Never straight forward this hobby. I have needed to completely remove FSX and all addons today after making a mess of it last night when playing around with Squawk Box and FSInn. The first installation I did when I had removed FSX and all addons and traces from my machine was to install the 777. And have run straight into a wall with it. I have had it installed on my previous installation without any trouble but today no such luck. The product seems to install okay however, When I select the aircraft in FSX it asks me to verify PMDG_777X_3.DLL. I click Run and then....Nothing. FSX hangs. The aircraft does not appear in the window and the interface becomes …

Honestly I have been almost exclusively flying the NGX since its release. Most other aircraft just didn't cut it anymore because PMDG raised the bar so high. I have done the odd flight with the Queen or the VRS FA-18E. As the T7 release day approaches I am beginning to worry that the HGS has spoiled me. All my landings are done with the HGS and now I am beginning to worry that my landings are going to need a lot of practice. LOL. The problems of the simmer, heh. Anyway what are your thoughts? Are you worried that your flying skills have degraded because of the HGS?

As per the topic, with FTX Global, FTX England, FTX Wales, FTX Scotland, UK2000 EGLL/EGSS/EGKK/EGBB/EGSS, REX clouds LOD_RADIUS 4.50000 and TML = 2048. Is anyone able to fly into EGLL or EGKK with the 777 without getting an OOM error? I tried several times, coming from EDFH, LEPA, LPPT, LIMC and i am never able to land. As soon as i have the airport in sight, OOM. I disabled (unistalled) FTX England, Wales and Scotland and i can finally, barely, make it there. I guess there's no solution for this eh?

Hello there, I was reviewing the 777F aircraft.cfg file a few minutes ago and noticed this line: [Flaps.0] type=1 W// ** FLAPS ** Isn't the "W" before the commenting "//" causing any weird behavior in the sim, or is FSX internal cfg parser trimming anything beyond the possible 1 or 0 value in that field? Just in case, the W isn't there in either the pax 777 or in any of the NGX flaps section (and I don't have FSX SDK installed to verify if there is a valid 1W option for flaps ) Thanks! regards -E ps: I haven't modified any of these files either manually or using a 3rd party proggie... it's the vanilla aircraft.cfg (dist…

After reading through some of the documentation regarding failures I was under the impression that you could turn on 'All System Failures' and then de-activate failures for specific sub-systems. Effectively, turning on 'All System Failures' but then turning off 'Engine' system failures, for example. Alternatively, and taking another approach to try to accomplish my goal, I tried leaving off 'All System Failures' and then turning on failures for individual systems. However, in both approaches, 'Service-Based Failures On/Off' is greyed out when either 1) turning on 'All System Failures' and then going into the sub-system to de-activate specific systems, or 2) keeping 'Al…

I know this has been highlighted already that the predicted fuel figure in the fmc tends to drop significantly as soon as one or both engines are started. i don't know if I need to ticket this or if its already been done but in addition to this initial drop I am finding that the predicted amount also slowly creeps down through out a long haul flight. and this happens in every flight ive done. the initial amount slowly drops. almost as if it over estimated to begin with . the initial figure seems to be fairly accurate until the winds are added then it gives a few thousand higher figure always then I land with as if the fmc is underestimating the fuel burn per ho…

Greetings all, The other day I did a flight from EGLL-KBOS. The filed route (per PFPX) was CPT3G CPT UL9 GAVGO UL18 DIKAS UL9 SLANY GISTI MALOT 5330N 5240N 5050N YQX, etc.... When I loaded the flight plan into the FMC, the route page showed the following: DCT CPT UL9 GAVGO UL18 DIKAS …

Hi, I had my first ever crash today descending to an overcast Glasgow for an ILS23 aproach at 2900 feet when traffic was in deadly conflict and i was hearing descend descend and then i crashed in to an hill when the autopilot disconnected by my move forward of the yoke. So does this TA/RA not take Terrain into considuration or is it just a "not simulated" event in FSX ? Because of the overcast i was not aware of the hills but i believe they were in the green area at the time being in the TERRAIN mode. ORBX Scotland and UK2000 EGPF Ooops  Michael moe

Hi all, After a feast of uneventfull flights, I decided to turn south in a mega ETOPS flight. Yesterday I started in Copenhagen heading for Rio de Janeiro. The Boeing 777 is a real work horse. I am now heading from SBGL to YSSY. A 9000nm flight. A true test of range and ETOPS. Here we are, a little over 6 hours into the flight and a mystical magenta path in on the TERR display. This is very near to the Date line. Has anyone else noticed this problem. ...And in 12 hours time I shall fly straight back to Copenhagen from Sydney, thus circumventing the globe with only 2 fuel stops

I only noticed this today. It's part of the aileron. In this pic, I have full left deflection to show that when the aileron goes up, this part of it comes down under the wing. I know it's not a bug or anything like that, but I am curios to know what it's purpose is in being there.

