PMDG 777

Hello folks I was wondering, is there a way to get the smoke effect on touchdown when the rear wheels of the maingear touch down not when the hole gear is on the ground, to inspect the shooth landing from the outside view. I know for some people this isnt even a problem but... Can pmdg correct for the first service please. It is not looking cool on landing... Here is an example from the real one... Thanks

We all know the NGX and its real-world counterpart have got trimming sound. But why doesn't the PMDG 777 have it? As far as I've seen real 777s do have it. It sounds a bit like hydraulics, and the 747 has it as well and IMO it sounds very very cool and it's pity that we don't have it. For your interest, you can hear the sound at 0:56 and at 3:02. At 3:41 I'm not sure where that's the trim or the spoilers. Anyway, is this sound from the trim? If so, why wasn't it implemented?

Hi guys. How do I set my Transition Altitude for T/O. I fly out of EGKK so in my aircraft I have it set for 6000ft as default in the options. Now I want to do a flight from the USA back to EGKK and I want to set it to 18000ft for T/O but just can't see where to set it in the FMC. Do I have to change it each time in the Aircraft options in the FMC?

Is the communications in MFD active in the PMDG 777? I find that accept, cancel & reject switches can be pushed. If so, could any one give me an example please how to use communication via MFD?

Hi all I've been trying to complete the above route in the T7. I have used a saved flight as I don't have the time to do a real time one. On Two occasions the flight has failed to follow the fms programed Plan (egll to cyvr direct). I use auto compression of time with lnav and vnsv armed In the first instance I found the plane skimming along the ground With the gear extended automatically somewhere in North America. On the other the plane failed to turn South towards cyvr and continued Straight across North america and started making slow s shaped turns On the way. Also the nav display showed cyvr in the centre rather than the plane At the end of the Magenta…

  8. Hi, I am using FSInn and tuning to the frequency using the command line: .com1 freq, or ..com2 freq 1- comm radios are not switching to the frequency (not updating on the radios) that i entered above, they remain the same displaying another frequency but i can hear the ATC and talk to them without any problem. (is this a bug ?) which means that they i am really getting over these frequencies although the radios stay unchanged 2- when I tune manually thought the plane com i can also hear them 3- vatSim controllers can hear me even if the mic is switched to off position radio and mic in my radio panel are not working as supposed your help is really appr…

Hello PMDG team, I have seen all PMDG 777 Beta test videos and I have noticed that the smart altitude callouts sound strange. The quality is very different compared to the 737. I could hear that with the callout Plus hundred, 400,300 . It sounds like these callouts were adapted from the 737NGX and the rest are from other recordings. The callout 400,300 sound like they were recorded from MD80. You have know that in reality there are different callout recordings of the GPWS sounds...with the same voice! You can here differences in the DASH8-400, 777, MD80. They use the same voice but the announcements are different. Not much but a trained ear can notice …

  10. Hi folks, which airlines purchased the 777-200LR with 1, which with 3 aux tanks? After having flown CYVR-ACA33-YSSY and back YSSY-ACA34-CYVR I haven't had the impression that it is needed at all. Ok winds were not that strong on both legs, but even the centre tanks was not really full. Thanx in advance!

Hi Out of interest I took a look at the notices/certificates fixed to the rear of the 777 cockpit and was surprised that I could actually read them and even more surprised to see typed on one what appears to be PMDG's postal address.

  13. Hi all, After a feast of uneventfull flights, I decided to turn south in a mega ETOPS flight. Yesterday I started in Copenhagen heading for Rio de Janeiro. The Boeing 777 is a real work horse. I am now heading from SBGL to YSSY. A 9000nm flight. A true test of range and ETOPS. Here we are, a little over 6 hours into the flight and a mystical magenta path in on the TERR display. This is very near to the Date line. Has anyone else noticed this problem. ...And in 12 hours time I shall fly straight back to Copenhagen from Sydney, thus circumventing the globe with only 2 fuel stops

Hi gents, Right so I have logged quite a few long hauls in the T7 since release date, but have never really had any bad weather approaches, until about 15 minutes ago! I was approaching VHHH which showed weather with winds 220 @ 27 knots, medium precipitation (read rain), and visibility down to 3200 meters. Now, I am still getting to grips with the flaring and landing techniques with the 777, so I figured this would be the perfect time to test out the auto land on this aircraft. When I approached the runway the winds had shifted to 0 degrees at 32 knots, but I saw this too late, which meant that the winds were hitting me on the right hand side of the fusela…

Any tips for someone who is struggling to get a hang of the FBW system? Should I leave auto throttle engaged at all times? I'm used to turning AP/AT off and using the FD. But really struggling on approach and landing. The airplane really wants to change pitch quickly after every little adjustment I make to pitch, trim, or throttle.

So the LOC button is no longer used to intercept a VOR course. Apparently LNAV is used for this now, only I can't make it work. I see two scenarios; The FMC has a programed route, and as I approach the VOR course - assuming the NAV/RAD page has the correct tuning - LNAV is supposed to "catch" and track the VOR course? Hasn't happened to me as of yet... The FMC does not have a programed route. If I try to arm LNAV to intercept the VOR at this point the FMC responds with "No active route". How do I intercept the VOR in such a situation?

  19. sorry for my pooer English. When landing, After main gears contact ground, and just before nose wheel contacts ground, my FSX is freezed around 1 second. (or 0.5 ~ 1 second) After the freeze, nose wheel contacts ground and FSX plays the squeal effect sound of PMDG. This appears only first landing after running FSX. second, third landings don't appear. Anyone have same issue? I guess, the squeal effect sound is the reason. When nose wheel contact, FSX loads the sound file, and freezed temporarily. Maybe the sound file is too big or not loaded up on PC memory before... ETC.. Anyone have same issue? See my movie. Freezed a…

Has there been any thought given to additional 2D pop up panels in future service packs? I'm thinking maybe the overhead and the throttle area? The current ones are just fine, but those two areas are used frequently and having to go through 2 or 3 other areas to get to them is a bit of a pain. Not earthshaking, just a little inconvenient. Hi Guys, On a couple of flights now I have noticed that on the PROG page of the FMC the right hand side line 4 entry is referring to step climb - none as opposed to top of descent and then the distance. FCOM 2 page 11.42.46 mentions this and the conditions that create it but not how to revert it back to T/D. Has anyone else come across this and got it to show T/D ? The situation I have is that the cruise altitude is FL390, STEP TO is FL410 but not available, OPT FL390 and MAX FL399. I've tried changing and deleting the STEP TO FL410 but nothing alters. Thanks and Regards Simon

Hi, I have a small problem with my 777, when I save a flight after landing and load it up again ADIRU is not aligned and my FSX seemed to crashed few times shortly after loading up saved flight. This only happens while the aircraft stands on the ground, in flight the problem seems to not exist. Any ideas? Thanks, Adam
