at Zero Flap Maneuvering Speed which is 225 Kts. at 3600'. I think that the aircraft thinks that the flaps aren't up, but they are (visual inspection and indication). The FMC is calling for VNAV to climb at 250Kts. In real life it would continue climbing even if flaps weren't fully retracted, but it would not accelerate above that flap setting maneuvering speed I believe. ANY IDEAS? Thanks, Bruce Jacobs

In my constant drive to reduce OOM, I've seen a post that making a slight modification to the model.cfg file (//) will remove the external model which is helping heaps. But is there a way to reconfigure it to show only the wings and engines? - its good to occasionally pop into the passenger side to see yourself land

(I don't see a topic covering this - though I wish the SEARCH worked better) On the PMDG 777, I noticed the wind indicator sometimes is there and sometimes it is not. I fly with ACN and have live weather set asa default. In FSX I select weather option to ACN (if that matters) Where does the wind indicator get tots data from? Why the intermittent showing? Running through Tutorial 1.5, I set the load to empty and then try to set the fuel to '24689' as instructed. I put the figure into the scratch pad but when I then click on Fuel, all that happens is that the scratch pad empties. The amount of fuel I have chosen is not entered into Fuel. I've tried this several times, starting with the 777 cold & dark on Taxiway Z1. I've closed and reopened the 777, closed and reopened P3D, rebooted the computer and 'Repaired' the 777 installation. All to no avail. I don't remember this ever happening the previous times I ran Tutorial 1.5... Anyone seen this before? Any clues as to what is causing this? Associated with …

In flight, experiencing numerous equipment cooling system overrides. I find myself constantly resetting the override. This is disrupting flights with engine shutdowns in flight. Generators also momentarily shut off and then turn back on. Something is causing this to occur as often as it does and I am obviously overlooking something. How is this corrected? Thanks.

Hey everybody, I've been having some issues recently with the PMDG 777 on loading the game. The aircraft will count down to two on the initializing systems message and then I get this error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. The game proceeds to close when I hit ok. This doesn't happen with any other aircraft so I'm a little confused.