Not sure if this is really the correct forum section to post this but I've only seen it on the T7 so far I have recently done a few flights out of EGKK and have chosen a big7m departure, once this is installed into the fmc and activated when you look at the fp at big7m instead of a smooth turn onto my first waypoint it basically comes straight back on itself (v shaped ) to the first waypoint is this correct as I've never seen this before on real world sid/star plates out of EGKK? Also I use Aivlasoft efb and this shows the big7m as a smooth left based turn onto the first way point but the T7 although it can't achieve the Vshaped route will turn onto a route towards the …

Hi I love the autocruise and auto time compression features. Very innovative. However, I am coming across with procedural problem if I want to use these features with Radar Contact. If I am flying with Radar Contact ATC, leave the radio to the copilot and autocruise with copilot, I don't think I can depend on copilot to request for flight level change at point of step climb. That would mean I would still have to come back to my PC, switch off the auto time compression, request for flight change and then do the step climb. This would defeat the purpose of auto climb. Has anyone come across with this scenario for those who are flying with the ATC? How did you m…

Hello, the cost index in the B738 runs from 0 to 500 while the cost index on the 777 has the range 0 to 999. So to calculate a good cost index in the 777 I just need to double the 737 cost index to get a usable 777 cost index, right? ... I thought not, but any good reads on the subject? - Andrew Wold

Hi. Im pretty sure that there is something wrong with my 777 as I have asked others and they seem not do report the issue. Some surfaces get very weird when flood light is applied. Help/advice very much appreciated. I am unable to select terminal area intersections in the T7, either as a fix or as a direct to waypoint. For example, at Porto (LPPR) I can not select "PRXXX" ( like PR634 or PR633) in the FMC (unless they are present in the installed STAR) like in the 737NGX. I know that the FMCs from these two birds are different, so I wonder if this is correct and, if so, how should I proceed if the approach controller asks me to "fly direct PR634"?

Dear PMDG, I really like the auto time compression feature. I don't know if this is possible or whether there would be demand for it, but would it be possible to have the sim play a "ding-dong" (like the "Cabin Ready" one) when within about 10 NM of a waypoint? The reason I ask is because I like to log fuel and time over each waypoint on my simbrief plan. However, on 5+ hour flights, I just have to use time compression. My current work around is to set a timer on my phone for the time until my next waypoint divided by the time compression value. However, this isn't exactly accurate since the sim may slow compression for wind shifts, temp changes, turbulence, etc. …

This piece of amazing wizardry is hard to see quickly because of its lower EICAS location. Is there a pre-set way to bring this into useable view? Didn't see in Tutorial #1 if there is. Thanks!

Has there been any thought given to additional 2D pop up panels in future service packs? I'm thinking maybe the overhead and the throttle area? The current ones are just fine, but those two areas are used frequently and having to go through 2 or 3 other areas to get to them is a bit of a pain. Not earthshaking, just a little inconvenient. Jack Fentress Sorry for the triple. An accident. Jack Fentress

Unbelievably nice work and I've had 4 really nice flights with the T7, but now, since dabbling in the electronic checklists my mouse no longer interacts w/ ANY switches anywhere in the VC. I can still click on default ATC window, but everything in the T7 behaves as it it can't interact w/ the mouse pointer. I search back many pages and didn't really notice anyone else w/ the issue. The plane performs very well on my rig too. If I don't hear back here by tomorrow I guess I better submit a ticket. It's a real bummer--go thru the entire set up ready to pushback and the blithering click spots have all went to sleep!

Adde…

Dear Captains, Yesterday was a single most disastrous flight I had for a very long time. So many problems that I eventually just gave up mid flight. So I hope if anyone has some hints as to how they went wrong to please advice me, as the problems are still here. I shall now give a description and highlight the events that went wrong. Background/Preflight So now I decided to fly with a VA, I am positioned at LFPG and hoping to fly back to ZGGG to report for duty. So I looked up a flight on flightaware, took out my PFPX and did some flight planning to give me some figures. I initially set some passengers and payload on PFPX for calcs, but when I insert the …
