~S~ to all.I just started to fly choppers, what a great experience it is.For years I was only flying fixed wings (also have a PP SEL for ten years) and man how much fun did I miss.First of all I want to thank HoverSafe Academy for their outstanding lessons, I never got to enjoy helicopters in FS 98 and FS2kpro, since all I did was shooting up like a rocket and crash land after I was done. Now I can hover a little, take of like a real helicopter and skit land at 20 -30 mph. When I feel comfortable I might even take the flight-tests.Now some nub questions:I have the very first original MS force feedback stick, it works the way it should with all games and most planes in FS 2k…

For any interested Rotornuts:This is really worth a look for anyone that loved Longbow2 or Enemy Engaged. Graphically speaking, this is the LOMAC of Helo Sims! Screenshots here: http://www.buka.ru/game/Game_1298.htm?screenshot=galleryI contacted the powers at be developing Fair Strike to express our interest, here in the U.S., for a realistic, modern combat helo sim. I informed them that there would be much more interest in their game if they were to include some U.S. combat helos. I invited them to the SimHQ Helicopter Forum to see what helos we would all be interested in. Please go there and make your voices heard!!!!!!Voting here:http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards…

http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3dde7a005e4e724d.jpgThe filename is bfu-206b.zip and will appear in the FS2002 Helicopters category (at least that's what I selected). This repaint includes polished exhaust pipes, fixes to the default alpha channel, a few small details such as fuel and oil spillage, and both 32-bit and DXT3 format files.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums Moderator

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? Hello folks!Everybody seems to be completely happy with the new Dauphin, the good looks, the new switches, and how he and how he's not! But for the past 4 weeks almost every posting in this forum is related somehow to that helicopter, and in the gros of them there complains about certain features, things not working etc. Guys are happy that they get this thing in the air for the first time, guys, who appearently have been using helicopters in FS for years and years are now happy with "i got the rotor run-up but crashed immediately! It was great, thanks you did a great job Antti Pankkonen! This is lovely!"HELLO?!!! If this was a real helicopter it would have to be revised …

Hey all!Just downloaded the new V22 Osprey (GMAX) by Vlad Zhyhulskiy, and it looks great, but talk about learning to fly again! Anyway, I've just about got it to fly, but I'm having real problems getting it to hover. It will go into a hover, but slowly sinks, as for trying to climb a little in the hover, forget it.Sooo... has anyone else tried this beast? If so, can you get it to hover? How? Also, does anyone have "roll" control? in forward flight, I can turn with pedals (like the readme says) but no response from the ailerons (are there ailerons on the V22?...).There we go, tonights homework... get this thing flying!!!Have fun.

Has anyone tried this chopper sim? It's patterned after the older Search & Rescue 3. I find it quite entertaining even though it has asimplistic cockpit. I'm new at flying chopper in general so I find itchallenging to fly.

Hi Richard,Some time ago, you let us know that there are some guy's out there working on some new helis. I realise that they don't want to release anything till they are ready and all that, but... ( yep, you know whats coming next) Could you PLEASE give us a progress report on any of them?I'm particularly interested in the Bell 609, since the release of the GMAX V22, I've been messing around with the .air and .cfg to try and get a realistic flight characteristic, which ain't easy when you haven't got a clue what your doing!!!Anyway, any info would be nice.CheersAlun

Below is the 2nd in what will hopefully be a series of write-ups on interesting helicopter-related experiences that I've had... the first can be found in the archives.----On 16 October 2002, I flew from Salinas, CA to Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego - in a helicopter! I thought I'd give you a Pilot Report on the experience.A Salinas-based company, [link:www.verticare.com|Verticare], runs a helicopter "act" called [link:www.showcopters.com|Showcopters] that tours the airshow circuit. Their chief CFI, Chris Gularte, came up with the great idea of letting people like me tag along and log time in either the [link:www.robinsonheli.com/Raven.htm|Robinson R44] or R22 - f…

On the center consol above the auto pilot buttons for engaging collective and cyclic control is a field for a four digit number. It usually is set at "0" for a default and it increases in intervals of 100. What does this instrument do?? Thanks!!
