Hey! So, I was watching some videos from the newest PMDG 777, and I noticed the 2d FMC still opens out of correct proportions when you're using a WideScreen monitor. I don't think there's much people left that still uses an old 4:3 CRT monitor, so I wonder why can't we get proper WideScreen 2D panels with these newest products? The same holds true to the 737NGX, every time we open a 2D screen we have to change it's format to make it look OK, or we get oval buttons, instead of round ones. It's such a small thing, but it would be nice to have it default to Widescreen, and not an old Ratio that nobody uses anymore. Maybe it's a FSX limitation? Thanks!

Have any of the PMDG 777 beta testers tried FSFK with the new jet? I am trying to determine if I should buy and learn it before the release.

So a cargo plane flies all night to a destination gets there at, say 5am, the schedule has that plane not leaving till 8pm, would the aircraft be set to clod and dark? If so would a maintenance crew come in and warm up the A/C before its next flight? Lets say the Pilot reports an issue and the maintenance crew finishes correcting it would they leave the aircraft warm or shut it back down to cold and dark? Thanks in advance.

This is directed more towards beta testers at PMDG, but if anyone can attest to the following question feel free to interject. What weather engine(s) does PMDG use, and what weather engines have been tested with the 777? I am becoming frustrated with using REX Essentials Plus; I gave it another chance after the developers updated the altimeter bug. However, I still see screen flashes, wind shifts, and honestly a complete lack of smooth frontal and general weather transitions. With the REX Wx engine, the only weather changes are instantaneous upon loading of new weather data, which is highly unrealistic. I am split, however, between purchasing ASE 2012 or Opus. I have seen…

Hi, would someone be so kind and explain how exactly the off path descent and the energy management circles work? I am reading about it but can't quite figure out how exactly the circles can help the pilot. I understand that the outer circle is where the descent ends in clean config and the inner circle is where the descent ends with speed brake, but why is it a circle, what happens if you make a 180 degree turn to the opposite end of the circle while descending ? And why does it have to be referenced to a waypoint and not the aircraft current location? If someone could explain how it works and how to use it I would appreciate it a lot, maybe even in a video if you have t…

Hi all, Since beta went live I have been cris-crossing skies in the 777, putting some hours on the bird and doing what beta folk do, try to break stuff! So far, I've failed. I can honestly say that the airplane is in tip top shape, really well polished, and a tribute to Rob and the team. What little remains to be tidied up is really fairly minor, and will simply go towards making the final product a must-have. PMDG face an undeniable challenge in that their last offering - the NGX - is still a much beloved add-on and could hardly be accused of showing her age. So how do you improve on perfection? Well, you're going to hate me for this vague answer: It'…

I watched a doc on the making of the 777. It was very detailed. For instance, they spent a good 20-30 minutes on the door design and problems they faced with it. My question is why did they decide to make the doors "Airbus" style on the 777? When did this change? Was the 777 the first Boeing plane with doors that opened like sliding glass doors? I know the 767 slides up, the 737 opens like a clam as well as the 747. I guess it all comes down to how the airplane was designed and that's that. Anybody with the correct answer? 787 777 747 737 767

I was spending the morning testing RTOs and the AT logic when something happened that I had to share. To check certain paramaters of the AT logic, I wanted to be very light so I just loaded up a small fuel load and an EMPTY ZFW. That left me at a GW of 168.6- hardly a strain for two GE 90-110s. It was a nice morning, Wind 290 @ 11, Vis 10+ miles, No Precip, Scatttered Clouds and Temp/DP 19/7 with a pressure of 1016mb. The incredible thing is that while I sit and work out performance figures, I am immersed in a cocoon of sound that transports me from the mundane study where I "fly" into the left seat of a 777F, sitting on Cargo Stand 12, Apron A at EGSS. Working…

Would someone mind making a video showing the different equipment options being selected? for example switching between Analog and ISFD standby altimeters, etc. I remember PMDG made one for the NGX that showed a bunch of the different features being selected such as the eyebrow windows, standby altimeter, etc. I just think the one for the 777X would be great! Thanks

Does anyone else think this forum needs more moderation? There are trolls posting about weather radars. Demands for a release date. Questions posed that have been answered dozens of times already. Double and triple posts. Some ad hominem attacks. It's typical that forum quality degrades closer to release, but I feel like we would all benefit if PMDG appointed a volunteer moderator, maybe a beta tester, to clean this place up.

Don't know if I'm allowed or meant to ask this, but how is the beta going? How many problems and bugs have been found etc? If I'm not meant to post this I'm sorry, but I just thought it would be interesting to see how the beta is shaping up, the shots and videos have been amazing though

Hello! I´m so happy that i can fly the awesome PMDG 777-200LR soon. My dream is to flying from Cologne-Bonn (EDDK) to Brisbane international Airport in australia NON-STOP (about 16167 KM) ! Is it possible to fly this route with about 301 passengers and headwind? Theoretical, i could fly a range of about 17400 KM with full Pax and cargo, right?

hello Does the PMDG 777 have RAAS? I saw videos on youtube that Emirates, Turkish, Egyptair have RAAS installed. I think FedEx, Aerologic hav them too. I mention only the 777 customers. If it is not in the PMDG 777, will it come as an future update?
