PMDG 777

    in the landing phase we can choose between QNH and QFE ok so QNH stands for barometric pressure as reported by a particular station (local altimeter setting) and QFE Altimeter setting referenced to airport field elevation (where field elevation equals zero feet) but when should i use QNH and when QFE and what does it depends on ? normally which one is used and is it related to approach charts .... ? thank you

Set up for the ILS with the A/P flying and got LAND 3 annunciated in green. At 1,000 ft AGL, disconnected the A/P and hand flew the rest of the approach to touchdown.   3. I have just finished a real time circumnavigation of the earth via both poles - all done in 1 fsx session. The trip took 2 days in real time - no accelerated flight at all. route was KJFK - SACO then via south pole to KPPH then onto ZMUB then via North Pole back to KJFK The 777 was refueled in real time also. I flew within 40 nm of both poles in LNAV without any problems. The whole trip was done in 1 fsx session without any problems at all - no crashes, OOMs or anything else.     hi, i was messing about with the options in the Fictional UAL livery, and in the Aircraft Equipment Page 3/9, FMS, i changed the DEFAULT RED ALT/FLAPS, which was set to FLAPS 1 to 1500ft, now i want it back at FLAPS 1, what should i enter?

    Is there anyway I can manual overide the A/T In regards to when I move the throttle on my joystick the AT disconnects and gives me control of the thrust. Its Handy on Approach to move the hardware throttle without having to invidually click on the A/T buttons on the glare shield. Tried the settings in Simulation and IN HOLD MODE ONLY doesnt work always ATspeed commanded on the MCP -, ALWAYS seems to never Engage the AT at all. and NEVER well I know that wont work....any Ideas ??

    Is there a way of making the cold and dark state the default so that the aircraft will load in that state. Currently the engines are running and I have to select cold and dark each time.

    Since we can connect PFPX directly to active Sky, it would be a really nice feature from them to add the export weather from PFPX directly to the WX folder using the weather format from Active Sky. and to be updated also accordingly during the flight if changes occur

    it would be great if PMDG could just fix a little bit the baro and qnh knob, since we have to really zoom in order to change the value. otherwise instead of changing the values in the QNH its going from mb to hpa to and BARO from RADIO TO BARO

    Hey guys, Really quickly here, I have a problem hand flying the 777. The aircraft is reluctant to accept inputs from my yoke. While hand flying, the aircraft will oscillate between accepting my control inputs and ignoring them. For instance, on final, if I want to raise the nose 5 degrees, I'll pull back on my yoke but nothing will happen - the aircraft will refuse to pitch up. After holding near full up deflection the aircraft will "jolt" its pitch up with full elevator deflection. The same occurs if I want to lower the nose, or really use any input. It's as if the "dead zone" on my yoke is set to 50%. Here's why I'm not recalibrating my joystick and deleting FSU…

    Hi, I have issues with my throttletek during Takeoff ,TO/GA , FLCH where the throttle has its own life making it not so much fun to use. I have no issues with the NGX and only use FSX internal controls for calibrating and assigning the axis. When using FSUIPC for calibrating the axis i get CTD when i use the NGX and it still does not perform well in the T7. I know there is some forums on setting it up in FSUIPC to overcome these issues and i have taken that part about calibrating the axis in there. Plug and pray ? :-) Btw. Is it correct (normal) that A/T can re-engage itself during Approach? (I have not read the FCOM yet ,sorry) Michael Moe

    Hi, Can't get the A/P to turn off except with the Disengage bar, and then can't silence the alarm. Have tried using Z on the keyboard, assigning a button in FSUIPC to Z, Mouse macro, and A/P off in FSUIPC. ANy help appreciated. Thanks Rob

    I was climbing through a cloud layer the other day. TAT was something around 0-4C. I didn't pay too much attention to it because 1: the 777 has auto anti ice and 2: there's no such thing as ice in FSX anyway! Normally, in the NGX, I'd just roll my eyes at FSX's weather and "turn on" anti ice anyway because I'm supposed to. Then, after just spending a few seconds in the cloud layers, to my surprise, the EICAS now indicates "EAI". WHAT?! And as I leave the cloud layer, "EAI" is turned off automatically. WOW! I can hardly believe what I just saw. The same thing happened when I was descending through another cloud layer, and the TAT was just right for icing. "EAI" cam…

    When trying to import the route in FMC by selecting route request, the route won't load into the fmc. Routes are compiled with the PFPX v 1.08 and have .rte extension. Did anyone experience the same problem? Also when tryin to enter company route I get invalid entry notification.

    I'm a little puzzled on the VAS usage of the 777, I'm staying just below OOM 4GB but it's very close and if the weather gets rough I'll OOM. I'm not complaining at all because I know how to make adjustments and stay below OOM. But I am a little confused on the VAS usage, PMDG suggested around 700MB-800MB, but so far I'm at 1 GB to 1.1GB. If I load up the default C172, I've got 1,486,408 free. If I load up the PMDG 777 and wait a minute or so, I get 479,806 free. I usually cycle the 4 standard views and do a 360 in the views to make sure I'm getting a full VAS load ... but what I've noticed is that after I've done my standard view cycle (in the 777) and wait about …

    Hey guys, I know some of you purists might wish to kill me for this question but I'd like to know how the 777 does at x16 time lapse? I currently fly the 737NGX and use x8 time compression for cruise (I don't fly a route, just direkt from STAR to SID). So how is the general behavior of this beauty at x16 time compression? Is it stable or has it problems to maintain the flight level like the NGX? Thanks!
