I recently picked up PFPX and now I am trying to be much more realistic in my flight planning. I did not purchase top cat as it does not have the info for 777 at this time. I have noticed people talking about aurasim for takeoff/landing calculations. Does anyone use this and is it accurate? When top cat updates the profiles what would top cat do differently? Chris H

Well, i'm happy to report that my OOM issues are done deal. With all the forum post and suggestions, plus FSX tweaks all over the network....i think my system can handle these things now. I've logged in a combination of PMDG 737 NGX and PMDG 777 "real time" flights of 119 total hours of no OOM or CTD or anything that will hung my FSX. We are talking about landing in OMDB (Fly Tampa) taken off on a clear sky in LAX (FSDT), heavy thunderstorm in YSSY (default) overcast sky in RJAA (Wing Creation) and night landing at Tampa (Fly Tampa). The highest i've seen on my VAS was 3.910 using the new RJAA by Wing Creation on a real weather rainy heavy clouds approach. Kin M…

  15. I find myself handflying my takeoffs and climbs way more than I used to with the NGX. The 777 is so stable and so nice to fly, I'll throw it in LNAV and VNAV and fly the needles for path guidance. It's nice to hand fly this machine all the way to cruise before engaging the AP. I'm on my way from Dubai to Funchal right now, so I'll be disconnecting the AP at TOD and flying the whole descent right onto the runway. This bird at Madeira should be an interesting one!

I just purchase the new PMDG B777. The price was high but I love PMDG and B777. The installation was successful however when I load the aircraft, there is no wall and we can see the seats inside. I attached a picture and hope that you can help. Thank you. Al

Somehow when taxiing out to the runway this morning for cross the pond, I managed to overheat the brakes on the 777. Not really sure what I did differently than my previous flights but I got the Brake Heat warning (yellow). Anyway, I took off and once airborne the non-normal checklist pops up to advise that if I can determine that I have lost air in a tire that I should brake manually upon landing....ok no problem. I did notice on the gear ECAM page that pressure in one of the tires was zero. After landing and taxi to the gate the brakes come on automatically and I cannot get them off. After fumbling about for 5 minutes I realized that the flat tire was probably t…

Flying over the big lake I just did a step climb from 340 to 390, but I accidentally entered 396 in the MCP altitude window and pressed the knob to make the FMC values change and accepting the new position. After I pushed the know in all the predicted FMC values disappeared. All these fields were blank for approximately 5 Minutes until the values finally came back. My question now is: Is it a bug or a feature (yeah, we're talking about PMDG after all so I though I'd better ask ) If it's a bug I hope it will be fixed. If it's a feature: I love you PMDG

Hey, I know PMDG doesn't like to give dates for it's products, neither for patches, since everything can change in the last minute. But seeing the Issue Tracking Thread, I get the idea one of the only issues left to get the SP1 ready is the new code for the FBW. This is the biggest thing in this SP1 in my opinion too! It's keeping me from enjoying this bird for now. Could PMDG give us an estimate of progress regarding how is the new FBW code coming along, if they think it's in the right path, or if there's still much research and work to be done? I love hand flying these birds, that's why I'm so anxious about this one feature. Thank you for the time! Alexis
