PMDG 777

  1. Started by Elsmoko,

Not sure but I suspect this happened following aircraft update(s) via the Operations Center. How can RAAS be re-enabled ? I have the T7, 744 V3, and others. Thank you, Ken Boardman

  2. I've created a flight plan from VHHH to ZGGG, and I've setup the fmc using the data as shown in the screenshot. However, why in the LEGS page, the speed isn't activated and in the PROG page, the econ page is set to 215? I didn't enter this number. FMC settings As you see in the LEGS, waypoint PORPA will be using 215/6000 instead of 250/6000

I only just purchased the PMDG 777 and it's doing something very weird at takeoff. I'll increase power to approx. 50% and then engage TO/GA, which works fine. But the after around 5 seconds, the throttle decreases. I'm not following the thrust with my throttle during TO/GA, but this is not an issue with other PMDG aircraft I own. I don' t touch my throttle either, so I'm really confused. Does someone know how to fix this? Thanks! Have a safe flight! Ted van Wijk

Hello, When I load in a scenario in the PMDG 777 it usally takes 1 minute for it to load up to 80% but then it stops there for like 5 minutes and after that it loads in slowly. Is there any way I can fix this? I use P3D v4.2

Hello I own the PMDG 777 for P3D v4 for a few days and I have one little issue that I'm currently unable to solve on my own. During Takeoff Roll, when the 777 accelerates, the thrust suddenly goes back when V1 / VR is being reached. As far as I'm aware, I've completed the MCP Prepration as followed: - Both Flight Directors are armed - Both AT/R are armed - The V2 Speed is entered in IAS - LNAV / VNAV is armed During takeoff, I manually set about 50% of N1 and then I press the Toga Button. The N1 then goes to about 90%, based on my Temperature Setting in the FMC, and suddenly goes back to around 50% when the Plane reaches V1 /VR. Has anyone s…

Well,I use PMDG 777-300ER and everything was fine yesterday. I made a flight from LTBA to KJFK without any issues. Today, when i try to enter the cost index to FMC for another flight, FMC just freezed. I closed and restarted the game and tried to request that informations instead of entering manually. This time, when i clicked accept button, all entries became invisible. They just turned to blanks. I couldn't see any indent for any attribute. I even tried my last flight which i flied yesterday and all that FMC things were operating as normal, i get the freezing problem. Btw, all VC works without a problem, only FMC freezes. I also tried to delete the aircraft and reinstal…

Hi. Flight PMDG777-300ER with P3Dv4. I recorded the landing phase. The landing gear are exstended but not seen; the plane seems suspended on the runway.

My understanding of the air conditioning system is that very hot air from engines is cooled down by packs, and used as air conditioning through out the aircraft. The trim air system then uses the hot air from engines to carefully inject hot air to meet a desired temp between 18-28 degrees. When selecting AIR on EFIS, I did not really understand how the behaviour related to my understanding. Firstly, while taxiing I noticed the trim air valves were randomly opening and closing (even though set as ON). Why is this (Air system was setup normally, with engines and packs all on)? II thought maybe the trim air valves open and close to do the heat monitoring (stop flo…

Hello all, I have been primarily flying PMDG's 737 and 747 and just got into piloting the 777. I had an impression during takeoff and landing that the 777 is hard to control. That is, the controls feel stiff and the plane seems rather less responsive compared to 747 and 737 that react well to my yoke inputs. This particularly makes flaring difficult since even though I pull up at like 50 ft, the plane flares late and makes a hard landing. Anyone else feel the same way and configured their hardwares differently for the 777?

Hi, For the first time, the Service Based Failures triggered for me, on the approach to KSFO the High Oil temp is triggered, and then I had to switch off the ENG 2, however after that the other day, I also fly another 77W with different liveries, on the approach, again, I had the same failure, could you please explain me how that works and how to really fix the High Oil Temp on the ground, is that a line REFILL OIL TEMP in FMC ? Thanks

Just encountered an issue I have never seen before. When approaching the WARDZ waypoint on the BEREE1 Star at KDFW, my airplane suddenly starts spinning and banking at a rate of about 360 degrees/second. I thought that MAYBE it was a spike in controls causing it to go haywire, so I recreated the flight, and it happened at the exact same time. Here is what I have going on for this flight: FSX:SE KMIA-KDFW Departure Time 1700z WINCO2 WINCO J43 LBV DCT SRQ DCT REDFN Q105 HRV/N0486F360 J58 PEBBY DCT PNUTS BEREE1 ZFW-524000 TOW-582350 Activesky Next - set to sim time- Sept 15, 1700z departure No other addons other than up to date AFCA…

I have now progressed in flying the 777. I think I am missing something: with the TOPER Calculator I am able to introduce weather data to calculate the take off conditions. But what about the landing? I do not see how to introduce weather data to calculate the landing approach speed (VREF). What am I missing? Regards, Domingos

