I have just finished my new Helo Controls.Uses an MSff2 stick as the base, and I have figured out how to link the entire stick to a cyclic, collective and pedals. YUP....pedals. This bugger is very sensitive, as I have set all travel limits to +/- 2" on the cyclic with FSUIPC. In other words, a total travel of 2" in any direction on the cyclic gives full max travel. I have the cyclic sitting at the height where I can rest my wrist on my thigh and "twitch" it with my fingers. Works very well.Pedals have a total travel of 6 inches from full back to full forward, so again I have maximised their sensitivity for helo flying. The collective is a little unorthodox. In order to k…

Metro Helicopters (VA) will soon be launching a new and expanded web site, http://metrohelo.org/ We invite you to stop by for a preview!Metro pilots fly 100% online using the VATSIM network, and use realistic helicopter procedures and published helicopter routes. They follow voice dispatching during weekly Metro operations, use voice ATC, and fly with simulated real world weather conditions. The existing Metro Web site, http://avsim.com/hangar/air/metrohelo/ has been very popular. Since its inception about six months ago, the site has received over 4,900

I recently took my first ride on a helicopter and needless to say, that's what I've been flyin' lately! ANYway, being pretty new to rotor flight, (REALLY new, actually) I have a couple of questions about Antti's(sp) Dauphin. In the manual.doc, there's quite an explanation about disabling the joystick and setting axises, etc. How do you fly the Dauphin without the joystick enabled? That's my first question. If and when I change all this, does it preclude me from flying fixed wing, or does it all need to be changed back again ?Any explanations greatly appreciated!Mark

Hi there fellow rotorheads!I need some help.I know there was a good deal of EC135 for FS2000, but is there a great one for FS2k2? Or some of the older one adapted for FS2002? I.E Fs2002 lighting? And I have a EC120 for FS2000, made by Rob Beard or something, superb aircraft! But I would like to have Fs2002 lightning on it, is it possible to alter the aircraft.cfg to have FS2002 nav and strobe effects? Cause that would be great! It would complete the aircraft for Fs2002, since it does have a virtual cocpit/cabin AND a complete soundsystem from Manuel Gonzales! :)------------Fredrik Wold >:-)

Okay, I'm determined to get it working this time around and not give up after I hear all the fun everybody has been having with it. My problems: can't get my pedals (the pedals on the MS FF Wheel) to work. Axis is Y as in FS and nothing is happening. Also, my forward left view is not working, and it's set to the right button on my joystick. Anybody know what's wrong here?My dauphin.cfg:cyclic_pitch=2,Y;cyclic_roll=2,X;yaw=1,rY;collective=2,SLIDER0;null_zone_yaw=512;force_trim_release=1,BUT1;beep_trim=2,POV0;toggle_cycl_fd=2,KEYB_PG_DN;toggle_coll_fd=2,KEYB_PG_UP;toggle_coupler=2,KEYB_END;toggle_ap_lane1=2,KEYB_INS;toggle_ap_lane2=2,KEYB_DEL;toggle_sas_ase=2,KEYB_HOME;…

New Dauphin New CFG problems.I had the version 1.2 Dauphin working just fine. Now with the new one I am having cfg problems. My currnet cfg is:number_of_devices=1;cyclic_pitch=1,Y;cyclic_roll=1,X;yaw=1,rZ;collective=1,SLIDER0;null_zone_yaw=512;force_trim_release=1,BUT1;beep_trim=1,POV0;toggle_landing_gear=1,BUT7;toggle_cycl_fd=1,BUT5;toggle_cycl_fd=1,KEYB_PG_DN;toggle_coll_fd=1,BUT3;toggle_coll_fd=1,KEYB_END;toggle_coupler=1,BUT4;toggle_coupler=1,KEYB_PG_UP;toggle_ap_lane1=1,KEYB_INS;toggle_ap_lane2=1,KEYB_DEL;toggle_sas_ase=1,KEYB_ACC;go_around=1,BUT2;brakes=1,BUT6;look_back=2,BUT12;look_down=2,BUT11;look_left=2,BUT10;look_right=2,BUT9;pan_view=2,POV0;low_realism_setti…

