Hello everybody, I have noticed that the 777 calculates pretty high V1 speeds especially when I am really heavy, is this normal? For example, below is a picture of me taking off from KSFO RW 28R inbound OMDB (lot of fuel) and fully loaded in passengers and cargo. As you can see I am taking off with 95% thust and I had flaps 15. I would expect for my VR and V2 to be so high but what about V1? Can someone explain? Here are my V-speeds calculated by the FMC. V1: 171 VR: 171 V2: 173 I am 100% sure I wouldn't be able to stop with that little RW left ahead of me if I aborted takeoff at let's say V1-1 knot. Thanks in advance.

I encounter a braking problem whenever I try landing at Princess Juliana Airport (TNCM). Essentially, after touchdown, and after retracting thrust reversers, the parking brake is "supposedly" activated and the 777 freeze stops on the runway. I can't disengage the parking break. The following are details. Usually I depart from Toronto (CYYZ) with 98,000 lbs fuel and a ZFW load level in the 90% range. On approach, I have configured the aircraft as follows: Spoilers Armed Autobrake set to 2 (sometimes 3) Flaps 30 Speed 140 On landing, I apply reverse thrust, let the autobrakes do their work, disengage the reverse thrust at 80 knots and tap the breaks around…

In the PMDG 777 when crossing the threshold on runway 28L at KSFO the aircraft crashes into something that is invisible when the approach is slightly low or shallow. After hearing the "thump" of hitting something I immediately pause the sim and go outside and see the aircraft is about 30 to 50 feet above the runway. I unpause and watch from the outside to see the nose drop to the runway and the nose gear collapse. It's broken. Baro/alt is about fifty feet. Radio/alt is at -2 feet after touchdown. Can the radio/alt ever legitimately be negative? Sometimes a cloud of dust is kicked up from the invisible obstruction. I see nothing wrong with the terrain image and nothing wro…

- Fixed a rare issue in LNAV calculation that could cause the aircraft to become unstable on a route leg that lies along a north-south longitudinal meridian. It seems I´m having this problem. In certain long transatlantic flights the plane goes crazy and starts doing u turns in mid flight. Cant get the plane back on LNAV. I wonder if this happens to every body or just a few people and if there is a way around it till the service pack comes out. My 777 is grounded till I can fix this because long flights take too long to plan for them to screw up mid flight, and the 777 was pretty much made for this type of flights so I´m screwed! Thanks,

I have started to have a problem I need some help with. Check the forums and could find no other mention of a similar problem. First of a disclaimer, I am running Win 8.1. So here goes. When I take off, with a moderate payload and fuel, after climbing to about 5 thousand, I can't get my speed to increase above 200- to 220 or so, even with the AT and AP off and the throttles maxed out. Both engine instruments indicate normal, But I can barely climb, if I increase to above 500 fpm, I start losing speed. It feels about like a DC6. When the program was first loaded, worked fine. It seemed to start after I also had the famous losing controls problem, which I resol…

I use FSBuild to build my flight plan and I upload them into my 777 FMC without any issues until today. I have used a flight KLAXKORD numerous times and when I request the flight plan and upload it I get the message shown above. I have reinstall the aircraft but get the same error message. Other flight plans has been uploaded with any issues but KORD seem to be an issue. Any help or assistance to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is a volum knob on the radio panel of 777 As I know V - voice only B - both play R - radio only But when I selected V, the localizer mors sound played. And when I selected R, the localizer mors sound was muted. It's reversed.. Is this a bug and will be fixed? (Sorry for my poor English)

Hi captains, during my last leg of the long ACA33/34 turn CYYZ-CYVR-YSSY-CYVR-CYYZ I experience a strange APU behaviour: 1. The APU switch is OFF (long enough, I don't mix it up with the cooling down period. ) 2. The STAT screen shows 100.0RPM. 3. The ELEC screen shows the APU box *not* in green (fitting to the switch setting). 4. The AIR screen shows the APU box in green (fitting to the RPM...). I tried to switch in on, yes, holding the switch to the right until flips back to ON. If I do so, - the L FWD PUMP kicks in (PRESS light out) - the APU 'FAULT' light blinks once as usual. - the APU door opens in the outside view. - the synoptics screen …

I've been trying to get some (mild) flood lighting on the overhead panel during night frights and haven't figured it out yet. I suspect that the OVHD / CB knobs are perhaps the answer, but they won't do anything for me. Should they light up something when twisted ? Is any flood lighting provided for the overhead panels ? If yes, how is it applied (and don't say flashlight ~ Best to all, Ken

When I load the aircraft the landing gear is up .Engines are running and all displays are dark. This happened previously and was corrected when I reinstalled. Now it's happened again. I originally thought that the problem could have been caused because I was loading from Airhauler but the problem persists If I load normally. Any help would be appreciated Regards Adrian

I am hoping this is being looked at in update. love your products pmdg. looking forward to the new 747. at this point flying ngx only. waiting for update I hope I did not waste $90. but then again this hobby is trial an error. Hi all, I assume that the topic I am referring to has surely been discussed at length on this Forum. However I have not been able to find the topic nor can I find the answer in the PMDG 777 manuals. Here is the question: I have the original EHAM/TNCM flightplan from FlightAware and which I would like to fly with the PMDG 777. My problem is that I cannot find the correct way to insert the North/south & East/West degrees in the FMC. Kind request to help me on this and for which I thatnk you in advance. Rgrds. Dirk

Hi Guy's, As usual, another random question..., Have been studying the QRH on my long London train journeys for the past week. All is going well except my understanding of the brake cooling schedule. Has anyone else read this section? Not sure why I cant get my head around it... For example, 777F MTOW, calm winds, ISA, reject at V1. How long do I need to cool the brakes for? Also any idea why Boeing decided to use 1 to 5 for brake temps? Am missing my old Celsius readouts from Airbus. Of course that is just me nit picking, but seeing 800c on the temp readout helped me visualize a lot better. So for example, brake reading is 5, how hot is that? 500c? …