  13. Having come from X-Plane's Flight Factor 777, I wanted to get set up with Prepar3d so I can finally check out PMDG. It's clearly even more realistic, because I seem to be less capable of operating it :) Here are some questions I have, even after researching for ages: 1. When loading fuel through FMC GROUND OPERATIONS page, the center fuel tank never loads. All the fuel just goes into the left and right tank. Why is, and how would I load it into all 3 tanks evenly? 2. Does PMDG GROUND OPERATIONS not actually have any visuals (push trucks, fuel trucks, etc), or could I just have a setting set incorrectly? It is weird being pushed back by an invisible push tru…

Hello everyone, It's the second time this night I loose the flight, when I just input the Cost Index into the CDU, FSX freezes with the VERT PATH FULL message on the scratchpad. Then it's all lost, the mousepointer hangs on the hand-finger icon and that's it, I have to kill the processes. Any ideas on solving this issue? Thank you.

  15. Hey guys! I've been having a very annoying issue with my PMDG 777 lately. On all my last 5 long haul flights, I am experiencing a constant and slow reduction of my fuel remaining at my destination. I am planning all my flights with real time weather in PFPX and activesky. By comparing the estimated wind forecast in the OFP and the actual wind in the sim, I can tell that they match very closely. I already read this: and changed the battery of my motherboard. - doesn't help. I have around 2000 hours in the sim with the PMDG 777 and never had this issue before. Does anybody have an idea about what's going on? Please help me I don't how to continue.

  16. I have installed the PMDG on my FSX Steam Edition and I am sure that I am not the first person to not know what to do but I noticed that my FCM was messaging that the database was out of date and although it doesn't represents a huge inconvenience I have update everything using Navigraph. So that caught my attention but since everything seems to work I kept using the aircraft that I had installed. Then I try to uplad a new livery and found out that my PMDG livery manager doesn't communicate or recognize the FSX installed stuff and I don't really know what to do. If anyone know the solution please point me as detailed as possible …. I am not very skillful …. in the right d…

Hello, Recently I went back to flying the 77W in my P3D v4.2 installation after several months flying other big birds without issues, but I've been somewhat unsuccessful. Occasionally P3D will just CTD, no messages, no Event Viewer entries, but also occasionally P3D will just hang ("this application stopped responding blá blá blá) and force a close. Is there any information to try to mitigate this? Thanks!

Hi, Short after take off, I got a PACK L failure message. I followed the non normal checklist but the failure remained. As my cruise alt was fl 380, I searched the forums because I know that this limits the max alt in many airliners. I read however that one 777 engine can supply both packs and that a reduced cruise alt wasn't necessary. Others stated that their company policy did prescribe a reduced cruise alt. I reached 38000 feet with normal cabin pressure and normal cabin temps. So, what is the correct procedure? Jos Denis

I like to start a session with the aircraft always in the Cold & Dark state. Through the CDU I am able to define the situation. If I close the session and then start a new one the Cold & Dark state is not kept, as the aircraft starts with even engines on. What have I to do in order to start my session in a C&D situation? Hi all, Question for the board. Standard disclaimer: here at work, so I don't have access to the FCOM and a forum search yielded nothing. I was flying a Cathay 77W from EGLL to VHHH. One thing I will do is hit the "crew rest," meaning a disconnect from VATSIM, turn off random failures, and shut down or disable anything that could interrupt Otto from taking the bird along its route. I go to bed, wake up, and when I come down from the proverbial crew rest, I have about 2 hours to go. I have auto-step climb enabled. I can't remember specifics, but I want to say my ZFW was around 226 tons. The initial cruise alt was FL310. This morning, the MCP ALT was set to …

I have now my 777 installed and the tutorial flight performed. I have now two questions: a) The tutorial #1 makes reference to a Tutorial #2: where can I find it? b) Is there any application to calculate the fuel to be loaded, or should we only rely on the rough estimate of about 8000Kg per flight hour? 24. Hello, I have been diagnosing for the past 3 days an issue with what I thought was an FSUIPC issue..I deleted/removed all my third party add-ons to try and narrow down the problem. It follows. I filed a flight plane in the 777 and also the 747-400 (legacy) from KBOS-EGLL via CELTK->FRILL->KANNI->RAFIN-> etc. After climbing to a crz level of 350, all seems steady and well until I get about 11 miles west of KANNI. At that time, the plane either starts climbing or descending slightly. I then try to disconnect the AP and re-engage. The place will not respond. Also, if I try to use manual controls, only the ailerons respond but the plane will …

I have just noticed that the "1000" callout on final approach (the point at which I disconnect the AP) is not matching the "elevation above terrain" stated on the FMA. The latter seems to be at around 840 feet when I get the "1000" callout. Does anyone know what I may have done to mess this up? It works fine in both the 737 NGX and 747-400, and I am reasonably certain that it worled properly when I first started using the 777 (although I could be wrong).
