Dear beta testers, I was wondering if any of you are using autosave from Pete Dowson? By adding the following lines: (from thread: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/69068-tip-autosave-and-the-pmdg-ngx/) ... the 737 would beautifully resume (state loaded, flight plan loaded as it was, etc...) where it was left off if FSX crashed or if one decided to return to an auto-saved flight. I was wondering if it still works in regards to the 777 of PMDG. Thanks for all and any input, Joe

I have studied the numerous cockpit videos from justplanes and also the Pilotseye series. What is the constant reference to FLT DIR during the take off phase referring to? Is this connected to fly-by-wire or is it something less extraordinary like we are used to from Boeing? Many thanks!

Hi, I'm just wondering if any of the beta testers here can express their experiences with how PMDG is simulating fly-by-wire logic in the flight control system of the 777. I'm sure PMDG did a wonderful job from the descriptions posted on here so far, so I'm mostly inquiring from the perspective of "it would be cool to know". With their F-18E Superbug product for Flight Simulator X, VRS Simulations has a very unique method of passing simulator FBW flight control logic processing to a completely separate module outside of FSX, then 'piping' the processed flight control data back into Flight Simulator. Again, I'm sure PMDG did and outstanding job…

Hey All, I remember reading a post many moons ago that there was something revolutionary put into the 777 that has never been done before in Flight Simulator. Either I've missed where it was said what this thing was or it hasn't been said. I'm fairly interested in what it might be to be honest. Or will it be a Pogo Stick type thing? Thanks!

I am googling payware/freeware scenery for KPAE with NEGRES for FSX. Is there any good scenery with aircraft being constructed on Boeing's ramps and A/C sitting on RW 29? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

For making an exceptional aircraft. From the Beta pictures and videos it looks like the Beta testing period will be a very short and hassle free one. Waiting for this bird is even more bearable now, because I, and I'm sure many fellow simmers, will know that when we pay for this aircraft, we're getting an ultra realistic simulation. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind paying 165 million . To the Beta Testers, thank you for sacrificing your time to do tedious work on testing the aircraft and pushing it to its limits. I know Beta testing isn't just fun and games and it can get quite tiring and repetitive.

I know you all are itching to get up close and personal w/ the 777. It will be worth the wait... but here's something to serve as a bit of a respite. Imagine yourself part of the crew of a corporate PMDG 777LR. We have been lucky enough to use Stand F90, as the BA arrival is still hours away. You leave the flight deck and the stairs await.... You begin at the left forward fuselage, checking for probes, drains, vents, panel doors, O2 disc and fwd outflow You move to check the Radome, diverter strips and forward access door It's off to the nosewheel where you inspect the wheels and tires, gear strut and doors, NWS assemblies, gear pin, towing lever and pin, …

Hi all- So today I put together a nice Autoland video for you all. Including the control check prior to departure and flap retractment showing off some of the exterior sounds. Please note I'm running on a Laptop and NOT a big desktop - so excuse the video for not being a silky Froogle video

  18. A careful look at this photo will reveal something heretofore unthinkable in my simming- 4x Speed- we will talk about the POS REP Page later. The world usually seems to get in the way most days, and I am not able to devote 12-14 hours to flight sim. Flying the NGX, I found bliss in the 1-3 hour Ryanair flight schedule. Several times a week, I could be found winging my way around Europe on Vatsim. I fell into a happy routine that seemed to fit my life. Chores had to be done, but fantastical flight was shoehorned in as well- Nirvana! The 777 Beta brought all the trepidation that comes with a new type rating, as well as the concern that I would not be able to truly fly t…

  19. Since the PMDG 777 Beta Test Program started yesterday, there have varied methodologies employed to share the excitement and astounding development with you. I have long subscribed to word-smithing, so I shall leave the videos and technical explanations to others, far better qualified than I. Instead, I want to share my visceral thoughts about the platform, albeit from a more ethereal plain (pun intended). I loaded her up at Gatwick, on Stand 157. A few years ago I deplaned from a BAW 777 (albeit not a 777F) in close to that exact spot, and so Gatwick holds a certain charm for me. Initial impressions can be very telling, and the moment the VC spread itself out in …

This was requested a while back, and I was surprised to find it when I looked around the external just now. So, what's the feature? EDIT: Disregard the color issues and banding (particularly on the wing to the right of the image). I ran the image through photoshop to downsize it and convert it to JPEG because BMPs are apparently not allowed here (which is reasonable).

I know people enjoyed the option in the NGX that allowed you to modify your colors. PMDG have taken that to the next level in the 777. They've added what is basically a color picker into the PMDG Setup menu that you can access via the CDU. PMDG Setup > Options > Colors. You can change 47 different things, anything from the CDU colors, to the PDF colors, to the MCP colors, to the flood lighting. Here's a shot of the first page of options, how you change the colors once you've hit the LSK next to what you want to change, followed by my quick jump into making a cockpit so ugly even my mom would scream.
