I've been away from simming for nine months and would like very much to get back into it and don't know where to start. Like many of you, I flew a highly optimised FSX for years but after selling off my old system, I would be starting from scratch again. I've built a new machine with Windows 7 64bit on it and am ready to re-install everything but I have no experience with Prepar3D. I love flying smaller aircraft with up to date GPS, the largest I've managed to fly is the Q400 but with three kids, my sim time is now limited to 1-2 hours per night, so I need to keep it relatively uncomplicated. I'm only interested in flying with ORBX scenery or very good photoscenery…

If anyone is interested, Shez just released his new KLGB scenery and it works in P3Dv2. It's available in the library. Like all his sceneries it looks great!

Hi all. Is it common to lose 10fps using OrbX products? I'm on the latest P3D and OrbX PNW and my testing with identical everything (only scenery swapped) is showing around a 10fps drop using OrbX PNW. Brutal. Simply makes their product useless to me unfortunately. Anyone else seeing this? Or perhaps there's a big "tip" I'm missing to better cope with whatever OrbX has done vs stock?

I just installed Gibraltar X and Mykonos X in P3Dv2 and having problems with blurries. The framerates are good and everything runs smoothly but parts of the scenery won't load properly, even when I pause the SIM the terrain won't load.. Anyone else struggling with this? or have any tips howto get rid of the blurries? I also have another problem with Mykonos, Im missing alot of autogen in some parts of the island.... Help appriciated :mellow:

For years I've been using the registered version of FSUIPC to set up and calibrate different controller profiles for different kinds of aircraft. I don't have a strong reason to switch - but I'm mildly interested in trying to do the same thing by assigning axes and buttons directly in P3D and then using the Import/Export Controls function to swap profiles. Reasons: I like simplifying whenever I can; some highly automated controls (like the throttles in the Airbus X Extended) can be difficult to set up in FSUIPC though it can be done; some custom configurators (like the ones for the A2A warbirds) don't read axes that are set up in FSUIPC. I have recently installed PNW in addition to Global. I took my first flight around PDX (Portland) and it looks amazing. I would really like to see what this area has to offer and wondered if any of you could give me some suggestions of some sights to see. It looks quite a big area! many thanks Darran

I have bad image quality in P3D2 in the form of shimmering textures. I have encountered the same thing in FSX but that was resolved after setting it up in Nvidia Inspector. But I have no NI profile info for P3D2 so it's difficult to set it up the same way as FSX. (as a side note I experience similar problems in Train Simulator 2014)

Just tried to get my rudder pedals working with Prepar3d and struggling - all the axis seems to be all messed and I cant seem to get them working properly smoothly...even after manually reassigning all the buttons and axis they still sometimes go crazy but work at other times 1)Does anyway have a setup file they could send me to get me started? (I am also using the pedals with a thrustmaster warthog). 2)Should the pedals now work correctly - I read with version 2.2 they fixed any old problems?

Hi Guys, Don't know what changes have been made to Active Sky Next, but I like what I'm seeing. Aside from the weather, the added benefit of having a weather gauge that works from within the V/C is very nice. I like how the program depicts the three thunderheads that are forming but has ignored all the other clouds.

Is anyone else having problems installing this add on in P3D using the P3D installer and found a solution to the following issue? Installation stalls at the destination folder dialog box. It wont find the P3D folder automatically and it will not activate the clickable button to allow manual browsing for the folder. I have sent in 2 requests for support over the last 6 days but no response or acknowledgement. EDIT. Finally got an email response to say that it will not install into version 2 but that there is an updated installer apparently coming in a week or so.

...in a Dawn flight out of Miami Intl (KMIA), headed to Detroit, Metro (KDTW) via a 737-800. ...cruise by A.T.C. set at FL220...and is P3D, drop-dead gorgeous all around me..., what a fabulous flight simulator! ...at 30fps. I'll start a flight and about 10 minutes in, it flips back to unlimited. 30fps is set both globally and in the P3D profile. Anyone else observer this behavior? Thanks, Mark

Hello everybody, It seems that this subject is not new on the Forum. I come from X-Plane and I became a P3D simer. I really love the 2 sims, but 1 thing, in P3D I have a lot of Blurries. I never seems this Blurries in X-Plane, but as I see videos about FSX/P3D on Youtube, it seems I'm not the only one who have blurry. Lot of simers seems to have blurry : After 2 or 3 min of flight (or past 4000 foots), the ground become totally blurry, with no Autogen... Did you folks know..that if you watch your Raptor 22 from Tower view, as you streak across the sky..and you go through the sound barrier...you will hear the sharp report! I thought to try that...and probably wasn't too surprised that this is also modeled in....for there was the shaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrp crack as heard from 'below'.... very cool!

Because of a Scenery issue I could not resolve I needed to uninstall P3d and then do a fresh install, I would not like to fall into the same problem once again. My question is I have the following scenery I would like to install, in what order would you install these and in what PRIORITY should they be listed in the Scenery Library? Guys, I have a question. Can i install P3D in the same HDD as FSX? Curently i have done that and i feel its making P3D's graphics bad. I may be wrong. Any theories, feedback or recomendations about this? Regards

Has anybody else read the P3D license stipulation for this aircraft. I was all set to buy this but my understanding is as I have the Professional license (I bought, as many did, before 'terms' changed), I won't be adding this aircraft to my fleet. Will this be a trend?

Hi everyone- long time reader, first time poster! I've just got prepar3d 2 and installed VectorLandClass landclass and mesh payware for New Zealand with the P3Dv2 installer. The landclass files appear to be displaying correctly, however the mesh is very strange- not as highly defined as it should be, with coastlines climbing hillsides and the like. There are also white tears in the terrain everywhere, and although I followed the instructions from this topic, it hasn't removed them yet. I have just purchased the Centair airport (P3D version) add on and tried to install onto my P3Dv2.2 - but when I go to the airport it seems just to be the default scenery and not the airport that I bought - can anyone help? Note : within my P3D folder there is a PacSim folder with what looks like has all the files and it did seem to install properly - so am puzzled why its not showing up? Any help in resolving is appreciated?

I just today installed Vectors, 11S and the newest ORBX LIBS and I get the following error when starting P3D: "Scenery.cfg file error. Local scenery directory (ORBX\FTX_AA_PAYA\scenery area 141 not found". How can I clear the error? Also, when starting P3D, I get a message that says: "The publisher could not be verified". Hello, I have the Q400 working in P3Dv2. I do have sounds, but the sound is not in stereo/there are no sound cones, the exterior sound is the same regardless of what angle you view the aircraft. There is also no Doppler effect when using fly-by view. Has anyone else had this issue? Otherwise it seems to be working great. Thanks

I've decided to get this out for you all to enjoy. I have created a few tools to do install and configuration, but they are too messy to include, might cause more confusion than they're worth at this time. I plan to clean them up later. So this is just the most elegant smallest pieces. This will also help reposition a view for use with two monitors as well, or work for a single ultra display to zap distortion.
