So was bored and just checking out the latest FCOM bulletins issued by Boeing in regards to the T7. Subject: Control Panel (MCP) Altitude Window Changing Without Pilot Action Reason: To inform flight crews that the altitude in the MCP altitude window may change indication without pilot action. Background Info: An operator has experiencedmultiple occurrences of the MCP altitude window indication changing by 1000, 1500, 2000, and 4000 foot increments during climb, cruise, and descent. These changes occured without flight crew input to the MCP. So will PMDG put Casper the ghost in my avionics bay and make my MCP change altitude at random times...Please don't, …

Hello! Now I know this may sound stupid and all, :( , and I know most of you will be like "Oh he's dreamin"; But, this is my first post at Avsim, and I just heard PMDG was starting the universal beta testing, and I would first like to say that PMDG is my favorite company in the whole wide world! I have bought every product since the old days. I absolutely love the PMDG 737NGX, and got it as soon as it came out! I love PMDG because the company has the most unique quality of any company. No matter how many people bash you guys, or bash on how long the airplane is taking, you guys just keep on going. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" lol. Anyways, most other …

Alright, now I know this topic has been beaten to death, and I want to make it clear I'm NOT requesting for PMDG to add an EFB to the 777. It was my understanding though that PMDG was not incorporating an EFB into the 777 due to the ridiculous cost of data for it, which is completely understandable; however, I just noticed a comment from PMDG on their Facebook page on the post about the update on August 2nd that confirms they have simulated the EFB 100%. I just wanted to ask if that was true or if maybe they meant that the ECL was 100% simulated. The comment is still on their Facebook page and you can see a screenshot of it below. Note that I did block out the person's na…

Will this bird be accessible to all? I mean like I wouldn't have to be able to recite the entire manual off the top of my head to do a flight? I'm not expecting it to be a walk in the park I know but I hope it will not be for hardcore professionals only?

Hello. Just wanted to know if some of the team or the beta testers did took it on Windows 8. I doubt there will be problems actually the NGX works fine for me. I guess the 777 will probably wnot have trouble with it but just being curious. I've switched to windows 8 a couple of months ago. I've not had any kind of "joystick stopping responding" which I had seen talked about, ut most importantly it allows me to finally take advantage of FS2Crew Voice Edition, which I could not use before. On that Windows 8 is a great step forward for me. Sure there were the vistalizator stuff and all, but did not really like it, and you can't keep windows updated if you do that on…

I'm reading manuals for the 777 and when I finished with Autopilot section from SmartCockpit I realized that I haven't seen an indication that would show wich autopilot is the master (737 has a green MA light above left or right F/D, depending on which side is the master). Looking at the AFDS schematics made me realize that the 777 has three independent autopilots, all simultaniously activated by EITHER A/P button. Nice feature, all 3 active all the time but that made me thinking. If there is no indication which side is master, then how does the aircraft know which VOR to follow? If I decided that I wanted to fly a certain radial, how do I do that? 737 is simple, just hit…

One of my favorite 737 preview threads was one where Robert wrote about several examples of quirks of the 737. Things most of us wouldn't even notice if we didn't fly or maintain the plane. I'm wondering if anyone from the team can share things like that about the 777? Things like how the temperature of the cabin will change if the doors are open, brake temp disapation etc. Screenshots are great, but they only show off the eye candy. I'd love to hear more about the systems and immersion of the sim. I'll admit I was never really excited about the 777 and was really looking forward to the DC6. Maybe you guys can change that?

They BETTER have these important ones... (BE ADVISED: The LINE above is just a JOKE and not meant to be taken too serious. The photos are not LR-200s.) I actually really like this one below. Why have I never flown with Air New Zealand?

For Alex since I know he's been wanting to see this for ages! Unfortunately Luke here saved the LR as an .ITT file - I call it too much 777 flying, others call it not paying attention  If one of the other guys doesn't, I'll upload the LR version later tomorrow. For now, enjoy:

Hi simmers! Will it be an opportunity to walk around the cabin or is it juts the box where it says PMDG when you walk outside of the cockpit? Ex... Here is the cabin in the 777 freighter...

In all of the great takeoff videos posted by the beta testers, the wind speed and direction gets displayed on the ND during the takeoff roll at around 90 kts with all wheels still on the ground. The displayed direction at this time has both a head/tail wind component as well as a crosswind component. This remains mostly unchanged as the aircraft takes to the air. In similar real world videos, if the wind speed and direction is displayed during the takeoff roll with all wheels still on the ground, it only has a tail/head wind component. The crosswind component is only displayed once the aircraft takes to the air. In my layman's opinion, this does make sense, as on …
