Hi everyone, I like to setup a flight for the NGX or 777 pre SP1 using PFPX online weather as a 'forecast', and Active Sky as 'actual' weather. I upload the FMC data, (& weather for 777), from PFPX, start ASN in live mode, and fly. No flight plan in ASN What changes do I have to make to this simple flow to take advantage of the new uplink features in SP1 please? Ray Copper

It seems the behavior of this has changed in SP1, before i was able, during preflight while refueling to manually enter the fuel quantity in the PERF INIT page so i can get more accurate cruise altitude and predictions without having to wait for refueling to complete. Now when i try to enter a manual quantity, it changes from CALC to MANUAL but the quantity displayed at LSK2L still continues to reflect the actual quantity on board and increases as fuel is added. I tried checking the manuals but they dont appear to give much detail on this matter, was the behavior wrong before SP1?

OK, now I get it... ...that the 777-200 is ungainly looking. ...that the -200 is a hotrod. ...that the fly-by-wire needed to be fixed. . ...that it took so long. To the PMDG crew: I am an aspiring pilot with a demanding day job. It pays good, but I don't always have the extra money to leap into an expensive add-on without some careful thought. I bought the 777-200 last year at rollout, my only serious jet sim purchase. I was skeptical because as the average shmoe I thought the baby 777 was fine. I live my life from the "short" turn around, flying freight for FedEx. I don't spend tons of time in the manual and don't have failures turned on. I…

Howdy folks! On one end I am happy to report that I am not experiencing a lot of the issues being reported so far on SP1. My weather radar works fine, flight dynamics are very good, no major issues to report, amd the installs of both, SP1 and the 777-300 went without a hitch. On the other hand however, the VC has become a bona fide dawg with FPS. Pre SP1 my 777-200 cockpit was yielding 24+ fps on almost every situation. Post SP1 I cant break 12 with either the 200lr or the 300. Anyone seeing the same? Dennis

I flew the 777F from KMEM to LFPG today and the destination weather was just awful. ATIS (ActiveSky Next) warned about windshear in the vicinity, very close to Charles De Gaulle 27R, which I was using for landing. The airplane was shaking like if it was a 172, but I continued my ILS approach manually, with A/T on SPD mode fighting to maintain 170kts until 7 miles out or so. Wind was from 300 at 9kts gusting to 20kts, and ASN was throwing heavy up and down drafts and after setting VRef (137kts) + 5 on the MCP and selecting flaps 30, the autothrottle started to have difficulties maintaining the commanded airspeed. At all times I was particularly careful of not falling v…

Hi, folks. First of all I'll take my chance to say "thank you" to PMDG team for such amazing products as 777X and 737NGX - I can't have enough of them - and wish them good luck in their tremendous efforts to make the world of flight simulation a better place. My question is about automatic export of the active FMC route into FSX format file (wx.pln) by PMDG 777. As I understand it, the only condition that has to be met for it to happen when I send requests for the forecast data, is the option "FSX PLN FILE FOR WXR" set to "CREATE FILE (WX.PLN)" (I know that there are following steps like exporting this file to the weather addon and so on, but I am having problems …

Hi, I hope there is someone who could explain this too me. I did several take offs with a takeoff weight at about 300t with flaps set to 15 and a derated thrust setting with the 300ER. Depending on balance FMC gave me a Trim setting of 6.5 - 7.0 When hitting Vr I didn't need too much input tu pull the nose up! As soon as the nose gear lifts up I do not need any input in the controls achieve my climb out angle. But from then on the nose wants to rise, rise and even rise. To compensate this I need to push the yoke forward quite a lot and I tried to trim her back to release some yoke pressure. Heres a video of a take off from a guy, who seems to have quite the same…

Hi, it's the first time I use the 777, but I have the impression that, when pushing the throttles to the takeoff thrust or when pushing the TOGA, it takes too long to the engines to reach the takeoff value, most of the times when I get to V1 they are still spooling towards that value. I know the engines are big and I was used to the 737 NGX, but I have seen some takeoff videos on Youtube and it definately takes quite less to achieve the takeoff power.

SInce the application of the SP1 patch for the 777-200, whenever I start the FMC preparation ,after position initialization, when I select the route page, the company route is already loaded in there. I suppose that the FMC is smart and loads the best fitting route with the actual position. The route is accurate but does it happen in real aircrafts ? So what is the utility do sent a datalink request if the FPL is already loaded ? Another curious thing: This untimely route includes the SID already. I use PFPX to prepare my route and I export it in PMDG\flightplans ; PMDG\flightplans\777 ; PMDG\flightplans\NGX How should I do to get a "naked" route page after po…

Guys, I quickly wanted to mention something as I have seen a lot of comments in various places with regard to the 300. Those comments allude to this being the 200LR with a stretched fuselage. As such some people are talking about passing on the expansion. This could not be further from the truth, unlike some other sim developers, this is not just a change in external model. The 300 when you fly her (and I have been for a while now) flies like a COMPLETELY different bird to the LR. That stretched fuselage and more importantly, different powerplant makes a huge difference. You will notice that immediately on the first flight. The guys at PMDG have spent a long long …

Hey guys (I guess PMDG). Is there anywhere I can find or obtain in-depth maintenance checklists for the 777? Before you released the 737, you made mention of running "an airline's post deliver maintenance verification checklist against the electrical system on the NGX". I know my own airline's maintenance manuals for our airplane give very detailed tests and checks and what to look for. I didn't know if we could get our hands on something similar. Not to "check your work" but just something that will give us some in-depth tests to run that a regular line pilot would not be responsible for. Or if nothing else, some sort of delivery or post heavy check checklist t…

1.) Is there a typical flap setting for takeoff on the 777, my guess would be flaps 15 2.) Most of us know that on the NG typical flap schedule would be 1,5,15, 30 or 1,5,15,25,40 does the 777 have a typical schedule during approach? 3.) Most 737 landings are with flaps 30 instead fo the full 40, does the 777 sometimes land with flaps 25 instead of the full 30? thanks! mitch bowman

Hi, On my short flight today I noticed following problem: After landing I shut the engines off, and was running on the APU for a few minutes. Then I connected groundpower and shutoff the APU. However, I noticed that the packs-audio is still running. Cycling Q didn't help, so I searched for the cause. A brief look at the air-page showed the following: As you can see, the engine is shutoff, however the bleedair-valve is still open. On the overhead panel you can see the engine R ENG switch doesn't show "OFF". This is the first time I experienced this. It worked fine on the previous flights as far as I can remember. Best regards, …

Hi. I have installed the 300ER and have an issue when trying to switch off Auto Cruise. I right click on the cockpit clock to speed the sim up to 8x, though I very rarely now ever see my sim speed up to that, mainly stays at 4x. My problem now is that when I try to switch Auto Cruise off, I right click on the clock but the digits go to yellow or red. I look in the FMC in the Auto Cruise options within FS Actions and the only way I can return the sim to normal speed is to LSK- Reset option. I was always able to switch off Auto Cruise just by cocking on the button on the cockpit clock before SP1 and the 300ER. Anyone else having this issue?
