Dear all,Yes, I have no real or solid information about Flight, but I am rather annoyed about the PR surrounding FLIGHT and how this has stopped me from being excited about the new simulator. It appears that the simulator/game is to be released soon as it is now entering the first stages of Beta testing, but I find it amazing how we are at such stages of the simulator/game now and yet so little is known about the simulator/game.From looking at their website I have so little knowledge of what FLIGHT is, that I can't even say if FLIGHT is a simulator or a game! Were at beta stages (starting in January 2012) and we still don't know the following: A full list of aircraft that …

Hello fellow simmers,So we will most likely see Flight released in 2012. How many of you are intending on upgrading immediately? While I anxiously await its release and will be following every update, I am not planning on getting it for atleast another 3 years. Having built a healthy collection of add-ons and hardware over time, I dont think I can leave behind FSX just yet. In my opinion, it will be 2-3 years before we see the variety in 3rd party product choices we have in FSX today. The biggest developers still have promising add-ons for FSX in the works and until this momentum subsides, cant see any reason to change. It will also take time for the product to mature and…

Now THAT would be something I'd upgrade for! With so many wonderful 3rd party aircraft and scenery there is no question we have a platform that already really works so well it really wouldn't be horrible if another major upgrade never showed up. ATC though could really use some improving. I used RC for a while but then lost interest w/ the concatenated quality of the audio, and a certain lack of seamless integration over the default ATC.Noel

I know the whole "Hawail" only thing has been speculated to death, but that is because MS feeds into it by not confirming anything.. so my question is...Just wondering what the consensus will be if Flight turns out to be a Hawaii only sim? Will you still buy it or keep on chugging with FSX or another sim? Me myself, I have put a considerable effort in time and money into FSX (owning just about every quality addon) and so Flight would need to be scalable with third party software to allow me to use my addons-- like ASE 2012 which I just got the other night.

It is beginning to make me sick of reading stuff in here. Speculations, speculations.... Nothing valuable. There is only one poll which sums up almost every single topic in here.My guess is to rename the subforum to The Microsoft Flight Speculators Forum. Then You might guess, if it will be Hawaii, will there be jets, will Your PC handle it, will Your gear work with it, will it allows port-overs form FS2004, will there be overcast textures, will there be sloped runways, will there [put in here anything You can wish of] .....

Directly from Microsoft are two recent job postings for the Flight project team, which I have included below for your reading pleasure. The first one was posted December 8th and is for an aircraft and systems modeler. Hmmm, interesting. The second second one posted on December 13th and is for a creative lead that will "work with the studio leadership to define the vision and execute on that vision". Interesting again.Let's all speculate. Oh, unless that offends you. If so, just skip the thread.Numero Uno: Job Category: Software Engineering: Development Location: United States, WA, Redmond Job ID: 779112 Division: Interactive Entertainment Business Microsoft Stud…

I've been playing with the XP10 demo while I await the full version to arrive in the mail, and while I've been a long time supporter of MSFS, I have to say that from a "looks" standpoint, XP10 blows FS and Flight (what we've seen at least) out of the water. That being said, we all know FS has a steep learning curve, and learning the ins and outs of XP make FS look like a walk in the park. But as I fly low in the XP demo, it really looks like a city. Streets with sidewalks and crosswalks and cars driving along, all at a pretty good framerate as well.

Now that the beta is about to begin, the alpha testing is finished. For those who were not paying attention at school, alpha comes before beta.Anyway, those of us who were fortunate (or not, depends on your point of view) to participate in the alpha test are the only ones who really know all the features of Flight. And at great personal risk, I shall now reveal to all some of the many new elements that will surprise and even shock many of you, but also confirm to even more what you have all feared. Please keep all of the following to yourselves as it is still under a non-disclosure agreement. So many users wanted the next version of Flight Simulator to look like Crysis and…

Until flight is released, listen to these sounds for the upcoming GTR 3 racing game (www.gtr3.com). I know this has nothing to do with Flight, but shows what is possible with audio on the PC. Put on your headset, and don't be shy with the audio.

I'm unsure of exactly what information has been released on Flight, I haven't been following it's progress as much as some people here might of. Anyway, I've got several expectations for how Flight will turn out, including several features that, IMO, it should defiantly have. I'd like to know how realistic my expectations are, and if any of them have been confirmed or even rumoured to be included in the game...1. Some sort of passengers interface or simulation, similar to FSPassengers for FSX. I think this should have been included since FS2004, because, passengers are the primary reason you fly a passenger aircraft, which are arguably the most popular type of aircraft am…

Came across something very interesting; Aerofly FS features:Everthing is realIn aeroflyFS you fly in a real environment. The entire 41,285 sq.km (15,940 sq.miles) of Switzerland are available down to a resolution of 40 in. Virtually all Swiss airports are equipped with landing strips, which are reproduced to their exact dimensions. Among them are numerous selected airports, which feature all hangars and buildings as well as correct taxiways. The scenery is displayed in such high resolution and photo realistic appearance making it basically impossible to distinguish from the air whether the scenery is virtual or real.Aerofly FS Requirements:Hardware-Requirements Intel Cor…

Ok, in case nobody suggested it before... I'd like to be able to spend some time walking around the aircraft. It adds a pretty good immersion factor. I didn't necessarily think one way or the other, but a video of Take On Helicopters convinced me. Beside the idea of being able to do external preflights, it would be immersive to elect to plan a flight in a virtual FBO and walk to your plane. There's other things I'd rather see first, but you know... daydreaming... Just saying. Andrew

There's new stuff on the Flight website! They talk about the sounds on Flight. It has also been confirmed that Flight will have "Crude Humor" and "Mild Violence".Anyone having problems playing the sounds? I am.http://www.microsoft...udio_philosophyWhat kind of violence do you think Flight could have? (Don't say "mild").

Wow! Lots of speculation on the next version of Flight Simulator! It is just speculation, of course. Tenuous evidence to back up most of this lively debate. But everyone's mostly hopeful that Microsoft's decision to dump the franchise was merely a strategic reassesment. So just to throw it out there, yet another opinion: There will be no next version of Flight Simulator, there's a reason the upcoming title has a new name. Reason also that the Aces team, with their decades of experience and expertise, were disbanded. MSFS was structured from the beginning as a stand-alone sandbox environment; connectivity only came later, long after third-party solutions. It morphed into a …

Welcome to the November FSX and Flight Comparison Screenshots! I may not have been able to find ALL the locations, but here are the ones I did find. I just wanted to post what I have for now and if I find any others later, I'll be sure to post them. I also uploaded these images to my website's server this time around. That way, if I get the chance, I can paint the Stearman in the correct livery, take a new shot, (I saved the flight in FSX) and re-upload the shot. :( Keep in mind that the closest aircraft to the Flight RV-6A that I could find was the FSX native RV-7, which is payware, so the focus of shot #4 should be more on the scenery, as the aircraft can't be fairly co…

Dear Simmers, I was thinking all day today about the hundreds of dollars I have invested into FS9 for the last 3 years 679.32 US to be exact, but now I have come to start thinking, about my new reinvestment into FSX from my 2,000 computer to 364.00 in just 8 months in addons for FSX! No I feel no regret spending this money and many of my scenery's were transferable between both simulators but will it really be worth the investment into Flight? While I believe not because I think flight may be great because of the new coding and detail, how many will really upgrade to new computers, seeing that FSX has been out for over 5 years and people still refuse to upgrade gives me …
