PMDG 777

Hi, I've assigned several keyboard keys to various autopilot functions, but I do not see the ability to assign a key to the IAS/MACH button. Did I miss it, or is it not listed? Best regards, Robin.

Hello Captains, I have recently came across a problem with my T7, it is where i am not seeing Contrails coming from my T7 above FL340. Image: Test to show me cruising at FL380! Hi, I have noticed 2 things, and I don't know what do you think about it? I find that when you are not using the ezdok camera you don't really feel the touchdown, I mean I don't really hear a touchdown sound exept the speedbreak deployment. The second thing is the throttle reduction when you do a landing with the A/T, I find that this throttle reduction is too long, and it supposed to be pretty fast. In my case I have an homemade made throttle and I have to press the reverse handle to accelerate the reduction. ( thing which is not really realistic , I mean press the reverse handle at 30 ft)... I've been looking for an easy to understand (if there is such a thing) tutorial for reading performance charts. I'm trying to calculate the minimum t/o runway length for a particular airfield, so I pulled up the 772 charts and after looking at all the lines going in every direction, I have a headache. Anyway if anyone knows of a site or source that would help me make sense of these charts i would appreciate it. Thanks!!! Richard

I just posted my problem this morning thinking it was a TrackIR problem. Looks like I was wrong, I tried another take-off from Male Rwy18 in the tutorial. This time I was only at 2000 feet and climbing, did not get to turn on the auto-pilot because the attitude indicator was spinning, the airspeed indicator was unreadable bouncing all over, up and down, same with the altitude indicator. A couple of previous flights I was able to turn on the auto-pilot before this happened. It's kind of disappointing as I was looking forward to flying the PMDG 777 after a week of learning how to program the FMC.

Good Morning fellow pilots, I am here this morning in seeking advice on decelerating in the PMDG 777-200LR. I am currently aware that you need to use speed intervention in order to get the plane to slow to final approach speed. However, I am unsure about what altitude to do this at, or what distance from the runway I should be at and be configured for landing. I have read a chapter in the FCTM about decelerating but it did not answer my question. Thank you in advance for your insightful answers.

Today I had my first failure. The main landing gear could no longer retract after takeoff. I'm unfortunately crashed :( . Is there a way to disable all the failures. Thanks for the help!

So I made half sized files which are played on the ground. eg. nose gear rattle, contact, rolling sound files. The Quality of half sized files is almost no differnce. I gonna test this now. And I will use the "Fraps" to measure average FRAME/sex. Good luck for me.

Hey guys, I saw Froogalsim has camera set for the PMDG 777, I jumped on it and tried it yesterday, I noticed there's no DHM in it. then I looked in the Internet and saw that someone wrote it was on purpose... and there's good reason for it. my question is what is that reason? do you guys don't use DHM and the PMDG 777? I've been trying to find good setup with EZdok and PMDG 777 for a long time. I need your help! thanks!

Finally got to do my first takeoff from Rwy18 at Male in the PMDG Tutorial 1. I was not prepared for how stable and easy to fly the PMDG 777 is to control on takeoff and climb out, it's actually mind blowing IMO. I found that the other aircraft in FSX, not be very stable, trimming the elevator helps, but it takes a click or two, of up and down trim all the time to maintain a somewhat level flight, particularly with an airliner. I had not turned my TrackIR5 back on, as I pause it with the F9 key to be able to use FSX's zoom keys to program the FMC, and FSX uses the same key for cockpit view also, as you all know. I took off from VHHH (heading towards EDDP), climbed to cruise level, disconnected from vatsim and went away from my computer. After 8 hours I come back and i see that my aircraft is making weird S turns and the autopilot is screaming at me. What really surprises me is that it turned left in chineese airspace to a heading of 180 and headed straight down through thailand/malaysia and ended up all the way exactly about where the wreckage from MH370 was found outside perth. Is this a known "feature" / bug?

Most of us are aware of the virtual memory issues, but I am really frustrated. If I start a flight at JFK in New York with the PMDG 777 I am almost out of memory before I take off (just under 4000) Turning off detailed scenery in route is pointless because I won't get that far. Yes I run a 64bit system windows 7. I can't fly from anywhere to New York or Boston because I run out of memory before I get there. I have a $3000 dollar system with loads of hardware, which means nothing because of this virtual memory issue. I don't believe in miracles, but I just thought I would vent on the forum. Bill C.

This just started, no problem previously. I searched the forum and could not find anyone having this problem with the PMDG Tutorial 1. When I get to the RTE 1 page with ORIGEN and DEST, when I type in OMBD with the scratchpad for DEST and select LSK 2R, I get a message at the bottom of the page Not In The Data Base, and the FMC will not accept it. So I obviously cannot go any further with programming the FMC.