Hi everyone,I'm building an EC135 panel for our rescue-heli-VA (and for everyone else, who want it :) ) It will feature many glass gauges like EFIS, vehicle & engine managment display, caution and advisory display, a 3-axis autopilot, a fully functional FADEC-System, etc.I also want to build in some sort of a stability augmention system (SAS). Something to make hovering more easy. Now I wanted to know, how you would like this? All this is made in XML, so everyone can adapt it to other helis, especially the autopilot :)regards,Franz

I'm considering joining a heli VA, and it requires using VATSIM. I haven't used SB since my fixed wing days back when the network was SATCO. It was a real blast, but isn't it more difficult when flying helos? You'd have to reach over and type all while flying your helo that doesn't have an autopilot, so while you're typing are you flailing all over the place? I'm text only currently, though I might get a mic soon. Anybody with rotary flight time on VATSIM want to share there experience? :)

I've been using the dauphin succesfully for a while with no problems and all of a sudden my panel windows won't open up anymore. I'm talking about the pedestal, the overhead, fuel control, etc. I have them programmed to buttons on my joystick and they used to work just fine. Also the gear won't respond to the joystick. I even tried using the keyboard directly (shift+1, shift+2, etc) and that doesn't work either. The only way I was able to get the windows to open was to go into the menu bar and open them from there. So essentially, the panel is no longer responding to keystokes from the keyboard. The only thing that works is the hatswitch for view control. I haven't …

Hi!After looking this forum thru I got rid of most of my problems.. However every time I go to hover mode it wont fly the selected hdg it just start turning right, faster and fast. It works fine when I use hdg select in cruise mode.. Any ideas ?Cheers!Daniel Schilder

If you havn't already, go over to hovercontrol and download the new version of Jordans S300. It features a new ... um... feature, Load Control! You can adjust the load on your heli, be it fuel, PAX, or load, including underslung load (and yes, there is an underslung load shown under the aircraft!).Enjoy!Alun

I've seen it at EB and Best Buy but thought it would be a crappy game for some reason. Well I just tried the demoe. I'm actually impressed! Graphics aren't bad. The flight model is "ok". The missions are pretty cool. The start up sound is really cool but after the engine is fired instead of the classic Huey "Thump" it sounds like a mixture of a Dauphin and Huey. Overall not too bad. I may just go and buy the game.I read somewhere that this is actually considered SAR 4. Not too sure on that though.

A while back, Ian Standfast and Nick Canning created a Royal London Hospital scenery for FS98. This was (and still is) a wonderful piece of work, but unfortunately you can't land on it in FS2002. Does anyone know if there has been an update for it, or if someone can update it to be landable in FS2002? Thanks.

I have long been annoyed at the lack of "feel" in the helis in FS owing to bad forward and forward/down visibility when landing; it's hard to judge your drift, is it not? I made these quick improvements tonight which may be old hat to many but, my golly, they improved my evening. If you want to try the following, back up your PANEL.CFG and insert the following under the WINDOW TITLES, overwriting the WINDOW00 configuration details:*************************************(VIEWS) ...................... this word in SQUARE bracketsVIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=0,GPS_PANELVIEW_FORWARD_UP_WINDOWS=37VIEW_FORWARD_UP_ZOOM=0.8VIEW_FORWARD_UP_DIR=25.0, 0.0, 0.0(Window00) ................... a…

Some of you may already have this package. But I recently came across it at www.flightsim.com. It is a very nice package of Bell 206b's that come complete with 2 repaint versions of PHI (Petroleum Helicopters Inc.) and one of Air Logistics. The panel is very nice and IMO gives a pretty accurate rendition of the real panel in the 206 and in a good pilot's perspective. No VC, but has very nice 2D interior views. Between 1997 and 2000, I worked as a Paramedic on offshore oil rigs and my company used PHI and Air Log to transport us back and forth. Having actually flown in both the PHI and Air Log 206's, I can say the repaints are very good and I was excited to see this downloa…
